I found a place similar there and caught 9 fish, 8 red snappers in a day, although they were all under the bagging limit so I let them go. Should have came with bigger hooks...
Topwater popping off the rocks in paradise for gnarly pelagics in foreign waters (both geographically & personally). Doesn’t get much better than that!
Couldn't agree more Dan. Lots of fun exploring brand new places! I'm looking forward to getting back to Costa Rica in January. Hope all is well with you and Happy Holidays 🎄
Awesome vid, sweet Jack. I'm heading down today from LA bringing some hookup baits and a telescoping rod in my suitcase. anything that size will be a huge fight considering my setup HAHA. Thanks for the live action
honestly, there are some great deals on amazon if you check the reviews but honestly, I picked mine up in walmart after a trip to texas and i've caught 2 - 30" halibut on the thing. haha just remember they shouldn't be used with anything over 10lb test, 8lb preferred.
if you are rock fishing or surfishing I would recommend not to use telescopic otherwise you could snap the rod, go for something 2 piece medium or medium heavy
Went to this exact spot just last week, where you were standing is cut off by about 15ft of water between. Cutting the entire rock structure in half, if you want to reach it now you’ll have to go for a quick swim between the structures. I went during low and high tides.
Unfortunately the sands have shifted quite a bit and the area is a lot harder to get to from the beach, unless you don't mind wading, perhaps at low tide it would be possible.
Just watch the video CLOSELY and have Google Maps open. Match the buildings in the background on the video to those in Maps (you can take a walk on the beach in Maps). Found the exact spot in about 12 minutes. Got the L&L coordinates from Google Earth.
What set up are you fishing with ? I’m heading out to PV in 2 weeks and gonna bring me a 8’ rod medium action and stradic 6000 sw with 30lb braid for top water 2 ounce popper . And a 7’ with a 3000 to jig and plastics . Hoping to rip some lips . Great vid bud 🍻
Sounds like you have what you need! Gluck and have fun. 👍🏻 I have info about the rod/reel/lure here on my website myfishingcapecod.com/rock-fishing-mexico/
I've never used a telescopic rod, so I can't say. However the 3 piece travel rods from Tsunami and St Croix have treated me well. I always recommend bringing at least one back up though, in case you break the rod. Good luck!
im very interested to know the exact location my son loves to fish and he owns the same poppers if you can provide anymore info i would love to know we live part time in vallarta.
@@MyFishingCapeCod thank you I just found out I can take my gear. 1st time. And will be there next week concha china's. Hope to catch something. Lol. Also. Love ur fishing videos . Keep it up brotha🎣🎣🎣🎣
I’m traveling with my family so I don’t get to decide but I think we’ll take a couple of day trips near Punta Negra. Where were you most successful if I’m stuck in PV and what techniques for the surf, mainly poppers?
If you are going to the Punta Negra that is located north of PV, then I have been told that is a good area for surf fishing. Poppers and 2 ounce Kastmasters were most effective for me. Gluck!
I charter fishing tours in rincon de guayabitos not to far from vallarta , if ur ever interested. Last week we bagged a 30kilo marlin and a lot of dorados
That's awesome! I wish I was in PV more often. I have only been there once in my life, but if I return then I will reach out to you. I appreciate the fishing invitation!
Thomas Soska turn on calle easy right before lindo mar beach and try a large spoon because the jack a very deep this time of year due too heat i had luck at this spot
it looks like a tsunami which is what I've been looking to buy for my trip to costa rica, but they don't come with a decent travel case :( called their biminibay outfitters and i guess they don't even make one for their travel rods
That is correct Roman. What I did was go to a local tackle shop and ask if I could have one of the rod tubes which the companies use to ship rods to tackle shops. Most tackle shops have some lying around collecting dust. I got one and then sawed it down to the length of the travel rod. Worked like a charm. Another idea would be to carry-on the rod in the canvas pocket holder that came with the rod. As long as you are careful with how you place the rod in the overhead luggage on the plane, then I would think you'd be OK.
Good luck and have fun! I caught fish at Los Muertos and Conchas Chinas beaches. If you can pay for a charter, then check out Snook Mafia. I haven't fished with them but it looks like they are dialed-in on the shore bite.
My Fishing Cape Cod thanks for the answer buddy my final question is what liter do you use because I’m going surf fishing in Mexico in a lil bit and idk what to use , I got poppers and spoons but no liter!! Lol
Nice fish Bro. I’m heading out there in August and plan to bring my 9 weight fly rod. Do you think I can hook into something on the beach in front of the Marriott hotel? I can’t venture too far lest I incur the wrath of my wife 😮😇. Did you have to get a fishing license??
Matt Neil I didn’t ask the fish. But go ahead and perpetuate ignorance. If you don’t understand why it’s something that shouldn’t be done, you’re just not there yet.
Where did I say dragging it on the rocks was a good practice??? Just said, after it was drug on the rocks, I bet the fish was still happy to be released and can go back to mommy and daddy and not a dinner plate! You must not be there yet!
This is one of the most unique fishing videos I have seen on TH-cam. And brother, I have seen it a lot!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I know exactly where you’re fishing from, thanks for leaving him for me. I’m heading down this month.
Have fun and good luck!
Great fish and solid video. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Still always come to watch this video even tho it’s older, Just bad ass.
Glad you enjoy the vid so much Raymond. Hopefully I can get back to PV at some point in the future! 🙏🏻
Yeah man that would be dope see what else you can hook up on maybe catch n cook of the beach
Looks like fun, riding our bikes and fishing too.
Tons of fun! Thanks for watching and commenting.

Good luck Chris! And you are correct.....these jacks will put up an amazing fight on that setup. Gluck!
Any suggestions on telescoping rods? We are heading down in February and would love to try some shore fishing.

Thanks for the comment. It definitely pays to play it safe while on these rocks. No need to take any uneccessary risks.
Looks so nice. Warm too. It's about 20 degrees back on Cape. Happy Thanksgiving.
Coldest Thanksgiving on record right? Thanks for watching and Happy belated Turkey Day to you as well 🎣
may I ask what rod and reel setup that is? Great video.
In the description I think?
Unfortunately the sands have shifted quite a bit and the area is a lot harder to get to from the beach, unless you don't mind wading, perhaps at low tide it would be possible.
Roger that, thanks for the update.
Sands are always shifting...access to spots is luck of the draw when you are there...
Thanks
just became a fan dude
Great to have you following along ✌🏻
Great 👍🏽. Do you need license to fish?
I don’t think so but you should double check. 🤙🏻
I'm going in February. Please tell me how you got there and where you are. We'll be at the Marriott. Thank you.
The was filmed near Conchas Chinas. Gluck during your trip!

Hi Cairo 👋This was near the Conchas Chinas area
Going to Puerto Vallarta soon! Was curious about taking poppers/tackle with hooks on the plane?? Did you buy them over in Mexico???
Hey Gilbert, I put my fishing hooks etc. in my checked luggage.
U can fly with them no problem
Good spot and fish..indonesia say hello..mancing mania mantap..hh
Thanks for watching!!! 🙌🏻
@@MyFishingCapeCod oke,you're wellcome because I also like fishing sucses..hh
Great video and awesome fishing!!! Which Hotel did you stay at? Im planning a trip Oct 2021!!!
Awesome! We stayed at a VRBO on Los Muertos beach. I think it was called Casa Mulligan but I could be wrong.
Nice catch. Did u buy fishing pole in Mexico or brought your own. Also. Is that Concho china beach
Yes that is the correct location. I brought my own rods and reels, but I would imagine you could purchase equipment locally.

Nice fish !!!! What shoes are you wearing?
Thanks! Those sandals are from Keen amzn.to/2E0FhZf

Nice Jack!! What kind of glove is that bud?
Thanks! That is the AquaSkinz casting glove.
where did you get the poppers
www.canalbaitandtackle.com/tactical-angler-bomb-popper-yellow-2oz/
Where was this spot at off of the beach exactly?
In the rocks by Cochas Chinas
That is by bucearías right
Is the fishing slow or fast? Do you think these rock outcroppings hold rooster fish?
Overall I'd call the shore fishing in PV mediocre. I think you'd have a better chance at roostefish near Yelapa, or Punta Negra north of Puerta Nueva.
I’m traveling with my family so I don’t get to decide but I think we’ll take a couple of day trips near Punta Negra. Where were you most successful if I’m stuck in PV and what techniques for the surf, mainly poppers?

It was down towards Los Muertos/Conchas Chinas. 🎣

I believe it was near Conchas Chinas, or something along those lines.

@@MyFishingCapeCod awesome thanks for the tip. I'll definitely check them out. Do you know if there's any GT's down that side of Mexico?

Poor fish handling. You NEVER drag a fish on the rocks that you aren’t harvesting. Plan better...
I do the best I can, thanks for watching ✌️
