I was there. Crowd of almost 6,700. A Bognor Regis Town fan through watching them on holidays and weekends away down the south coast. The Rocks had beaten Swansea City, complete with former Arsenal and Aston Villa keeper Jimmy Rimmer in goal, in a first round replay watched by an unofficial 5,100 inside Bognor's ground. This Reading game is coverage from former southern and south east England ITV region TVS (who replaced Southern), commentary by the late Peter Brackley, who not only worked for ITV but did the mic work for Channel 4's Itailan Serie A Sunday afternoon games and was also an execllent Norman Wisdom mimic. I've always lived in what was then the London Weekend region, and was spooked when Brian Moore announced this as the second game on "The Big Match" after a Liverpool defeat to Independiente in the Club Cup final in Tokyo!

Arthur, then you know we missed a chance to make it 3-3, and it would have been different game without VJ . That was the Rocks best team. Saw all the FA cup games that year. Swans away was good, in that empty ground; and the replay is one of my fondest memories.

A very rare occasion this, when TVS took a break from assuming everybody in the south east wanted to watch Southampton, Portsmouth or Brighton...and let's face it it only got covered because Bognor were playing. About a year before my time, although I do remember watching it on tv.
