  • The Messiah enthroned, the new temple dedicated, and now God was ready to gather his dispersed people back to himself. The Day of Pentecost was the perfect day for the Shepherd to gather his scattered sheep, because Jerusalem was filled with representatives of the entire Jewish Diaspora. This scene was not only a fulfillment of many prophecies but also serves as a foreshadow of the Day of gathering that is to come.

    PRIMARY TEXT FOR THIS MESSAGE:
“Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation under heaven. And at this sound the multitude came together, and they were bewildered, because each one was hearing them speak in his own language. And they were amazed and astonished, saying, “Are not all these who are speaking Galileans? And how is it that we hear, each of us in his own native language?" (Acts 2:5-8, ESV)
