    Try looking only at Steve Buschemi in the background through the entire scene. His mimic and reactions are both magnificient and hilarious, a pure gem hiding in plain sight throughout the whole thing. I love the way he just slides out of the situation when Walter pulls out the piece.

    I've always loved the detail that after Walter has made his point, he takes out the magazine and empties the chamber before he puts it back in the bag, making sure that its unloaded, safety first, meaning that when he was pointing the gun at Smokey with his finger on the trigger, he was not in fact, f*cking with Smokey and Walter would have shot him if he marked it 8.

      Yeah the whole taking the clip out and getting the bullet out too is such a nice detail. People may think Walter is a crazy psychopath, but he takes care to do firearm safety properly at the end. Only strange thing was he was safe in unchambering, but his trigger discipline was bad since you really don't want your finger on the trigger with a live round in unless you're going to fire.

    John Goodman is legit one of my favorite actors since I was a kid, I watched The Flintstones film and Monsters Inc. But I won't lie that whenever he does the more adult material he can be hilarious or even very scary and intimidating, I never saw The Big Lebowski but this scene here makes me want to check out the film.

    I went to see this with my girl freind at the time and she hated this and wanted to leave the theatre ,but I was blown away. Also saw fear and loathing with a different girl who also hated that and wanted out , i just couldnt believe it and they ended up as two of my favories of the decade for sure.       Yup. I think Jeff told the story about how when they started filming he wasn't sure if he was doing a good job or if they really wanted him because he never got rewrites of the script. He voiced his concern to John, and John laughed and then told him, "This is a Coen Brothers movie. There are no rewrites."

    This guy is such an under rated actor!! He brings the character to life with such accuracy, that you get emmediatly sucked in.

    This scene is better than I thought. He gives the impression that he cares about the rules, the dog, or even his ex, but his actions prove that the only thing he cares about is the next petty win.

      Not really, it means that he is a man gothernrd by systems, and these systems are the only thing helping him cling to his sanity. The win might be petty, but it helps him not think about things in life he had to think, but can not. What a sorry state to be in, both for you and for everyone around you.
