    I would imagine those are hard to adjust. The KYB Gas-a-Just are already too hard to compress, what more for those. Thanks for sharing. I think those dampers still work 10 years after.

    How are the shocks? I just bought a set for my mountaineer. My father has the ranchos.

      Monroe Gas magnums are the most disappointing shock Ive ever seen in my life, I agree with you fully. Ride bounced and rebounded like crazy.

    Install with the strap still on, you might need a jack to lift it up a little bit to get the bottom bolt on then cut the strap.

    It took everything I had to compress these around 2 inches.....very stiff.

  • @rickyg152

    Would they be good to prevent or limit axle wrap?

    • @warrenbuchanan8602
      @warrenbuchanan8602 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      shocks don't really make much difference axle wrap/spring wind-up/wheelhop , what you want ( and i see it looks like you are driving a ford super duty ) for leaf springs , is a set of ladder bars or traction bars for your rear end , specifically the type that has two bars or tubes on each side , one on the top of the axle tube and one on the underside . they will go a long way towards keeping the axle housing from twisting or rotating , and also limit the fore-and-aft movement , as viewed from the each side

  • @jayman32438

    They make a UNCOMFORTABLE ride. They're WAY too stiff. Hitting a pothole or something there's no absorption AT ALL you feel EVERYTHING on the road

    What's the difference between Monomax and Gas-A-Just?

      the monomax are stiffer . i have had both on the front of my vehicle before . i am sure that is why the monomax are always priced higher . the gas-a-just are probably firmer than about any factory-stock shock , but the monomax are even firmer . kyb claims up to 40% over factory shocks , which is quite a bit

    I had a set of these on a 3/4 ton 4wd and they were so stiff riding that I took them off. Did not like them.

      U should of gotten the gas-a-just then. I’m sure u already found ur solution

  • @12jrod79

    Nitrogen charged, thats why they are hard to compress, Not full damning fluid. Its always funny to see video of people who installed items they didn't research. Gas shocks are the newer type shocks, and mostly meant for vehicles who pull loads or sports cars, if your car was designed with the old style hydraulic those will run softer to help with body sway, and smooth the ride. But if your looking to pull heavy loads or improve your fuel economy then KYB are the best for the Job.

      How would shocks improve my fuel economy?

    • @12jrod79
      @12jrod79 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Arno Nym less vehicle sway witch would mean your engine would use less fuel, more sway more fuel
