  • Dep Art Gallery presents an interview with Valerio Adami, made in his home-studio in Paris, a few steps from Sacré-Cœur and Montmartre.
"I think I was born, after all, with a pencil in my hand...".
Valerio Adami (Bologna, 1935) talks about his bond with painting, deep, necessary and consolidated in over sixty years of career. Through the artist's voice we discover his vocation for drawing, an essential element of his works, in which marked black lines delimit figures and landscapes; his love for music, which is charged with an emotional value to the point of becoming a true childhood memory; for travel, which becomes an experience and a source of inspiration, until it is impressed on the sheet of paper and on the canvas. Adami accompanies us in his atelier through the ties he has forged throughout his life, the great characters he has met and portrayed.
The interview was produced on the occasion of the exhibition "Valerio Adami. Image and Thought", curated by Gianluca Ranzi, at Dep Art Gallery until April 14, 2022.
