    Very nice tutorial. I like that you speak slowly and clearly. Thank you!

    I had to come back for another look. Thank you for this tutorial. I laid out the pattern according to your instructions and can easily get a short sleeved tee with one yard. Thanks for the tip about the neck band too.

    I really enjoyed your video, however, being a beginner I was waiting to see the stitching of the neckline and the over stitching of neckline and hems. These steps seem more difficult to me. I thank you for your verbal instructions on how to do each of these and will try to take it a step at a time.Your shirt came out beautiful, Thank you

    Thank you so much for making this tutorial! I have my fabric I’m just waiting for the pattern. I’m eager to start sewing. I really appreciate that the lark pattern works for the 20% knit I have been looking all over and most knit patterns want you to have a 50% stretch or 40% stretch or something like that. It’s very frustrating. But it’s nice to know that the lark pattern will work for your 20% stretch knit.

      Yes - the Lark is a basic classic tee pattern. The only time I want more stretch in a knit is for more drape, like for a jacket, or to allow a tighter neckline to stretch more.

    Thanks for the neckband tip. I've made a million (ok not really) Lark's but always with a fabric containing lycra. Looking forward to making one with your jersey when my order arrives.

    Making my second lark tee shirt this morning, everything is cut out. My first one came out beautifully with 3/4 sleeves and a v-neck. Now I’m making the long sleeve with the scoop neck. Your tutorial is spot on! I’m not using a serger BTW, just my sewing machine with 1/4 inch seams…maybe a tad wider.😅

      Enjoy your tee shirts. There is nothing like a tee shirt that fits. This reminds me that it's time to make a few more!

    I just made a mock up and my v-neck binding went all wrong. I’m going to add an inch as you suggested!

      The neckband on tee shirts is where our jersey knit doesn't allow for enough stretch. I lay the tee shirt flat, measure around the neckline, and compare the measurement to the neckband piece. I add half the distance of the "difference" to allow the neckband to still stretch, but not excessively.

    Wonderful video! I feel confident to try this pattern with your tips. In the video you mentioned that you were going to hem the sleeve and then serge the seams of the sleeve, did you find that it was easier to do than what the pattern called for?
    Thank you!

    • @sewbatikfabric
      @sewbatikfabric  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes - when I'm not using a cover stitch to finish the hems - I always finish the edge of the sleeve hem/garment hem with an overlock stitch. I then serge the side seams and finish the hem by pressing it under and topstitching in the round using my sewing machine.
      HINT: if the sleeve opening doesn't fit on my sewing machine to top stitch it - it won't fit my arm.

    Many of your tshirts have been sewn with rayon instead of knit although the pattern calls for knits. I’ve been trying to see about adjustments on your website as well as theirs but cannot seem to see any. Are you just adjusting your pattern size according to the finished garment measurements?

    • @sewbatikfabric
      @sewbatikfabric  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes - I always work from the finished garment measurements. I have my own preferences for ease based on the substrate used. For example, I like 2-5" ease when working with a woven (pullover tee shirts) and I like 0-3" ease when working with knit. I add the easy to my body measurements and use those numbers for sizing.
      There are time switching substrate will not work. But, for tee shirts - most will.
