    Updates & Community Suggestions
    1) The monastary buildings in Temples has up to +18 plague resistance which is county-wide and also stacks with the Hospices giving up to +43 if you have lv 8 monastary + lv 8 hospital. With 2 temples you'd have +86 plague resistance already and an easy +20 from an excellent court physician! Thanks so much to @gijskramer1702 for pointing this out to me!
    2) I forgot to add if you have a mystic trait physician who has 15+ learning and the physician trait, you can take 'mystic' treatment option which is the 'risky' option except no downsides ('risky' success gives you wounds/disfigurement/etc and 'risky' failure is even worse). So you can take that option over the 'safe' option for even better results. Otherwise, in general 'safe' treatment will help you survive with the lowest risk. You just need to survive the infection period so you can become immune/temp immune.
    3) If you need more tips on inviting physicians, I have a small section on 'how to invite unwilling persons' in my 'Immortality Guide'. Thanks to DefaultProphet for reminding me about mystic physicians.

    With a good or above physician I think I’ve had drastic measures go wrong maybe 5% of the time? Like it’s shocking when it doesn’t work

    • @breadgodgaming
      @breadgodgaming  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The risky treatment option math is the only one I can't fully understand since I'm not a coder. At the highest, I have it calculated as 90% success (vs 96% for safe), but you can get the wounded trait which makes the health buff almost the same as a safe treatment except you also may get other traits like disfigured etc. So that's why for most players I'd recommend mild.
      Mystic physicians are super good and you made me realize I did not include that so I may consider re-uploading this video completely. I got complacent since I have an entire section on physicians in my 'Immortality Guide' and I didn't want this video to be too long. Thanks for your input and making me think! I appreciate your time

      @@breadgodgaming For the personal treatment of a severe desease (like smallpox or even bubonic plague), I recommend going for the drastic treatment if you have a good court physician and the illness has put you near death, because the drastic treatment will put you all the way back up to fine, while the non riskiy treatment will only get you back up to poor, which means that you can still die each month and that even the slightest mishap that gives you another health penalty will be your end. Additionallly, the drastic treatment has a chance to cure a curable illness instantly, which may be your only chance if you happened to be already at poor health before contracting the illness.
      The drastic treatment by the way is also good if a character suffers from cancer. I once had a genius character who contracted cancer in his early thirties and had him live up to 65 , when he got the infirm trait on top of the cancer and then died within few months (due to repeated side effects of the risky treatments, he was at that time disfigured, onelegged, oneeyed and castrated, but he was still highly effective in anything that didn't involve physical prowess).

    • @breadgodgaming
      @breadgodgaming  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I agree with all the things you have said, I believe the original comment is actually for drastic measures when asked how to manage a plague's treatment. Plague treatment chances are different than disease treatment for a ruler where I wholeheartedly agree a competent mystic physician can always use mystic / drastic treatment for great results.

    Do you happen to know how fatalities are calculated? Not sure if it’s abstract people or actual characters dying. Seems a bit weird an apocalyptic plague that is spread all across Italy would only kill 100 people.

    • @breadgodgaming
      @breadgodgaming  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Actual characters but there's no easy way to see who died from the plague. You can indirectly see the plague's victims by using the character finder, filtering for disease and tracking all the infected characters (tedious and not feasible). Because how health works in CK3, a lot of victims may survive if the disease only puts everyone into the 'poor' stage. In prior testing of lifespan, when my characters got into the 'poor' stage they on average survived about 2 years before dying. So if the plague you had was only giving a 'severe' penalty then most people will survive versus things like bloody flux/smallpox give a critical/catastrophic penalty

    Plagues add so much micromanagement... Constant popups, physician pestering you to care for the sick, courtiers dying, champions dying, heirs dying.

      @breadgodgaming  17 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Oh for sure and half the time it isn't even your plague so I just ignore it when I notice it's not my title (unless I care about the realm development). Also are the ones where adultery has happened and my faith is clearly accepts adultery from both men and women :\ I was hoping the new update would let us ignore some popups but instead it just changes the popup type for the ones that weren't crazy intrusive anyways.

    Hospices (in a city) doesn't seem to spread restistance to other baronies of the county? Mouse over shows it only impact on resistance in the holding/barony itself. Stacking in Countys with lots of baronies doesn't seem to work anymore
    Edit: They changed it with 1.12.5

  • @Auridian

    I would rather marry a courtier or knight to a physician. It's easier and more economical than using the decision to find a physician.

    • @subspace666
      @subspace666 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      often enough i noticed when you have decent diplomacy and or legitimacy you can click the decision to find and just bypass it and just invite them for free, even if you cant often you can pay for them to come and its like 1/2 price then the decision. works with all of them except wetnurse since those are killed for some reason after the decision. guessing they will patch the rest like this later.

    • @breadgodgaming
      @breadgodgaming  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      You are both correct. In my 'Immortality Guide' I also describe some methods on inviting unwilling courtiers which include 1) marriage using courtier/family/etc 2) abduction 3) seduction 4) hook fabrication 5) imprisonment 6) murdering target's spouse. Subspace666 makes a good point too about legitimacy. Thanks to the new mechanic, there can be a big bonus to marriage acceptance so you can just have the target physician married to one of your courtiers. And yea wet nurses are so weird for me, they disappear the most and I frequently have to hire a new one

    • @subspace666
      @subspace666 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@breadgodgaming not sure if its a coincidence about wetnurse and also them being lowborn, seems the game might be trying to get rid of excess pop for optimization for later game but kinda makes sense that lowborns are less important. maybe wetnurse are created on the fly out of nowhere when you click the decision.

    • @breadgodgaming
      @breadgodgaming  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Idk how the optimization works either I used to think that less people meant less calculations since I would always notice the game starts slowing down in the high/late medieval era, but even with black death killing thousands it didn't seem to help me too much. Maybe it's dependent on rulers and their families and courtiers are just a drop in the bucket?

    I'm currently doing the AIEOU & Me achievement run (start as Werner Hapsburg of Aargau and form Archduchy of Austria without declaring wars) and two generations of my heirs were wiped out by random plagues. Interestingly (RNGesus) ONLY my male kids died, so during both successions realm was horribly split among my daughters (who were matrilineally married luckily). What makes it even more egregious is that the second time around I had THREE sons and four daughters, and ALL THREE sons died. The daughters did not even get the sickness,
    Almost as if God was desperately trying to avoid a repeat of history lol

  • @Totidoful

    Thanks! Since hopitals/temples now only give plague resistance only to the holding they're in, is there any point to building these buildings in secondary baronies (that I don't hold personally) in my counties?

    • @breadgodgaming
      @breadgodgaming  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes since the infection rate penalties stack per barony for a county so at least building a hospital in the other holdings means avoiding the 80% infection rate at least. Imagine 7 baronies all having the 80% penalty versus 7 with the 50% penalty. TLDR having just hospitals makes it a bit better, but trying to get every barony to 51% is tough unless you optimize for it. I'll have a little section in an economic video on optimizing plague resistance!
      I'm definitely going to have to add an updated plague video...

    There are also health boosts in the Dynasties legacy?

    • @breadgodgaming
      @breadgodgaming  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Are you referring to my 'superhuman dynasts' comment? That was referring to making a genetics program with your dynasty so that all members of your dynasty have really good genes, especially herculean (huge health boost), pure blooded (small health boost), witch coven (medium disease resistance), and strong blood (small health boost). There is no dynasty legacy that directly increases your health, but indirectly the blood dynasty legacy track promotes a good genetics program. Hope that answers your question!

      If they're in your court and you're their responsible guardian (like you're their parent) then you should get a pop up. If for some reason they are not in your court like being tutored at someone else's court then it will fall onto that liege. Sometimes it may be finicky if they're visiting someone or at some event or something it seems to fall on that court's physician which means sometimes randomly your kids get infected wound or something :(
