I like this version. It kinda fits the theme of technological change. This version implies that not only the video killed the radio star, we now use vocaloids over the actual ones
hah, so many layers of irony here. using digital singers instead of real ones, and even then, those have been replaced. its perfect ♡ makes me sad for the old v1s though, none of them got an update. im glad at least kaito and meiko made it through, even though theyre horribly under-appreciated. heres hoping v3 wont be their last upgrade...
okay it's 2019 and I'm still listening to this cover, it's so good??? I also listened to the original and I didn't really like it as much as I liked this one, so that's a win for Vocaloid1 I guess
This is still adorable. I have a newfound love for these three. I feel bad for never really listening to them. Leon is so cute! And so are Miriam and Lola. ><
Leon is an English Vocaloid. If you're asking because he sounds pretty garbled, it's because he was the first Vocaloid. Lola and Miriam take the titles of second and third respectively.
Close, but no cigar - in case anyone reads this comment ten years later, LEON and LOLA were developed simultaneously, quite likely as far back as Project Daisy.
@yakuithemaid No, but it's named after the IBM 7094's performance. Project Daisy was a prequel project to Vocaloid, which LEON, LOLA, TARO (later renamed to KAITO), and HANAKO (later renamed to MEIKO) were initially created for.
This music is the beginning of a great adventure called the vocaloid ♡ (no comments on the need i watch this video almost 10 years later, I hope many other people will see this video) August 21, 2019 :)
"oh, a, oh! oh, a, oh! r-r-r-roll up to the party with my crazy pink wig, but I can't get through the door because my booty's to big, 1 per-cent is human 99 is plastic, just a sec I gotta fix my lips"
@Carcrashize The producer has put a lot of work into the piece. Vocaloid 1 gets commented to sound closer to how a human actually speaks, so their voices sound more natural. However, Vocaloid has a better human tone and less digital fluff. Leon here is pulling the "odd" digitl fluff, Lola and Miriam pull it up a lot. Its the same for all Vocaloids, you just got to listen for the vocaloid engine kicking in. But then again, Ann and Al have a VERY strong accent, whereas these guys are soft.
@AngelEmfrbl hahah. thats where i learned about that. :P I was fascinated to find out Al is voiced by an American. It kinda makes me wonder why his accent isn't American... I guess its the engine or the recording style...
I almost bought one of the Vocaloids when they first came out - just on the hype. I'm glad I held off untill I heard it and saw how much work it takes. Saved me about £200 I think. They're brilliant in their own way though.
LOVE the original song, little bit salty at the sheer amount of comments saying that this one is so much better, but, wont lie, it's.. so much better (=w='')

The "Rewritten by machine on new technology" line is particularly fitting.

Pretty sure this is the definition of irony.
Usually i don't like vocaloids singing songs originally done by humans but their electro robotic voices are perfect for this!
this is AMAZING, i love how you used the orginal first vocaloids for this
okay it's 2019 and I'm still listening to this cover, it's so good???

Don't worry, I'm listening to this in 2019. I'm looking for the world's first vocaloid lmao 😂
@@S3PES you found em ^^
@@zeus4evah yep ! still listening in 2022 😌 vocaloid are immortals

Leon 1st vocaloid 👌👌👌👍👍✌️👏
It should be "internet killed the video star" now.
Ikr
Heck no. Why do you think it's called "VIDEO Killed the Radio Star"? Because it's VERY FITTING for a setting such as GTA: Vice City.
Lucky for you that’s an actual song
It’s so sad some of the v1s never made it except meiko and kaito and it’s sad all the work they put in their v1 just never worked..
I think there should be a radio channel for Vocaloid and UTAU songs. That would be so cool!!! :3
I actually love this version so much
My birthday, 10 years ago.
Crazy..
this is my jam. amazing job by the way, sounds just like the original.

@@ApolloK ohhh okay, thats really cool!! like i knew about leon and lola but i didnt know that kaito and meiko were created with them!!
@yakuithemaid Yeah! They were developed by different companies, but all four of them were in development long before VOCALOID itself was!
always loved this cover
"And Vocaloid killed the Disney pop star....."
That's what they'll be singing in 30 years.... hopefully...
Vocaloid killed the video star
Leon looks awesome in that picture~ xD Never imagined him with silver hair, but it looks good~

This is absolutely amazing! Not a lot of people can make Leon sound good!
I love the "oh oooooh oh"
Here I am in 2022 after getting Leon wanting to learn to tune him because i love him
I love this song.
It sends showers down my spine - it is accurate! Very good cover!
Favorite rendition.
This song definitely marks the swift change of how music was brought to the public. I love this!
I've been listening to Vocaloid so much since I starters

THIS IS AHEAD OF TIME
Internet killed the video star..
@Carcrashize Because Leon, Lola, and Miriam are Brittish. Sweet Ann and Big Al are Swedish.

@AyuRox1 Yeah, I was in Vocaloid Otaku forums when they revealed that. :-3
ive never heard the english speaking vocaloids before but bloody hell theyre are brilliant!
@dont2care8channel except that leon is suppsed to be an english vocaloid as well as lola and miriam.
I almost bought one of the Vocaloids when they first came out - just on the hype. I'm glad I held off untill I heard it and saw how much work it takes. Saved me about £200 I think.

Wow mostly sounds like the original. Impressive.
i think thats awsome i mean isn't hard to take an english song an vocaloid it. well its great. 5 starzs and Fav
@Ichigo4456 There is one for UTAU songs
@AngelEmfrbl But, you know that Ann is voiced by an Australian and Al is voiced by an American, Right?
Okay hear me out… LEON.. DAFT PUNK COVER.
That exists!
Look up get lucky leon Vocaloid cover
@@sammsarabefr oh yeah I love that cover!
@davolfman Yes it is!~ It happened to me a few times already xD And once it was created just like 2 weeks before xD
Vocaloid saved the video star.
Leon is definitely my favorite English Vocaloid
this sounds almost exactly like the original
Where's the GTA Vice City pager tune when you need it?
OMG that was freaking awesome XDDDD
MY GOD LEON IS SO FUCKIN CUTE!!!! *dies of a nosebleed*
@greenpigen haha, I don't think it sounds like that, but you really made me LOL hard xDDDDD, hahaha, now it'll be that way xD
@EspeonLady Vocaloid 1 uses MIDIS not vsq
am i the only one that thinks this sounds nearly the same as the original
+demonreapergirl That's why I really adore this cover.
+Mitsuhisa Inune Meto! \(^~^)/
+demonreapergirl When LEON sang the first few words, I coulda sworn it was the original singer! :D
Truly, this video is proof that we are living in the Age of Plastic.
This person knows how to use Engloids!
Video Killed the Radio Star sung by virtual singers... *SAD BUGGLERS NOISES*
Leon's voice reminds me so much of kaito for some reason o.o
I'm soooooooooo stupid, I just found out he was originated from England! How wierd is that?
The original, done by the buggles, is good but this is cooler!,
Vocaloid 1 engine powered them, it wasn't a great little engine and is considered as a prototype to the following engines.
Is his voice originally done in English or Japanese?
leon, lola and miriam's voices/programs are english
Q~Q yes plz.
I can actually understand them ^.^
Surprised they didn't slaughter the song. That happens alot when people cover a song. They change the sound. lol
I speak English and I can't even understand what they're saying! their voices of cute though.
Crap this phone I couldn't finish the last comment
@Gordygoo12 I know but still...shouldn't thier words be able to be fully pronoused
Better than the original!
Dislike original...love this!
OMG! You got and mp3 for this?
Vocaloid killed Julian Vallejos
why does LEON,LOLA and MIRIUM sound better than Sweet Ann and Big Al who bouth came after and so should be better?
my opinion
Omg sounds like original
English.
Vocaloid killed Justin Bieber~
@theAsterisk lol grow up.
