Didn't actually show how to make a vertical clipping plane aligned with the model... :(
I have a colleague who uses rhino entirely for both modeling and floor plans with title blocks and simple architectural layouts (top view, elevations, sections) with notes and dimension. Do you have a tutorial for using rhino like autocad?
Hi Peter,
Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. Missed your comment. I very purposefully do not use Rhino in that way. To m knowledge almost any other software for Vector drawing will do it better.
so basically the cliping plane does not work when it comes to a perspective section view of the building.?
Hello,
down below I have read the comment that you (the community) use Rhino like AutoCad. I never worked with Autocad but I worked a long time with Vectorworks. Especially in the case of drawing architectureplans I do have some question. Maybe someone do have an answer for me.
3D-Building in Vectorworks (workflow)
1. Cut Through the Object
2. Vectorworks put the sectioning automatacalliy to the layout
3. afterwars I complete the drawing with dimension in the layout
4. Hatches - If I'm a smart drawer ;-), I set all my hatches in the classification area before I cut the objekt. Vectorworks recognize all the setting automatically in the layout. If I'm not the smart i set ist afterwards. But the result is the same. Vectorworks set it then automatically.
5. If I will chang the model, the sectionings will also change automatically.
resumed for what I looking for:
- the same or similar workflow in Rhino.
So now it sounds like that I do a commercial for Vectorworks . Sorry for that, this is not my target. We just moved to Rhino and I will improove my workflow.
I just see in all examples videos that Autocad is still used. May Rhino will not be the best programm to creat architecture-drawings. Is that possible. Maybe you can give me a tip.
yo man, is it possible to do a perspective section view of a building. using the clipling plane? I can't figured that out. can you?
Thank you
Hi Peter. I'm using rhino like autocad ewery day.
thank u :)
