Congratulations, Hickok! Your (and John’s) hard work and vision have resulted in a lifestyle that most of us now envy. I’ve personally had many opportunities throughout my life to follow various of my dreams, but have mostly allowed lethargy or else fear to hold me back. Kudos to you both for not allowing that to happen. Yes, life is good, but it’s even better when we work hard!

You sir, are an inspiration.. I have set up 3 ranges so far ( 15yd pistol, 100yd rifle, and 200yd longshot) due to your channel. HICKOK45 for President 2020
When I worked at a place running a CNC burny 10 machine and had scrap steel left over mainly 1/2" I would burn out different size circles and squares and if it was not hardened steel I would bring it home and harden it myself and put them on my range. It was great being able to get FREE steel targets. It was a heavy fab shop so we had just about any grade steel you wanted! I even fabricated a couple 4"x3" Bullet traps with a 1/2 steel plate at a 45 degree angle for the back to drive the bullets straight to the ground and for the front sides I used steel channel so when the boards were all shot up you can slide it out and slide a new one right in. Real easy! Your camera must make an optical illusion because your 80 yard gong looks further away then my last target that is 100 yards. I always thought that even on your main range!

I just started to watch Hickok 45 and what a breath of fresh air, a very informative and knowledgeable gentleman especially for the American gun culture, being a teacher he brings an, I think, educated approach also with associated life skills he has clearly lived through. I live in Australia and I love to shoot if I could have a compound/ range like yours, wow awesome I could shoot my guns on the way to getting my mail, awesome.We have very backward ideas/ notions about gun freedom- the ability to enjoy the sport and the culture without the criminal or thug overtones we seem to suffer in Australia. I'll never get to America and I'll never meet Mr Hickok, so for me Mr Hickok keep up the good work, you are an honest delivery of reason for a very much debated topic and much maligned lifestyle. Love your work.
Everyone favors the old one but this one is a little different and it will grow on us for sure. I love to see some pop up type targets there. Beautiful job on the range . Looks allot cooler there and it will be easier on you in the heat of the summer
You're only missing one thing...... You got to have a cowboy Target. Just a plain old gong can't draw on you. Lol! I can only speak for myself but I think I speak for almost all your subscribers when I say.... I appreciate the time that you spend to post these things for us to watch. I have had a great deal of fun over the past 12 years watching you. I've been educated a little bit along the way. And I have definitely been entertained. My three favorite videos.... Are probably when I first started watching. Absolute number one without a doubt has to be shotgun tree trimming. Then there was one on how to get a soccer ball out of a drainage ditch. And the very first one I ever watched was you shooting up a lawn mower that wouldn't start. For me personally the best and biggest thing that you've given me is the appreciation for older firearms. I know I commented some videos back.... About taking my daughter to the Chickamauga Battlefield. And for the first time going through that gun Museum I was enthralled. Every time I had been before I was kind of like "yeehaaylf.... Old guns so what." But this time with education and knowledge I was completely amazed and was able to pick out things that I didn't know before. So anyway...... Thank you for all that you do. I know I'm 3 years late to the game on this specific video, but I just wanna say- Hickok, when you say life is good it permeates into me. You truly have a slice of heaven out there, and it just goes to show no matter your age it's never too late to start doing something (i.e. making a TH-cam channel- that's doing pretty dang well actually). I hope you can continue to enjoy your 'slice of heaven' in good health, both you and your family
I have to say, I love the camera you film with. I think it's great that I'm able to actually watch the slower moving rounds travel through the air and impact the gong, and even occasionally see which way the bullet splatters in real time

Hickok is writing history! Well, I think it's a better range than the old one. Now it should be more difficult, to hit the far targets among the trees. 👍

Real NICE UNCLUTTERED RANGE. Like you said, flatter and room to roam. Moving and shooting is good to practice. Does not have to be jump and run. Good change up for range #2
I care about all of it. Love to see the property and the ranges. I have my own land that I've been setting up copy cat steel-plate-on-shepard-hook ranges on. Every night I leave out good coffee and donuts hoping Hickok will come by and quiz me. He never has. I am disappoint.

I wish I could keep my home range as clear as yours. Here, where I live in Kentucky, the grass grows as fast in the shade as everywhere else.
Eventually, Kentucky will discover lawn mowers and such. Just give it time. :-)
Roundup, Tordon, Ranger Pro, are all some good starting points. And keep the mower or brush-hog going. You'll be just fine.
