Hahaha I've still got a long way to go, but I hope to continue to improve my content and give what people would enjoy and benefit from watching! And you're welcome, I hope it helps!
Accuracy is Everything! Back in the day, we used manual typewriters (which taught us to hit each key with equal force), and real paper, which is very unforgiving of errors. Do it right the first time or waste time doing it over!
Very relatable. I began learning typing in first & second grade, (1989-1991), the school I went to must of been under-funded or something, cause we had only one computer, a couple of IBM Selectric Typewriters and the rest, can only be described as looking like the Reminton Standard Portable.(circa 1920's) We all took turns at the different machines. So only one student at a time could use the PC, while the rest of use struggled trying to correctly align the paper into those antiques, and constantly using white out. LOL.
@@InfoSecGSOI got a typewriter as a gift back in 2020. I’m for sure going to pop that bad boy out so it can show me how much I still need to learn when it comes to perfecting my typing 😂. Once I master that thing typing on my Mac will feel like a breeze.
I was watching the video with the preview mode, but had to specifically click on it and press like for just how straightforward it was. Good stuff, thanks for making it :D

Really cool tutorial. I was 12 watching this (my birthday was 2 months ago) and I used to get around 50WPM. Watching this video got me around to 70WPM on a lazy day and 100+ on a good day. Really cool Straight to the point.
I totally agree with this short burst thing, I use Dvorak (my first keyboadd layout) I was told to do long tests, I couldn't do more than 100wpm on 60 second tests due to the stiffness of the board I was using, but also my consistency was terrible its been about 4 years since then and I type upwards of 220wpm in bursts and like 160-170 on longer or more complex phrases, I did this for mobile aswell and my wpm went from 40-75/80 in like a month, and now I consistently type at around 75 while writing stuff like this : )
You can get real sentences in monkeytype also. Just change the mode to "Quote" instead of "words" or "time." You can also click on "punctuation" while in "words" or "time" mode and it adds some random punctuation too.
Pure value man! My current WPM is 65~75 (Imma say 70 for good measure). Im gonna apply some of your tactics and update my speed in a month Halfway update: Got a new computer with a different keyboard layout, got used to it. Averaging 85 wpm, can I reach 100?

I’m going to use some of my tactics to get faster at typing in the future. I use a school Chromebook to type and my fastest WPM is 141. My fastest WPM on a 5 minute typing test is 98
the syllables typing thing is super helpful. when i type i notice that i type wayyy faster if i just think of a word rather than thinking of the letters of the word
Thank you, I'm happy it helped :) Haha that's a normal question to ask, not personal at all, but nope i was born in the UK and I'm not Indian either ahaha

Yeah this is a problem for most of us, if there's a lot of mistakes then it means you've developed the wrong muscle memory which reinforces those errors. Best thing to do is slow down a little bit to type right and it'll make you better and faster over time so that you don't have to be just lucky if you get me!
As much as I want to learn this skill, I don't think I will use it in actual work situation since I'm working as blacksmith 😂 But it's still looks cool tho
I get irritated when I can’t push my new goal. I average between 70-75wpm. I’m trying to push it to 80+ wpm. I’m getting a new keyboard tomorrow. Does it make a difference of using a new keyboard?
Bro, what's the rush? :) EDIT: Consider how much faster you'd be able to type if you were using Dvorak. QWERTY's key layout is absolutely miserable, while Dvorak has the most commonly used letters on the home row and close to the center of the keyboard.
Hmm maybe you're right, but I wonder if there's diminished returns in learning a new set of key layouts. I think abovd 160-200wpm then it becomes somewhat unnecessary for real life use
@@Salim_Ahmed No doubt. If you transcribe manuscripts for a living and are paid by, say, the page, then it would make sense--but for real world application you're basically fine where you are.
Haha yeah for sure for specific situations would help i agree! In my case tho when i become a doctor I'll have to keep using qwerty anyway as all hospitals use that so would personally make more sense
It is based off your personal preference of how comfortable your hands are. The dvorak is designed to be more efficient but the QWERTY seems to be more comfortable
you shouldnt just focus on just typing test bursts btw, you should focus on re learning how to type (10 fingers and/or more efficient keyboard layout like colemak), then learn how to type slow to type faster, because you should focus on the innacuracies you make when typing to minimalise them edit: I've watched the full video and you've answered my critics anyway, very useful channel I've subbed, great jjk episode release as well lol
