Both Tyler and Kanye had loving mothers man. My mom is like that too. She always been by my side, and we went through rough shit. I love myself. I don't just feel love towards ME, I mean I perform acts of love for myself. Deep breathing, music, asking for money, learning new shit. It's all love. See, "be yourself" don't mean you fully KNOW yourself. You will grow, and change. I think it just means, embrace and accept who you are now, even if you don't know everything or you have racist thoughts or you pee your pants when you finish peeing (just a little bit).
Being yourself doesn't automatically mean being a wild, loose, hyperactive silly clown either. Being yourself can also mean being quiet, reserved, thoughtful... as long as you're comfortable in your skin however that looks.
without tyler i wouldnt have had that mindset and tbh ive never been happier. its brought so much joy and success in my life and really i owe it all to tyler
I think him talking about the nurturance he got from his parent was really awesome. We always hear people talk about the lack of something growing up, and how it stifled our light or creativity, and it's nice to hear from someone like Tyler who is so creative and free in his expression and following his intuition- that having that "it's okay to explore" signal from his parent really made him feel safe to do so. What it is is as children we look to our parents as God almost, what they say is law, its key, it's the ultimate guidance but we fail to realize that they were children too and it was the same thing for them. If they told us that our expression was too loud, or bold or curious, we internalized that as the ultimate law and truth. We build up these walls to protect ourselves from doing the "wrong thing" based on that key foundational point. So, for me it's been so crucial to understand that our parents are people like us, who have some kind of creative spark or potential (because GOD is creation, love, and curiosity- and we are of GOD) ** within them that they either never felt free to explore as children, and they imposed those same false beliefs on us, that we then perceived as truth. It's the unlearning, and understanding thet your whole essence and truth IS creation. IS that brightness inside of you that is dying to go forth and be expressed. The only *wrong* thing you can do, is stifling or limiting that potential. BE EXPRESSED- NO LIMIT.
I dunno why old heads hate?! This generation had Tyler and Vince Staples. If you take the time to listen to them being the music you’d see that the future is bright.
His hot 97 interview last year is a MUST WATCH if you don't know what he means by referance point . He explains the name of his album in the interview too.
Peterson taught me that the fool is the precursor to the king. Keep in mind that the fool is the only person in the kingdom that can make fun of the king….

Tyler is the father figure we all need in our lives
He's an eternal teenager himself, i dont think father figure is the right term. He sure have some good social advices tho
I used to be like this but some friends I really looked up to at the time cut me down HARD. Careful who you trust, even your own blood can turn green.
good words 🙏🏾
Why did they turn on you? How that's related to you being confident? Makes no sense
