As a pastor who just celebrated his 10 year "TBI" anniversary, I'm grateful to hear a song that reminds us that not all blessings come wrapped like a Christmas present. My best to you & your husband.
i first heard this song last year on my way to the hospital to visit my sister who was just diagnosed with stage 4 lupus.it was a very scary situation for the entire family and a real testing and strengthening for all our faith. My sister identified so closely with this song and she held on to the concept that Gods blessings came in disguised through this situation. She is 100% cured now and the lupus is in remission! Praise God for all his blessings,
wow! now i understand that God can bless us by not actually giving us what we really want in life but something else.
Laura, your story is truly inspiring to those in need. Thank you for allowing yourself to be used by God through this song.
I think the hardtimes are probably the biggest way God blesses us although we don't usually see it that way at the time. God keeps proving to me that He is in charge of my story. Life hasn't turned out the way I dreamed but I trust God has something bigger and better in store. In fact the other day I sighed and said to God, "My dreams are too big and He said they aren't big enough." I was like HUH?
My cousin just recently died of stage 4 breast cancer. This song helped her ease the loneliness of the possibilities of dying. It helped her accept that if she died, it was not a punishment or failure, but it was to end her pain and that it is part of his greater plan for her. God's grace came in great timing, she was not very fond of believing in christ, but before her unexpected sudden death, she finally had the desire to seek him. Gladys Kay

I lost my brother in Feb. 2012. With all the praying for healing my family and I prayed God took him home. I know in my heart my brother and I will be reunited one day! At the time of his death, I wondered if my prayers were heard, I know from scripture God answers all prayer! This song gave me a sense of closure, as the tears flowed the first few dozen times I listen to it. We worship a merciful God, He IMHO, felt that my brother suffered enough, and brought him home to glory! Pray unceasingly!

Our two kids just did this song last Sunday in church. I posted their video.....This song has been an incredible song for our family. Our son is playing the guitar and our daughter who is singing was diagnosed at 4 with Systemic Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis and at 11 diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis. So this song has been a REAL BLESSING to us all. THANK YOU SO MUCH for singing this so we can all hear and enjoy! God Bless!
This song helps me endure painful moments
Your husband's sickness became a blessing for me through your song, as I believe is also the same case for many others. God intended this to happen, as it has helped me understand that God has never forsake me even when my prayers remain unanswered or I feel my cries have not been heard. He gives us pain so that we may grow in faith. He gives us sorrow so we may turn back to Him in our grief. Our God never fails and He surely knows what's best for us.
I got to be in a group years ago where a crazy fellow with long, red hair led the worship. I still remember Scotty, thank you. And now I am blessed to see Miss Laura almost every Sunday as she leads us in worship at Perimeter. You never get the sense that her singing is about her. God puts the right people in the right place, at the right time.
From the first moment I heard this song & all along the way I've loved this song. I was born with disabilities due to genetic mutations & gone through accidents than made my health worse over the last few years. Prior to things becoming worse with my health I was my mom's caregiver for many years. This song came out about 2years prior to her being received home with our Lord. She absolutely loved this song! In fact it was one that we played for her in the intensive care unit along with hymns and they gave her comfort before she passed. So many times people look at those who are disabled or chronically ill as those who "don't have enough faith or they'd be healed" yet I find that no matter how hard it is I'm more concerned that God continue to work on my Spiritual walk with Him than anything else. If that means I'm disabled and chronically ill then so be it. I hear so often from others how are you so strong? "He is the source of my strength. It is not of my own power." I will keep doing as Paul and pointing back to God for the answer of where my strength and hope comes from. I keep praying that God will continue to bring people into my life who ask so I can keep pointing back to Him.

i have a dear friend who is having a hard time because her parents would be separating and she struggles right now.. ive sent Laura Story's "blessing" to her and i hope she'd be in a way..comforted..and she'd understand things better. i want to be a blessing and this is the only way i kud be one to her..may u guys join me in prayer that she may overcome what she is currently going through..thank you and Godbless!!

Laura thank you so much for this wonderful song with its powerful message. It’s the same things to me when people talk about being “rich” or “successful” I tell people all the time I’m rich or successful not in the worlds eyes but at what really matters. I have a wonderful Christian wife 3 beautiful children a relationship with God and what’s to me the best church family but I’m “just” a truck driver. Because I finally came to the realization that stuff and money will always fail you but God never will and He has helped me to totally re prioritize what really matters.
I have been chronically ill for more than a decade now and this somg has been... well, a blessing to me this whole time.
Through this illness I have been really learning to leam on God. Not just for my health but my joy and happiness.
I don't know where or who I would be right now if I wasn't ill and maybe I don't want to know. I didn't read or memorize the bible before I got ill like I do now.
My life I am told is a blessing to others. They see me smile and laugh and hold no bitterness for being ill and tell me how I have impacted their lives for the better.
My cousin said that she had to eat something she didn't want to and then thought of me and how I eat the same thing for every meal without complaining. She realized it was no big deal to wat what she had to. That she shouldn't complain.🙂
Thank you for writing this song. It spoke to me and reminded me that God was beside me and led me through many difficulties, painful events and setbacks. It reminded me that even if I go through another disappointment, he will still be with me and he will turn it into something good if I trust him and hold onto him.
When my grandpa passed away am I being blessed because it doesn't feel like it but hearing this song helped me realize I am but in Gods eyes. Thanks Laura Story for writing this amazing song.

I'm crying after hearing this song. My husband is on his third layoff since 2008. We are completely broke and about to go through bankruptcy. Although he has applied to many companies, he has not been getting many responses. This is truly unusual compared to the last two layoffs which, although were protracted, were constant phone calls from headhunters, etc. He is in the IT field and the silence is deafening. Please pray for us!

I heard this song on 99.1joyfm Aug 23 10:10 pm I lost my wife to lung failure everything I did was to make her happy I have no children few friends it is hard at times to find the blessings when you have lost those that are so close if it wasn't for my belief in God I wouldn't be here now I'm not sure what his plans are but I have to wait to see.

This song is a HUGE inspiration to me because everyone goes through stuff an when we pray god doesn't always answer the way we want him to or immediately but he hears our prayers and he always has a solution to all our problems and struggles in life

I believe that God acts for the movement of his kingdom towards us and to help us move towards him and his answers do not always directly meet our requests but are for a greater good. What ultimately matters, is love and union with God and one another. I saw Laura in concert and I can truly say that my daughter and I were moved and found inspiration in her faith. Her life and talent is moving the kingdom and moving the people towards one another. The day will come when our God will wipe every tear from our eyes and there will be no more pain and suffering. What an awesome testimony...even while she's in the midst of her questions, she created such a beautiful, anointed song...that is touching many, many lives. Mine, included. This is my first song I've heard from her, but she not only has a beautiful story and voice, but she's anointed to tell His stories. Definitely will be praying for her and her family - and that she continues as He's calling her to do His works.
I have a phrase I use often - There is a greater glory....always. We may not see it at the time, but I'm sure of it. A friend of mine was blessed with a granddaughter and at seven months old she got sick. They didn't think it was serious but at 13 months old she lost her battle with cancer. There were many prayers for healing and now she feels no pain, she is in a much better place. The healing didn't come the way we wanted; it came through tears. There's a greater glory. Someday we'll see it.

AMEN!!! There IS such a blessedness in waiting on the Lord. Wow... and an intimacy there with the Savior that is usually not otherwise felt. I have recently learned in my life how so very MUCH the trials of this life are actually God's mercies in disguise. @mmlinke1 I completely understand what you and your husband are going through. I am in the IT field too and I have not been able to find a job in that field for in over 3 years. Everywhere I turn, it seems like it's a dead end. I feel like giving up but I know I have to be strong for my wife and daughter. They mean everything to me. I know if I give up, they would struggle even more. Even if we have to live in a box, as long as I'm in the box with them, we will always be a family. God bless you!

Wait on God.
If you read Hebrews 12, it is one of those passages that mentions how the Lord disciplines those He loves and in this same chapter, there is a verse that says "He does it for our good, that we might share in His holiness."
Plus, a passage from Acts 14 reminds us that we must through much tribulation enter the Kingdom of God.

I'm sure that God would not give you more than you can handle. I recently lost my mother three years after losing my father. At the time, i was angry and mad and asking God, why does it have to be me. I still don't an answer, but i'm learning to trust, because he will not stir me wrong. Trust in him, and he'll provide for you. I'll keep you in my prayers

Performed this song for church when I was younger, now having almost lost all my material wealth and reputation, losing 3 of my pastors to COVID, infedility, 3 life endearing operations, and losing my second born son, I realise Gen 15:1, ' (slot my name in) I AM your shield and your never ending reward,' God is the reward in and of it self and each level of life strips away the dross to make us realise how near and dear He is. Till all we see and want is the Friend that doesn't betray. We can even let ourselves down, God doesn't and God won't. Jesus loves.

I too sympathize; I have had terrible luck with jobs. Finally, just over a year ago landed a halfway decent job. For years following my lay off in 2006 I had to take what I can get jobs, as in minimum wage. My prayers are with you, hopefully he has landed a halfway decent job. We too had to file bankruptcy. @mmlinke1 I've been there and while I'm currently employed my layoffs put us in such a financial bind that we will be trying to catch up for years. Don't give up hope friend. What part of the country are you located in? During my last layoff, I started my own business but found a job before I could really get it off the ground. Is that a possibility? That is really interesting and it makes a lot of sense. My mother's parents have stabbed my parents in the back so many times it's not even funny which has left us with financial problems for at least 10 years. Not to mention that my younger brother is really sick. So this song gives me some food for thought.

Actually.. As Christians, we don't need to say 'God bless' or 'God bless you' to our brothers & sisters in Christ because we can't find it in the Bible.. And the Word says, we are blessed with every spiritual blessings.. But surely, we can use it to the unbelievers. We're already blessed! We just have to live our lives in line with God's Will. Regarding healing, God loves to heal. And He still do it today! By Jesus' stripes, we have been healed! If we have been healed, then we are healed! TRUTH

This is such a depressing song. No matter what happens, the promises of God are yes and amen in Christ. If Jesus promised healing, it is still true. There may be many reasons why people are not healed especially in an age of intellect. It is very hard to find someone with the faith to pray for the sick. Don’t blame the sick person, but we need church leaders with Faith to pray for the sick. James 5:13-end. (Jesus blamed the disciples for not able to cast out the demon from the boy. He did not blame the father or the son. We can only blame the church pastors today for the lack of healing power in the church.)
