Haydn is really the father of the symphony. The elegance and harmony of their compositions are amazing. Viva Haydn and his incredible and incomparable music. The symphonies are true musical masterpieces that provides us moments of unforgettable pleasure. The orchestra interpretation and direction are amazing.

Nothing picks me up like the final movement to a Haydn symphony! If you're ever low or listless choose one at random....it's a lovely game and it works wonders!

Observem que as sinfonias de Haydn transcendem no espaço e no tempo. Inacreditável que tais obras, principalmente as do período londrino, não sejam admitidas como românticas. Eu elevo o compositor ao grau de único classico-romantico de todos os tempos. Os demais, ou são clássicos, ou são românticos. Haydn é tudo !

This is one of my 10 favorites of the 104 numbered Haydn symphonies. #91 is a masterpiece like #97 in C Major & #98 in Bь Major which are also in my top 10 favorites. The ebullient good spirits and even pretend ending are proof of Haydn's light-hearted but deep, utterly masterful music in the early 1790's. But even after symphony #104 he completed 2 more excellent string quartets, op.77 and the excellent cantata, Die Jahreseitsen, The Seasons. Beethoven only outlived Haydn by 11 years. I consider no symphony superior to my 10 Haydn favorites. But everybody is entitled to their own preferences.
