My son and I visit the store a few times a month, it's a blast. It seems like thousands of new items are added each week, it's incredible. That was a great interview, nice to get to know the owner. I've seen him in the shop doing mock show setups, never wanted to bother him. We plan on visiting again tomorrow.

Love stores like this but usually when in a mall they go out of business within a year or two as the rent is too expensive for the sales they make, with multiple stores ouch that has to be a lot of money spent on rent
Thats usually because the rent is very high in malls, however as malls have begun to struggle more in more in the modern world of retail, I think you have seen those rent prices come down. As Allan mentioned in the video, one of the unknowns he has to deal with is that the Mall may not be around in a couple years and they will have to move, but for now I think they have a good thing going by being offered lower rent than one might have paid say 5 years ago.
IMO It's certainly not easy to run a business like this, in large part because the toy industry isn't really one that gives a lot of support to small businesses like this. But hard work, determination, a little luck and like with most physical retail businesses, location plays a large role in who survives and who doesn't. Like with many small businesses however there are no guarantees and I am sure it can be a sometimes stressful roller coaster of a ride managing the ups and downs of it.
I think he is knowledgeable in toys, but also in how to find them at good prices. I don’t see any other way, but I’m no expert on the matter, lol. Nonetheless I’d like to go to his store. Lucky you are relatively close by.
I personally am not a huge vintage collector but the first time I went there I did pick up a Mattel Secret Wars carded Zemo figure. I was also tempted to get the Classics Snake Mountain playset which I missed when it was initially sold, however the reason I didnt get it the first time was space constraints and sadly that is still a issue so I held off.

I do appreciate the feedback and I don't disagree, however the reality is I am 1 person without any kind of camera crew. This isn't a professionally made docu-series. Its one guy who managed to squeeze a few hours in his busy schedule to do this for fun because I thought my viewers would enjoy seeing it. I'm walking around a large store with a camcorder that has 1 light on it. So I can only do so much about the lightning. The camcorder is a 4k camcorder so its not low res but again I get the lightning isn't always the best nor am I professional camera man. Again I appreciate the feedback and will incorporate as much as I can in making improvements if I do this again, but at the same time just making you aware of the reality of the situation. LOL and don't even get me started on the other guy who commented on this post that demonstrates they have no clue what they are saying or how things work.
