There is some sort of aquaculture project close. I'm unsure what is cultivated there. I once interacted with one of the operators, who seemed hostile, so I'm guessing that it's not a legal operation, but don't really know anything else about it. I could be wrong. It is an estuary, salt water, from the bay, which is always connected to the bay, with very little fresh water runoff. so the tide goes up and down, sometimes at much as about 6 feet. ships can be anchored there for various reasons. often waiting their turn in the limited port facility. one was abandoned for a while but is gone now. I've been thinking about flying lower, read the names, and then look up the registry, and history of each ship. Sound interesting ?
Yes, I sold the prototype to pay for a family's medical expenses, but planning a next version. Have components, just need sanity and time, both are in short supply lately. hence the low quality of my videos.
Ha, yes, I think about that a lot too, especially if the boat's radar can track my plane. I often fly off in a different direction and stay on that course for several KM, just to be sure that the ship thinks that I came from a different direction. not sure why... just seems prudent. I have not experienced any issues near the ships or near radar. no failsafes, and no loss of video, or telemetry. I did lose an engine over the water near a ship once, but that was vibration related, and needed more loctite.
The geography you fly out of always interests me. Are those oyster beds? Salt flats? Why aren't those cargo ships underway?
