- This video is one of my personal favorite video that I have ever recorded of my life! Chasing after boils and catching one of my favorite species and it is STRIPED BASS! Enjoy this epic video!

Outstanding day !! Haven’t got anything over 15lbs at that lake . Best ones to eat are 3 to 5 pounds.. no joke fishing in that heat . Great job brother 🤙
A simple leader on that braid will give you way less headaches. Tight lines 👍
Wow, great day on the lake! 40 years ago I had a buddy tell me that he was up there at Pyramid once and saw that crazy striper boiling action. I was never sure he wasn't embellishing it a bit because it sounded so WFO. You have just proved to me that my buddy wasn't exaggerating. Good on ya.

I have been on those wide open bites at Lake Mead.
I had good luck throwing a 5/8 oz Prizm Krocadile and a 3/4 oz chrome Rattletrap. Definate find a plug they like, and troll the area.

Where I’m at in Nevada fishing Lake Mead there is no limit on stripers under 20” and you can keep 20 over 20”. That is how bad the stripers have taken over. I see people literally taking home hundreds at a time…

I’ve been hitting pyramid the last few weeks fishing striper boils. I’m curious what you think of the Sammy 105 vs the 100. I’ve been throwing the 13 fishing dual pitch pencil, and the ima little stick.

@@Kjkimfishing I feel you and I was the at the same statement but when it got to hot I tried those ones and I'm happy with them. Very light and it drys extremely fast. Not pushing you for sure, just my experience.

Was fishing there on Saturday- the same experience! So much fun but because of this recording there were many boats hunting and not all the boaters are really respectful to each other which is boring me.
Try a small spoon. When they’re focused on small bait fish that small spoon can imitate that well. You can cast it in the school when they’re boiling and jig on them out deep as well.

So most places in California striper limit is two. So what is the limit in that lake ?
Limit is 10, no size limit. I wish they would lift the limit completely for a few years. It would help the lake out so much.

An s-waiver 168 or a suspending jerk bait will do major damage when they short strike and won’t commit to the topwater. Also try waxing the last two feet of your braid to minimize the tangles on the topwater

Bro, your video motivated me to take my boat out to pyramid. Ended up staying there from 7-6 pm and couldn't even locate a boil that would stay up longer than 10 seconds, and they were all small groups. It was rough man and I think I was around the same area too. Is that often the case for you? The drive there for me is so brutal just to get skunked 😅

Does striped bass taste good? Never had it. I’ve tried white bass a couple times and do not like it. I stick to perch, walleye, crappie and bluegill. Would def try striped bass for sure.

I'm late but I went like 2 days ago and saw some boils but it was nothing like this. This exact cove has zero boils, fpund them on the other cove tho but boils were decent and didn't last long. Managed to get 4 and my bro got 5. Biggest was 29" tho.

Try a Kastmaster spoon or Little Cleo spoon or a Blue Fox Classic Vibrax spinner.
Stripers aren't "so hard to catch."
This happens to me every morning. The fish at my lake are exploding every where on micro baits. It's so frustrating not being able to get them to bite.
Exactly, they are very finicky. You have to find the right boil on the stripers that are actively feeding out of the water.

How do stripers get to Pyramid Lake???
Castaic and pyramid lake are connected from the California aqueduct. The california aqueduct connects from California delta to our reservoirs. These Stripers are saltwater species that were able to survive in freshwater and had the capability travel through the California aqueduct to our waters.

I recommend people stay away from Pyramid. Castaic is much closer, easier to get to, less wear and tear on your vehicle, just as good, with local amenities and offerings, but most of all safer in many ways. Theres no local sheriff. Nearest is in Kern County.

@@Kjkimfishing it's true they're called "lake lice". The jet skiers and wake boaters are all over that lake on the weekends during the summer. Can't tell the difference between a holiday or just an average weekend. Pyramid is preferred over Castaic because they have access to the entire lake. And no speed limits. Good day. You were definitely there during the week.
@@douaxiong922 Castaic is really good for striper too and closer to civilization. But it limited for jet ski access, that's why Pyramid gets a lot of lake lice in comparison on the weekends. Pyramid also has the worst management with felons for employees. Things are always getting broken into and stolen.

Nice catch, but would recommend catch and release. As a fisherman, you should treat fish with some respect and preserve the resource rather than deplete it. Harvesting only enough for a meal rather than hoard them for bragging rights.
What do you think he’s doing with the other fish, throwing them directly in the trash? Do you not own a freezer? Did you know where the money from his fishing license goes (hint it goes to the preservation of the natural resources you see). Also do you go to the grocery store for one meal at a time? Do you walk everywhere or do you pollute the air by using a car? Are you commenting on this video using a phone that has cobalt in it that was mined using child labor? Chill out.

Limit is 10 I believe
You should speak to a wildlife resource officer some time ask why limits are set. Much like bag limits in hunting it’s to allow healthy fish to grow. Catch and release was started by organizations who worried about over fishing. Having little understanding of the consequences.
