This performance is a clear slap on the antis that exo doesn't lipsync. This performance is a definite and clear proof. I loved it even after watching it 100 time. Really felt good when seventeen was being fanboy. Loved when Redvelvet was looking furious and was eager to see what their sunbaenim were upto. Was way too much happy to see when BTS clapped really happily. It was amazing when blackpink was kind of getting goosebumps by their performance. I can't forget about Bigbang and 2NE1, SNSD too and Wonder Girls and Super Junior as well as SHINee but we all know that EXO contributed a lot on KPOP.. So, anyone who disregard EXO as one of the pioneers of KPOP, should have their own genre.
The dellusion is real... EXO debuted in 2012. Kpop was already pretty established by that time. EXO was extremely succesful, no one can ever take away all of the achievements they got, but saying they paved the way for kpop or "invented" something (what, exatcly?), it's just bonkers when PSY's Gangnam style was literally taking over the major charts ALL OVER THE WORLD, including USA's main music charts at that time. When did EXO came close to such a feat? Inside East Asia and Kpop communities? Kings. Outside these places? No one knew who they were, the same way most people didn't know kpop even existed, except for Gangnam Style. EXO is comparable to BTS in the sense they had a lot of dedicated fans, and they could have actually got where BTS is today, or close, if social media was a thing for idols back then, if their fandom wasn't plagued by internal fights and picking fights with everyone else. Armys are toxic now, and it makes sense because the fandom grew exponentially, outside the realm of kpop even, now there's a lot of ppl who dgaf for kpop and only listen to BTS, others actually got into Kpop thanks to BTS. But before BTS was a thing, their fandom was known to be respectful and dedicated to the group. EXO fans were, from the start, notoriously annoying. Even among themselves. If they had used all the energy spent in picking fights online to promote the group outside east Asia, maybe they would, at least, had a viral global song, like Psy. lol Still EXO's vocal line is unmatched for BG imo, which is not worth much, because I'm not a boy group's fan at all, I've just been around as a kpop fan for a very long time (since 2005) so, even if I don't like boy groups, I eventually get to hear something from the most popular ones and when the song is really good, I'll ocasionally watch the performances, EXO just happens to be the group with more than one good song and amazing performances. Also I'm a sucker for good vocalists and as I said, their vocalists are just unrealistic good, even when their voices crack like in this performance, I mean, it's raw and real.

he did NOT have a voice crack. If you look at fancams he did not have a crack. It's because MMA had to get rid of the loud chants, that's why some of his high notes were absorbed too.
