I played the PlayStation Test (I think it is equivalent to closed beta 3), the W-Engines work exactly like Light Cones from HSR. You can equip, let's say, the shark engine on any character, but it's passives will only activate on Attacker characters (like Ellen, cause it's her signature weapon). There are 5 "classes", Attacker, Support, Defender, Anomaly and Stunners.
Also, there was a new banner for signature weapon of the limited character (this shark W-Engine in this case)
Last info, there are 6 S-Rank W-Engines on Channel Stable, one of each acting as a signature weapon of each standard S-Rank character. I believe the one you showed with Fire element is Koleda's, ice is Lycaon's, Physical is Nekomiya's, and the generic one is now maybe a A-Rank, but surely isn't a signature weapon from standard characters.
Some things may change again till the final launch date, but this guide surely will help people to get a better start.
in cbt3 there is a restriction on weapons, similar to hsr's light cones

When u equip them, under the engine there a little switch that is red or green
What does the switch do and how i know is activated or deactivated??
@franckvazquez8204 I'm pretty sure it just toggles the visual effects, they are pretty minor so I don't even notice them. Red is off and green is on
