Both comments on the Side stand and False neutrals is absolutely right! I bought my 400X in Dec, 2023! I have over 35 years of biking / riding experience, and my garage currently includes a Triumph Tiger (2019) and KTM 390 ADV (2021). The Side stand I consider as an irritant, but does need solving, but the FALSE NEUTRAL is really a menace, and have been to the SVC twice for the same issue! They are still investigating it! I have issues of my Gear indicator showing 1st gear, but I can push the bike like its in Neutral, with the engine off!! Yes, Triumph does need to look at these issues seriously!
Hey, fellow Speed 400 owner here. I agree with gear lever design however I fixed it by adjusting the lever such that it sits at an angle almost parallel to the road making upshifts smoother. And for the bike turning on in 2nd gear, I realised that this bike does not like to be stalled and since the engine runs a very lean mixture, ECU cuts fuel if it senses high gear low speed combo. I got over this by just leaving the clutch all the time(trust me it works) and clutching in only to change gears.Happy riding,Cheers!
Fellow 400x owner I thought struggling to shift was a me(first time bike rider) problem only 😂 I’m a size 11 shoe size and constantly struggling. Will follow the advice to have it raised. Sidestand struggle is real. The bike turning off with the clutch in is not happening for me. Thanks for sharing. Liked. Subbed.
Guys based on my 3000kms I have shared my thoughts, it's new.make. so there can be few niggles. Still it a great bike. My concerns are stand , gear shifter unable to ride with riding boots , engine stopping in low gear, chain sprocket is not the great at high speed.
Am also facing this engine cut off in 2nd 3rd gear ,I have clocked 2400km and still am my trip. This issue is just so irritating. Am having this instrument cluster problem where it fog’s up during early morning and when it rains it’s even more worse..whole cluster fogs up.
I have one and have done 3500 km. Its a brilliant bike but I'm really dissapointed in the reliability of it. Its the perfect blend of sporty, off road capability and style. Its got the perfect amount of power for me and doesnt weigh much, it also sounds great for a single cylinder. Comparing my experience to yours The good: i have size 11 riding boots and no issues changing gears, no issues with the sidestand, no stalling issues. The bad: Horn has stopped working, the bike sometimes struggles a lot to cold start (over a minute of cranking the engine and then sometimes misfires a few times once it starts), it has started pumping out coolant from the overflow upon shutting off the engine it's winter here and less than 15°C so it's not overheating (there was 250ml of air in the radiator that i had to top up) My bike is currently at the dealership to have these issues fixed
Agree with you, Balaji. Same shoe size(UK 42), I struggled a bit & side stand which is quite unbalancing situation being 5'6"(168cms). Have to push weight on the right side to lift the stand and that added pressure on right toe. Any suggestions or feedback from your Scrambler group that seat height can be customised for 5.5/5.6" height people? I understand its a skill u need to know handling heavy bikes.. but traffic, weight and tip toe kinda situation will be uncomfortable right.. Speed 400 is alternate but scrambler give a horse riding feel. Did test ride twice but weight management and height concerns put me confused state.. placing feet half way on both the sides would give much confident.. please tell me slicing the seat a bit would solve? thanks in advance..
Hello I am a College going student of height 5'11 and 90kg. Which one do you recommend? Scrambler or Meteor or Himalayan? I want a good bike for few occassional road trips too. Which one is better bro? LIke is there any issue in meteor? if meteor is good i could do some cost cutting! Please help me with this
Is the engine warmed up fully after a cold start? What kind of bike vlogging are you doing that an engine need a full warm up after a cold start? Even smaller cc bikes need that.. psst
My only concern I'm facing is with side stand. Clocked 700kms. I have not faced any issues you have mentioned. Don't know who approved that stand design.
You've not asked for my advice, but in the spirit of biking comradeship here it is. On no account commit yourself to any payment towards this machine. Let alone buy it. It is not fit for purpose. From the perspective of someone on his 32nd bike, this machine has some major, fundamental problems that are downright dangerous (eg stalling on the move, feeble front brake, fragile swinging arm). These are not cosmetic problems. The quality of the dealerships is appalling, and there don't even seem to be any spare parts readily available. Don't touch it with a bargepole.
I am riding the scrambler x for 2k km and have not faced any single problem mentioned by you. The gear shift is butter smooth. Don't know why you are finding it difficult

Quick tip: Gear lever can be adjusted. When you visit the service center ask them to move the gear level a bit upwards and try it out.
Sure and thanks brother

Nice video, Bart. Very informative on the new machine
Do you also hear the ticking sound from the left side engine head when it's silent outside ? Some say it's a chain tensioner issue
No bro.
Bro that is normal, its the exhaust gases, their is a video on youtube check it. Thats not an issue.
Side stand I faced a lot as well
Hey bro I am planning to buy this in Canada much more expensive than India 😂😂
Thanks for sharing your experience

Seat height can't be altered bro. But the scram performance on touring is great
Thank you
I also face bike turning off during the test ride while the clutch was pressed.
When the engine is cold in second gear at time it turns off. Once it running.no issues. But triumph need to arrest
Any issues like 1) right side pulling 2) wobbling with or without using breaks
No bro. No issues such
Lot of information to digest. Very useful for those who are planning to buy the bike.
Still it's a great machine. Few concerns which can be sorted

The sudden shutdown of the bike i have observed in 2nd and 3rd gear . It completely cuts off the engine
