Heading to Providence this Thursday 10/27😀first visit. Looks like a beautiful place. We have considered moving there due to its amazing location and on the ocean. Plus we made a friend in Ptown that lives there’s.
Very beautiful town. I wish my hometown Mombasa was like that. You won't get tired of touring the town with well manicured lawns, spacious and clean roads etc.
Aaaaahhh, Providence !!! A place full of bittersweet memories of my first love and college, my first apartment and roommates, my first $400 car, trying to keep it alive and learning where I could legally park it. I don't miss Providence all that much but do get a bit nostalgic whenever I am back in that part of the country.
I use to live just across the Border from Providence in Massachusetts, only a few minutes from downtown Providence. I can tell you Providence didn't always look as nice as it does in this video. I haven't been there in years, but the video shows there has been, a tremendous amount of urban renewal and construction. I don't know how it is now, but it was an extremely politically corrupt city for a number of years. I was very impressed by Providence in this video, the city has done an excellent job in its renewal. One thing that doesn't change though, and always got on my nerves in New England. The horrible conditions of the roads. Always patched over and in disrepair. In some areas you would find numerous pot holes, that would destroy your vehicle. I could not stand driving in the area, and would use transit whenever I could. Otherwise Providence and New England is a wonderful place to call home.
Lol this is funny bc I’m the opposite, I get mad when I watch pov with “downtown” in the title and then 80% of the video is everywhere AROUND downtown but not actually downtown 😂😂
This state seems kinda weird for me like some state of mind but looks not bad tho, maybe this is cause other people make fun about Rhode Island and other stuff
@@mindracer5220 there is quite a few bad areas and the poverty rates are around 20% also meaning the crime is high. However, there are some good areas in the city and it is a lot better than many other places in the coy

I promise you, providence is an exceptionally safe city. You are just extremely sheltered and most likely are scared of minorities. Also, statistically, it is not even in the top 50 most “criminal cities” in America, you should get out of your bubble!
@@larssandvik1347 I'm not a driver at all, so all drivers make all cities worse, to me. But wow is it really only a 45 minute drive from Newport? I think Newport is great, but so is Providence. Your notion of Providence as crime-ridden is just ignorant, and sounds like the sort of thing one hears from provincial-minded people from Johnston or Smithfield or West Warwick. I'd expect someone from Newport to know better.
I like how bright the architecture is

What a lovely town! I has absolutely fallen in love!❤
I went to Johnson and Wales University in 1999 and I loved Providence so much (I'm from central MA so I've travelled there before but not too much)

People that believe Providence is bad have never spent time in a real City, and probably never leave the suburbs
I lived there in the 80s Atwells ave was nothing but Italians Pure Italian Mafia ran that area. Loved growing up in Federal Hill
Beautiful, cozy town. I had lived there for two years, 2011~2012, and many people called me CHINO since I look Asian...definitely not a good memory.
That's sad af

Racism is rampant.
Yeah sadly all of that area up on the east coast is racist (well most of them)
