That's the thing with Nirvana, even songs from in utero are that old. I think that was one Kurt's problems near the end. he did all of his writing early on and got pretty far removed from writing once they got big. He was pretty much tapped out and starting fresh after in utero and was probably having a hard time finding inspiration.
Yea, "Radio Friendly Unit Shifter" from In Utero album was also writen in 11-25-90 And "Sappy" in 89, like more other songs. I was very surprised by the fact what a lot of songs of In Utero was writen long time ago.
this is a genuine question, back then did they bring audio recorders to shows or something? and if they did, what kind of audio recorders? i’m just confused on how they get audio but not video. btw i’m 15 so don’t come at me for being stupid.
Cameras had microphones and also the band may have wanted someone to record the concert or people wanted to make bootlegs so they would bring audio recorders to the show
Yes shows were recorded by bands themselves and/or fans and good bands supported it, The Grateful Dead being a famous one. They actually had sections/areas for people to stand and tape in. If no one had recorded it's gone. Metallica used to support taping at their shows, but security rarely allowed it happen. On the 'Black Album' show in Dublin at the Point in '92 you could pay a couple of quid more to sit in an area behind the sound desk for recording. Bootlegs weren't always a big issue for bands, it was the major label record corporations that turned it into a negative thing. I started videoing Hardcore shows back in '96 and still video any show I go to regardless of genre, only club shows, I don't like big venues. The videos are never for general release. I just send a copy to the band to do with it as they please. It's also a nice memory list to have for when I'm senile haha
@@stabmasterarsonirl Later on in their career, Metallica did get crazy about people bootlegging their albums especially online with Napster. Not sure if they got crazy about their live stuff but they probably did

Crazy to think they were playing some of these songs in the 80s.
Kommissar for real, they had no idea the impact these songs were going to have in the next couple years

Could you please do this for 'Bleach' and 'In Utero' too?
Bleach maybe too hard to do
@@Gipsy_T. Nirvana are a very well documented band - there might be a few tracks missing, but I reckon you could find most of them
He did do bleach but copyright sadly took it down
Polly sounds way better than the acoustic version that I heard already
Edit: I had to remove that :O face

One of the greatest bands ever
They fucked up the Intro in In Bloom, that you know it's their first time being that shit live.
There's a couple shows where they fucked up in blooms opening lol I remember one where Dave is like "This ones so new!". Lol

first live performance of Territorial Pissings was in Jan. 18, 1991, just like Endless Nameless.

If you want an actual response, yes. For audio only shows, they brought a tape (cassette) recorder.
