For many years I enjoyed his visits to our club, I once asked him what was his most requested piece, it was The Old rugged Cross. A wonderful entertainer at clubs and Organ week at canister. His opportunity to play the Kawai largest at Stoud town hall is memorable as the floor under our feet trembled at the volume. Happy days, I'm in my 90ss now and miss the clubs and organ holidays at caister and Blackpool.👏👏👏👏💕

Lovely stuff. Brought back many memories of Sandford park. I spent many hours maintaining tuning and enlarging the organ. Here we hear just the pipes plus piano in the final flourish. I also recorded Brian many times there for my Odin Music Label. Brian was a genius. Every note on his recordings with me and others was played by him. No automatic rhythms. He was a perfectionist and we would spend many days laying down tracks ready for mixing. A privilege for me to be sure. Thank you for this.

I agree he was an amazing musician in my book, I saw him play live many times and just loved his style he made it all look so easy! And for me it never was! Thanks, Kev.

How true if it was only that easy how he makes it look! But after years of trying myself, I know it's not! He had a real talent for sure and was such a nice chap to talk to as well many thanks Kev.

The organ was moved I believe some time ago to a cinema in Clevedon Somerset. If you would like to read more on the history of the Christie organ check this link out thanks Kev. www.cinema-organs.org.uk/venues/curzon-cinema/

I remember this organ when it was in the Antelope Hotel in Poole High Street. It was installed in a function/ball room and the regular concerts were always packed solid with holiday makers and locals. Before that it was in the Regent cinema at the end of Poole High street I think it's in Devon, somewhere, these days....When at the holiday camp. it was messed about with and given a midi set up. I understand it has been returned to something near its original spec, though when it was in the Grand Cinema is was 14 ranks. Not sure what it is now. I think it's smaller as the wood worm got a few of the ranks when it was left neglected in the cinema. I live in a mid Victorian house very near when the Grand Cinema stood. Wood worm is rampant in the old houses in the area, so I guess it was inevitable.
