- This music came to me during April in the time of our world
lockdown, at a time when we all very much needed comfort and hope -
as we still do!
My grateful thanks to Leon Frijns for his beautiful playing here!
My grateful thanks too to Frans Frijns and Philip Schwartz for their invaluable
help in editing the music and video!
Originally a Solo, it is dedicated to two good friends and
has been beautifully played here on youtube in the solo version
by Günter Geurts.
May God bless our world in a time of painful rebirth and hope
of better things to come!

Yes, a lot of water1 :-) This was a challenge to my old rheumy fingers, but Leon plays so beautifully that it worked, and the editors did a splendid job! Dear Maria,
I just discovered your compositions for guitar a few days ago. They are wonderful. Simple and subtle at the same time, like little gems, humble but full of beauty. Actually I got the score of Canzone d'Amore and I'm already working on it, such a delightful piece...I'm not an advanced player, yet I find that many of your pieces are at my reach. They prove that valuable and qualitty compositions are not necessarily technically very difficult.
I saw a couple of interviews with you on the internet, where you describe your shocking discovery of the guitar when you were a young music teacher, how you fell in love with the instrument and how it meant a turning point for your career and your life. I can understand all those feelings. I had a similar experience myself as I was learning to play the piano and eventually came across the classical guitar sound and repertoire, I gradually turned my attention more and more to the guitar and today I'm totally focused on it. Like you, I also feel that nothing compares to the guitar sound. All the music is condensed in it.
Thank you very much for your compositions and also for your charm and the positive feelings you transmit with your music and your smile. Thank you for sharing all that beauty that "was there and came to you". With people like you there's hope in this world.

Danke für eine sehr schöne gefühlvolle Komposition und Spiel. Oft sind es die scheinbar einfachen Klänge und Melodien, die uns berühren, oder? Es gelingt dir so gut in deinen Kompositionen, um diese ursprünglichen Melodien zu finden! Für mich die Meisterschaft im Komponieren! Ich spiele sehr gerne deine Nummmern, weil ich mich beim Spielen auf das Wesentliche konzentrieren kann.
