BBC Tape Norfolk Wurlitzer Organ? This was passed on to me with a lot of other old BBC reel-to-reel tapes. Now all the BBC labels say just "Norfolk Wurlitzer Organ!" I am sure it's either The Ex Paramount Newcastle 3/19 Wurlitzer when installed at the Kitchen Brothers garage at Diss Norfolk. Or, more than likely, the Ex Paramount Leeds 3/19 Wurlitzer at The Thursford Collection Norfolk. I'm sur...

    What a superb organ she was,designed by Reginald Forrt.I know a fair amount of it still survives either on other organs or in a project to rebuild it in Leicestershire.

    Its the Diss wurlitzer,you can tell by how the sound is spread from the pipe chambers,the reverb is also pretty dead.

    6 is much too loud to record onto the cd. If you look at the recording level meter, it’s full and not moving. Your music is going to sound awful. I keep mine set to -1 to -3 depending on how loud the source is. Also, you don’t need to press pause twice to start a new track. You can just press the Track Increment button.

    In the early 70's I bought an all brass Aladdin with a brass shade and a brass smoke bell for our sailboat. It was fixed to the dinette table so it wouldn't fall over while sailing. I haven't been able to find a depiction of that model anywhere, and I'm sure it was authentic because I bought it new. I've always regretted selling it with the sailboat...

    My father took me to see this organ I was 16yrs at the time and it had just been installed. The Brothers who were lovely people said that if I could play the small electronic organ at the side ( I think also a Wurlitzer make) they would start up the pipe organ and I could play it. I past the test and they let me play this most wonderful instrument. Wow!!!!!! one of my best memories ever. Sadly it went to another venue around 10yrs later but nobody seems to know where it is now, I would love to find out, hopefully being stored ready for its next journey.

    Hi how many miles on a full tank on the freeman 22 with a 1100 petrol watermoto at 5 nots. On the theams just taking your time do you think you would get.?

    • @BramleyProductions
      @BramleyProductions 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, thanks for the interesting comment. Well, this is a tricky one as there are so many variables here so let me quote from the Watermota Date Performance Figures For Starters. Sea Wolf Petrol Engine. 1098cc R.P.M. B.H.P. Approximate Fuel Consumption 1,000 7 3.5 pints an hour. 2,000 19 4 Pints an hour. 3,000 30 5 pints an hour. So putting that in today's context 1 litre is roughly =1.75 pints. To work this out in Litres. Now you have to take into account things like headwinds river currents, age of the engine, to even things like is there a lot of growth on the bottom of the boat, or whether are you doing a lot of stop-start boating which will use more fuel how many on board or the weight of the boat.Old boats like Freeman tend to have adsorbed quite a lot of water into the Hull over the years so boats get heavier than when they were new? Those old Stainless steel Freeman Petrol tanks used to hold around 15 gals I think so that would get you a fair way but like I said so dependant on all the above factors. Some Friends of mine moved their NarrowBeam Freeman 22 from Oundle Marina on the Nene to the Coventry Canal they were two adults and two boys they did this one-half term it was the one in May the whole week there was a fearsome headwind against them coming up the Nene and the engine drank fuel there is no Petrol sold now on the River Nene they had to have their father in law in tow in his car driving to petrol stations getting fuel for them as they used so much. One reason I changed my Freeman Narrowbeam 22 old worn-out Watermota Seawolf petrol engine to a brand new Diesel engine but be warned that is very expensive back in 2006 when I did this the engine alone cost £4,500. I fitted the new Westerbeke 30B engine myself but all in with other bits and bobs I spent £5000! Which I knew I would never recoup when I sold the boat and I may have spent on fitting this new engine alone what the whole boat was worth at that time! But that aside, it was the best thing I ever did the boat was so reliable the new engine only drank a teacup full of Derv which I could also buy on the river. But not a decision to take lightly. Best wishes Kev.

      @BramleyProductions thank you so much for your reply. And the information as helpped alot, so really keep the revs down nice clean bottom when you can. @@markjordan9919 Yep that's about it really those Ford Watermota engines were dam good engines. I mean that later Seawolf 1100cc is just a marinized version of the Ford Escort Crossflow engine or in older Freeman's it was the Ford pre-Crossflow 105e Ford Anglia engine. They were a great company Watermota. I always used to go and have long chats with them at the London Earls Court boat shows back in the 1970s and early 80s They had so much knowledge! Shame that's all long gone along with Earls Court now as well. Happy days. There were a few of these 3/8 Granada Wurlitzers around, and some of them last purchased in 1937 I believe? As I understand it, they were basically 2 full manuals, but with the 3rd manual as a coupler and giving the appearance of a larger instrument as Wurlitzer had moved away from two manuals at this stage ? I guess it didn't fit in with the mighty Wurlitzer image? Nevertheless, these are lovely little organs !

    So helpful ,but how do I put in new wick ?

    • @BramleyProductions
      @BramleyProductions 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Very easy if you have the Aladdin 23 lamp just wind the old wick right up high and pull the wick winder out this clips in both sides of the wick on two small lugs! Do keep this you will need this for your new wick now just pull the old wick out! Now take your new wick carefully from the box and clip the wick winder on the two side lugs of the new wick take care not to damage or pull the two paper tabs off the bottom of the wick! Then line the wick up on the burner base so the wick winder lines up with the front wick raise the lower control turn knob! Then slide the two paper tabs down each side of the burner tube you can poke these down with something if needed and then pull the paper tabs out of the bottom wick slits on the burner base make sure the wick sits right and that wick winder will line up with the wick raise lower knob pulled more wick through the burner bottom try not to touch the top of the wick where the fame will be with you hands. Keep pulling each side of the wick from the bottom until you can get the wick winded low enough to engage when you have done this you can then turn the rest of the wick down with the wick winder knob. Keep looking inside the wick to see that the wick is sliding down the tube OK and that it's all clear sometimes the backing paper on the new wick can get ruckled up so watch out for this. That is it job done. Thanks for your most kind comment Kev.

I know at the time, the two organs were identical at 3/13 ranks but i guess it must be the ballroom itself but this organ has always been a favourite of mine,and i find it unforgivable that it was sacrificed for the Worthing build!

    If you remove the protruding bracket housing the shaft of the flywheel, next to the pinch wheel, thus loosening it, you'll be able to fish out the old belt and mount the new one through the gap that appears, without having to remove the panel. I've just done it on my TC-399 and the mechanism looks similar to your 377 :)
