Vegan Pork Pie Recipe... Disaster?

To celebrate World Vegan Day (and my eleventh veganniversary), me and my kid made some vegan pork pies. Ok, I'm kind of lying about it being a 'recipe', because we made it up as we went along. But we had a GOOD TIME. But how did they turn out?

If it hasn't got pork in it then it's not a pork pie, it's just a pie. Why do people pretend ?

It could be for many reasons.
Some people make pork tasting pies to get non vegans to try and then see that they are no different.
Maybe this recipe tastes just like pork.

God I love good pork pies. They have to have a crumbly lard based pastry.
