Just a note for new players, if you set your initial ornithopter (flying scout) to auto explore it will always scout and reveal the village for your starting spice tile first. You can micro it if you want but it’s not super necessary especially if it’s your first several games.
I just started playing it today on my Xbox with Game Pass cloud gaming. Figuring out controller commands will take me a short bit but I am looking forward to the game
Great early game guide, I just started my first playthrough and i think I've kinda accidentally set myself up really well (the in game pop ups are definitely helpful). Is a jack of all trades setup into mid game ok or do you need to focus heavily on one victory condition early on? Great video liked and shared.
Too fast and no itemisation identification to understand your very fast verbal walkthrough. May be helpful to come back to when I know what you're talking about!
As much as I love dune, this has to be one of the worst games I’ve ever player. After purchasing the game itself, I then had to sign up with some xbox ultimate subscription just to play it, and then it didn’t even work right, where the graphics were only half loading, appearing super pixelated, not playable. Plus the game itself was just way overly complicated, even after going through all their tutorials. Total waste of my evening.
It's actually pretty great lol. Been having a ton of fun with it since early access and it's only gotten better. If it's not your cup of tea, then that's fine. Not all 4X type games are. But to blanket statement it as "the game sucks" is just childish.
This might be someone that doesn't like to read in their games. I've played for only an hour and I know I'm going to have to start over a few times because my brain doesn't want to read at first, but once I get the basics down I'll go back and dig it and it'll make more sense after playing for a bit. Board games have been wonderful for getting me to appreciate this aspect of video games.
The community patch a few days ago restructured the tech tree. Filtration systems was mandatory, now it doesn't exist anymore (except for the Fremen). Go for local dialect or modular parts immediately and still focus on high wind strength for the dew collectors ;-)
I would also like to add that, as mentioned in the video, we may not be able to follow a strategy in the game. It is necessary to develop different strategies for each game.
"My Desert. My Hejenomee. My Dune" Baron Harkonen
that was funny af i admit

Thanks for this, I'm going to give it a spin
Maybe you could do a video about the differences between each house. I know it's complicated but therefore more people would be interested.

Why are you going so fast I've been playing 30 minutes and can't figure out where the build menu is.
🤣
I'm playing on Xbox version. There are no wind traps in my tech tree. Only dew collectors
They actually made a patch immediately after I released this video. Wind traps are no longer on the tech tree and I belive are baseline

The guide is great, but the game sucks.

Woof! I just saw this comment! Talk about bad timing! They removed this research node
