She’s always loved people, it’s her main character trait. @@roonkolos the point is she went through those same situations with other characters and formed strong relationships with them, just like she’s done now with Seyka, just a different type of relationship, often your interested in people platonically, sometimes it’s romantically, and Aloy found someone she had a spark with. The second game has done a great job of humanising Aloy, which she needed. This is part of that.

She’s sensible, and capable, and definitely not gullible, but that doesn’t make her untrusting. Seyka proves herself to be trustworthy. Her whole character ark in the second game was to be more open to others companionship. She’s become less self reliant and stubborn against help, and that’s opened her up to be able to recognise and act on her feeling towards Seyka.

Its because the terraforming system isnt fully functional. My main issues is that it felt rather forced as they only knew each other like 2 or 3 days. I also just sincerely hope this was their plan for her character all along and not some kind of retcon for woke points, which has become a problem in media the last 6 years or so now. I have zero problem with gay people, but I don't like when stories get watered down by characters only standout feature being their sexuality. Rainbow capitalism is obnoxious but some media does LGBT relationships right by not trying to exaggerate and over-highlight it for progressive brownie points. Whatever the case, this doesn't ruin the narrative for me but there's a difference between genuinely well written LGBT characters and ones that are written that way to mark a checkbox. I'm hoping it's the former in this case. I guess we'll see where they take it in the next game.
I like this comment, honestly. Makes more sense then most of the butt hurt people out there. My thoughts: Even in zero dawn it was clear that homosexuality existed inside this universe. Aloy meets characters both male and female that flirt with her and there are canonically established side characters that are gay/in gay relationships. Aloy thus far always brushed love aside and (besides Avad) never had the option to 'fall' for someone throughout the first game. During Forbidden West Aloy was confronted with what love can look like first hand because of Varl and Zo (Relationships in general were a foreign concept because of the whole being outcast by your tribe thing and having to save Meridian, The West). And of course we learn that Elizabet was in a relationship with a woman. That obviously doesn't necessarily mean that Aloy has to be gay as well but it, again, further established that homosexuality was not a foreign concept for this universe. Now though, Aloy needs to save the entire planet and she cannot do that alone --> Hence why the second game basically forces her to make permanent alliances and accept help in the first place. She actually makes friends (In the first game Aloy clearly didn't fully grasp that these guys were her friends, which I think can be seen by the fact that she just bolted after defeating Hades without telling her 'friends' or anyone for that matter. So with forbidden West Aloy now fully sees people she likes as friends and is actually open to these relationships. She let's her guard down you could say. Now in the DLC Aloy is obv. stressed because of nemesis and then she meets a person that is ambitious, has an undeniable sense of purpose, is driven and is shunned by the Quen for reasons that make no sense (from Aloys perspective considering how she grew up). Sounds familiar? I think the reason why Aloy shows interest for the first time might be because a) Relationships in general aren't a foreign concept anymore or something she has to be defensive about b) The world is kind of ending so I'm guessing it's reasonable that you wouldn't go on 10 dates before becoming a thing and whilst I don't truly think love at first sight exists, attraction at first sight sure does (some people just feel chemistry like that) c) The person she falls for is someone she strongly identifies with and that stands on equal ground (Moral compass etc) that person just happens to be a woman And bonus d) Throughout the entire West and Meridian every tribe knows about Aloy. Be it the 'Red head' or the 'savior of meridian' people have a certain picture in their head that Aloy kind of feels pressured to live up to. Seyka doesn't know about anything like that. She doesn't associate Aloy with what happened in the west or in meridian. Seyka, throughout the DLC, might have figured something like that out but not right from the beginning so in a sense I guess you could say that Aloy can 'relax' around her In general, I don't rly mind seeing Aloy with a woman. Don't care if she ends up with no one at all, however, Aloy is a character that you play not create. So there is a story that exists and if the creators say Aloy and Seyka are endgame then that's what it is. I hope they further flush out Seyka's character in the third game and that there is actual growth in their relationship. I do see why people think it's rushed but I also saw enough evidence that supports that this might not be so rushed after all. Yk world ending shit and all that 'we're kinda f*cked' really puts things in perspective and probably makes you set your priorities new.

The only thing is that while Elisabet was always loner and there's hints of her being gay, none of that really developed into something concrete until Forbidden West and this DLC came out just a year after, so again, my only hope is they didn't start the alleged gay retcon they started making FW, is my only reservation. Again, I hate woke capitalism but do enjoy when character love stories are written well regardless of sexual orientation, and I just felt like this felt rushed. I would have felt the same way regardless of whether or not Seyka was a guy or not. Other games are likely mad because it's not uncommon to see this kind of thing in modern media all the time to boost ESG scores or appease the Twitterati. Those insanely woke people hold a lot of power over creating media reaction and buzz and people can't just hand wave that reality away as if it doesn't exist when we clearly know cancel culture does exist, at this point. I have a few close gay friends and I even have these kinds of conversations with some of them, so it's no like I'm anti-gay or have an inherent problem with homosexuality, I just want us to get to a point in society where people don't feel the need to water down narratives trying to hit an intersectional checkbox versus just writing good characters that just happen to also be straight/gay. You can understand people's frustration when there's so many people in the media with this kind of weird savior complex that, to me, ends up being kind of condescending and pandering in a way. I long for a society where it's no longer a big deal or anything crazy and we all treat each other exactly alike. I think that they shouldn’t have done this since it speeds up the pace of the game while not following anything else. She was a better character without any romance, as there was still time for growth in her character and thinking.

I have no problem with her being gay. I do have a problem with how forced and out of character this feels. Throughout her journey she has pushed away everyone close to her, especially those who made romantic passes with her. Her mission to her transcended any need and interest in romantic attachments. Yet she suddenly fall for a girl she has known for a few days? They didn't do this because it felt right for the character, they didn't earn this, they did this to get in bed with the lgbt community. Nothing more.

HZD seemed to lay a foundation of sorts for Varl to be Aloy's mate. She says that he has made an impression on her when talking to Rost's grave and she wants to show him the secrets of the Old Ones, extending him an offer that she doesn't give to anyone else.
Due to having a choice, there’s nothing to say this is actually the canon ending. Now before you guys come and say that there’s nothing to say it’s not either, you’re right. Even so, this isn’t who Aloy has been for the 2 games we played so feels more like a fanfic to appease representation. That being said, Aloy has the weight on her shoulders and doesn’t have time to romance. Also, if it was intended, it wouldn’t happen in a DLC with a character she just met. Honestly, it would have been better had she ended up with someone like Erend or even Kotallo because she has grown with them. Heck, I’d even take Alva as weird as she came across. Beta is her literal identical twin and Zo is pregnant with Varl’s child. Talanah is trying to pursue a man and that covers everyone important to Aloy…… no I ain’t forgot Sylens but it’s Sylens so….
This one scene is pretty much the only thing I heard about the DLC. I haven't played it, but from only knowing that, here are my thoughts. I don't care if Aloy is gay. She's a genetic clone of Elizabet Sobeck so it really wouldn't come off as that much of a surprise. I also don't think she's asexual. I think she's definitely capable of loving someone romantically. However, she has so much put onto her shoulders. So much responsibility that she wouldn't really have time for something like that. Besides, the thing about Aloy is that she loves life and values it above all else. I personally just don't see Aloy having a romantic relationship with anyone. Unlike other comments on this video, gay relationships don't ruin games. Is it kinda odd that most relationships in this series have been implied as being gay? A little, but it doesn't really matter. Aloy is just like Elizabet Sobeck. She has more important things to focus on. She's not incapable of love, but doesn't have the time to commit to it as she has other way more important responsibilities.
@@Kira_Official_ I just played the DLC a few days ago for the first time. Honestly, after playing it, the choice I made makes perfect sense for Aloy. She shuts Seyka down because she’s overwhelmed by needing to save the world and only once the world is saved then she can be with a romantic partner. That’s just Aloy’s personality which we saw throughout the games. It felt really canon when I picked that choice especially with how Aloy responds. For most of the DLC, Seyka felt annoying and more of a hindrance but even so, she became solidly developed that I could see why people want her with Aloy. My biggest issue is you give us possible love interests throughout 2 main games which she turns down for the need to save the world from a threat then you give her a lover in the DLC when the biggest threat is now on its way? That makes it seem like we just weren’t Aloy in that DLC. Also even if she’s a clone of a queer person that wouldn’t automatically make her queer. Since it’s ultimately up to choices, We (the player) should get the choice who Aloy ends up with in the end during game 3. I think that would give everyone the best of both worlds

In the 3rd game, we will see how they address this and if she had a false positive with Seyka and now we have the full choice to pursue one of the love interests from the main games or if they’re gonna double down on Seyka. Overall, it’ll be good to see what route they take. Even so, I hope they leave it open for people to make their choices on who they want to be with

Honestly I don’t agree with this but not for the same reason the homophobic crybabies have. Aloy just seems like someone who would not be in a relationship with anyone. It makes more sense to me if she was aroace (asexual). Not because she doesn’t need love or because she’s a strong woman who doesn’t need anyone, she already has all the love anyone can have with her companions and her sister, Aloy’s personality just clashes with intimacy and the way she acted towards others made me think she was already aroace. why don't we get a choice anymore? everything is always bi, or gay or lesbian. I am all for inclusion but straight still exists too,. There is nothing wrong with other preferences but it would be nice to have an option .
Aloy is not a RPG type blank slate character. You do not get to choose her sexuality. It is what it is. And of course, straight still exists, it never went anywhere. Straight people have the vast majority of representation.

Note that aloy character from zero dawn through all of the fobidden West was still doing her character development, so putting a protagonist who doesn't even trust 99% people in a relationship doesn't work. ( i know the character development can work with a love interest, just not this type of character development).let aloy first know how to trust more people and let her finish her character development rather than put her in love. They give you an option. Though like I saw somebody say, she'll most likely be with Seyka in the 3rd game. If you don't like lgbtq, just don't play it. You know, for the interaction between the two it was really hinted at Aloy's attraction to Seyka. Where as the interaction between everyone else didn't scream romance to me when I played. Well maybe for Varl but he got his girl knocked up. I was rooting for Talanah and Aloy Romance. Then again Petra such a flirt. Then Alva was adorable in a dork kink of way.

Kotello's a workaholic, Varl was too in the friendzone, Erend was too much of a comic relief, Petra flirts like a sailor who came back in land after a year long at sea.

Well I can't day I didn't see this coming but I kinda wished Aloy went with someone she knew more. Seems a bit like a last minute choice if you ask me. Although I would have appreciated I'd we got to choose who we romance. Although I'm pretty sure at this point Aloy pissed off all of her friends by acting like they're children who will get themselves killed until the story proved her right by killing Varl but not before having sex with a woman he barely knew too. I don't really get it. Could have just saved it for the next main game where some time passed between them. Although I have the feeling this will not matter even if you turn her down. This seems a way too important of a choice for it to be left with the player base.
that's the thing. aloy isn't a self-insert protagonist. she has a fixed look, fixed personality, fixed development, and fixed relationships. it wouldn't make sense to let the player choose who she romances, when the player has NEVER been able to make choices for her - the dialogue options that pop up occasionally almost never have any ramifications for the actual plot, and even when they do (like if Aloy chose to kill Nil in ZD), it will be retconned in the next game if the plot requires it (Nil being alive in FW). this is the game, this is how the devs have been making it, it follows every expectation set previously. i do think the dlc could've benefited from a longer playtime, but i think that's on the game design not giving them enough screentime to work with, not the writing of how they meet and bond. watching the playthrough, i thought they did a pretty good job using the time they had to bond aloy and seyka. it's also nice to see that aloy actually internalized the things she learned in the first game about bonding with people, it's annoying when a character keeps making the same mistakes. she had an entire basegame to get over her issues and she's officially a different aloy by the end, and that means she'll make different choices than she would have at the start of FW, for example. like, i'm gonna be honest, seyka isn't my first choice for whom to ship aloy with either (was actually hardcore rooting for avad and petra), but it's far from the worst thing that could've happened.
I felt like they did this right. We knew Aloy was probably gonna be lesbian or bi bc Elizabet was (as FW made very clear). I liked that they included the option for romance, but didn’t force you into it. Overall felt like Seyka was a good match for Aloy too personality-wise. It’s a bit quick for them to be in a relationship outright, but it’s not like they were getting married or anything so it didn’t feel too rushed to me; we spent an entire expansion getting to know Seyka. No matter the outcome it seems like the romance won’t be a big part of the story in the 3rd game, bc even if you chose the romance ending Aloy makes it pretty clear that the mission still comes first and that she’s not a person with the time to just sit around.

For two whole games and a whole dlc its pushed down our throats that aloy needs to do stuff on her own but then after not even a week in LA she sudenly wants that quen ass, yes in forbidden west she finaly learns that she cant do it all alone but that doesnt mean aloy after barely a week with a random quen wants to date her, it just feels like guarila wanted the lgbt points and to me their banter during their quests felt more like a anoying sibling or good friend bonding, there was no moment where i felt one bit of romance between them

there is nothing wrong with having two lesbian characters. HOWEVER there is something wrong with the way aloy and seyka’s relationship was done. it was obviously very rushed and doesn’t make a lot of sense. the entirety of the base game and zero dawn made it obvious that aloy had no interest in anyone, and was most likely aroace. then, in burning shores she spends a little bit of time with some random girl and then immediately develops feelings for her after knowing her for only a couple days or so. no buildup, no foreshadowing, nothing. just instant. this just came out of nowhere. either way, i don’t really care and don’t think it’s a huge deal. it’s just a fictional relationship in a video game lol.

It's insane, these comments are scary. I can't stand Aloy as a character personally but I actually for once enjoyed the fact she has some vulnerability as she was apprehensive and not so sure of herself around her love interest. For two games I've had to listen to her moan and groan about saving another person, village, or planet. She never makes mistakes, is always a paragon of virtue she's the best at everything, gets special treatment everywhere she goes, never has to make a lesser of two evils choice, nobody she tries to help dies (not literally everyone) she's perfect at everything, has no moral scruples, doesn't need help because she's Mrs capable but finally she wasn't a self righteous pompous self assured Mary Sue that showed some mortality. It turns out she's human after all she's falling for someone and this is a step in the right direction weather is a girl she kissed or not who cares. She wasn't insufferable for the whole of the DLC.

The second game has done a great job of humanising Aloy, which she needed. This is part of that.

She’s sensible, and capable, and definitely not gullible, but that doesn’t make her untrusting. Seyka proves herself to be trustworthy. Her whole character ark in the second game was to be more open to others companionship. She’s become less self reliant and stubborn against help, and that’s opened her up to be able to recognise and act on her feeling towards Seyka.

My main issues is that it felt rather forced as they only knew each other like 2 or 3 days. I also just sincerely hope this was their plan for her character all along and not some kind of retcon for woke points, which has become a problem in media the last 6 years or so now. I have zero problem with gay people, but I don't like when stories get watered down by characters only standout feature being their sexuality. Rainbow capitalism is obnoxious but some media does LGBT relationships right by not trying to exaggerate and over-highlight it for progressive brownie points.
Whatever the case, this doesn't ruin the narrative for me but there's a difference between genuinely well written LGBT characters and ones that are written that way to mark a checkbox. I'm hoping it's the former in this case. I guess we'll see where they take it in the next game.
I like this comment, honestly. Makes more sense then most of the butt hurt people out there. My thoughts: Even in zero dawn it was clear that homosexuality existed inside this universe. Aloy meets characters both male and female that flirt with her and there are canonically established side characters that are gay/in gay relationships. Aloy thus far always brushed love aside and (besides Avad) never had the option to 'fall' for someone throughout the first game. During Forbidden West Aloy was confronted with what love can look like first hand because of Varl and Zo (Relationships in general were a foreign concept because of the whole being outcast by your tribe thing and having to save Meridian, The West). And of course we learn that Elizabet was in a relationship with a woman. That obviously doesn't necessarily mean that Aloy has to be gay as well but it, again, further established that homosexuality was not a foreign concept for this universe. Now though, Aloy needs to save the entire planet and she cannot do that alone --> Hence why the second game basically forces her to make permanent alliances and accept help in the first place. She actually makes friends (In the first game Aloy clearly didn't fully grasp that these guys were her friends, which I think can be seen by the fact that she just bolted after defeating Hades without telling her 'friends' or anyone for that matter. So with forbidden West Aloy now fully sees people she likes as friends and is actually open to these relationships. She let's her guard down you could say. Now in the DLC Aloy is obv. stressed because of nemesis and then she meets a person that is ambitious, has an undeniable sense of purpose, is driven and is shunned by the Quen for reasons that make no sense (from Aloys perspective considering how she grew up). Sounds familiar? I think the reason why Aloy shows interest for the first time might be because a) Relationships in general aren't a foreign concept anymore or something she has to be defensive about b) The world is kind of ending so I'm guessing it's reasonable that you wouldn't go on 10 dates before becoming a thing and whilst I don't truly think love at first sight exists, attraction at first sight sure does (some people just feel chemistry like that) c) The person she falls for is someone she strongly identifies with and that stands on equal ground (Moral compass etc) that person just happens to be a woman
And bonus d) Throughout the entire West and Meridian every tribe knows about Aloy. Be it the 'Red head' or the 'savior of meridian' people have a certain picture in their head that Aloy kind of feels pressured to live up to. Seyka doesn't know about anything like that. She doesn't associate Aloy with what happened in the west or in meridian. Seyka, throughout the DLC, might have figured something like that out but not right from the beginning so in a sense I guess you could say that Aloy can 'relax' around her
In general, I don't rly mind seeing Aloy with a woman. Don't care if she ends up with no one at all, however, Aloy is a character that you play not create. So there is a story that exists and if the creators say Aloy and Seyka are endgame then that's what it is. I hope they further flush out Seyka's character in the third game and that there is actual growth in their relationship. I do see why people think it's rushed but I also saw enough evidence that supports that this might not be so rushed after all. Yk world ending shit and all that 'we're kinda f*cked' really puts things in perspective and probably makes you set your priorities new.

The only thing is that while Elisabet was always loner and there's hints of her being gay, none of that really developed into something concrete until Forbidden West and this DLC came out just a year after, so again, my only hope is they didn't start the alleged gay retcon they started making FW, is my only reservation. Again, I hate woke capitalism but do enjoy when character love stories are written well regardless of sexual orientation, and I just felt like this felt rushed. I would have felt the same way regardless of whether or not Seyka was a guy or not. Other games are likely mad because it's not uncommon to see this kind of thing in modern media all the time to boost ESG scores or appease the Twitterati. Those insanely woke people hold a lot of power over creating media reaction and buzz and people can't just hand wave that reality away as if it doesn't exist when we clearly know cancel culture does exist, at this point.
To go back to what you were saying, I do appreciate that Aloy is now much more open to help. It was something that bugged me about the first game and is part of the reason I feel perhaps Aloy being gay isn't a retcon because if they wanted to go down the woke feminist rabbit hole, Aloy would be a one-man army that doesn't need help from anyone, especially male characters, in order to reach her goals, and they clearly didn't take that path, which I greatly appreciate. It does also make sense Aloy would be gay if she's a direct clone of Elisabet, who was gay (again, hoping Elisabet being gay wasn't a retcon). I don't get the vibe they're trying to push an agenda due to this, and are likely just trying to be inclusive as there are definitely gay people in the world. I have a few close gay friends and I even have these kinds of conversations with some of them, so it's no like I'm anti-gay or have an inherent problem with homosexuality, I just want us to get to a point in society where people don't feel the need to water down narratives trying to hit an intersectional checkbox versus just writing good characters that just happen to also be straight/gay. You can understand people's frustration when there's so many people in the media with this kind of weird savior complex that, to me, ends up being kind of condescending and pandering in a way. I long for a society where it's no longer a big deal or anything crazy and we all treat each other exactly alike. I know it takes time but I'd rather talk about real stuff than keep talking about these things that the vast majority of society is okay with save for extreme people that should frankly be ignored because they will always be there no matter where society advances to.
Anyways, sorry for the long comment. Just shedding light on my nuanced perspective. Ultimately, I think it's more that the relationship felt rushed and not so much was about Aloy being gay, you can just understand people's apprehension when so much modern media panders to the detriment of quality narratives. That's all I'm saying.

I think that they shouldn’t have done this since it speeds up the pace of the game while not following anything else. She was a better character without any romance, as there was still time for growth in her character and thinking.

I have no problem with her being gay. I do have a problem with how forced and out of character this feels. Throughout her journey she has pushed away everyone close to her, especially those who made romantic passes with her. Her mission to her transcended any need and interest in romantic attachments. Yet she suddenly fall for a girl she has known for a few days? They didn't do this because it felt right for the character, they didn't earn this, they did this to get in bed with the lgbt community. Nothing more.

Due to having a choice, there’s nothing to say this is actually the canon ending. Now before you guys come and say that there’s nothing to say it’s not either, you’re right. Even so, this isn’t who Aloy has been for the 2 games we played so feels more like a fanfic to appease representation. That being said, Aloy has the weight on her shoulders and doesn’t have time to romance. Also, if it was intended, it wouldn’t happen in a DLC with a character she just met. Honestly, it would have been better had she ended up with someone like Erend or even Kotallo because she has grown with them. Heck, I’d even take Alva as weird as she came across. Beta is her literal identical twin and Zo is pregnant with Varl’s child. Talanah is trying to pursue a man and that covers everyone important to Aloy…… no I ain’t forgot Sylens but it’s Sylens so….
This one scene is pretty much the only thing I heard about the DLC. I haven't played it, but from only knowing that, here are my thoughts. I don't care if Aloy is gay. She's a genetic clone of Elizabet Sobeck so it really wouldn't come off as that much of a surprise. I also don't think she's asexual. I think she's definitely capable of loving someone romantically. However, she has so much put onto her shoulders. So much responsibility that she wouldn't really have time for something like that. Besides, the thing about Aloy is that she loves life and values it above all else. I personally just don't see Aloy having a romantic relationship with anyone. Unlike other comments on this video, gay relationships don't ruin games. Is it kinda odd that most relationships in this series have been implied as being gay? A little, but it doesn't really matter. Aloy is just like Elizabet Sobeck. She has more important things to focus on. She's not incapable of love, but doesn't have the time to commit to it as she has other way more important responsibilities.
@@Kira_Official_ I just played the DLC a few days ago for the first time. Honestly, after playing it, the choice I made makes perfect sense for Aloy. She shuts Seyka down because she’s overwhelmed by needing to save the world and only once the world is saved then she can be with a romantic partner. That’s just Aloy’s personality which we saw throughout the games. It felt really canon when I picked that choice especially with how Aloy responds.
For most of the DLC, Seyka felt annoying and more of a hindrance but even so, she became solidly developed that I could see why people want her with Aloy.
My biggest issue is you give us possible love interests throughout 2 main games which she turns down for the need to save the world from a threat then you give her a lover in the DLC when the biggest threat is now on its way? That makes it seem like we just weren’t Aloy in that DLC. Also even if she’s a clone of a queer person that wouldn’t automatically make her queer.
Since it’s ultimately up to choices, We (the player) should get the choice who Aloy ends up with in the end during game 3. I think that would give everyone the best of both worlds

In the 3rd game, we will see how they address this and if she had a false positive with Seyka and now we have the full choice to pursue one of the love interests from the main games or if they’re gonna double down on Seyka. Overall, it’ll be good to see what route they take. Even so, I hope they leave it open for people to make their choices on who they want to be with

Honestly I don’t agree with this but not for the same reason the homophobic crybabies have. Aloy just seems like someone who would not be in a relationship with anyone. It makes more sense to me if she was aroace (asexual). Not because she doesn’t need love or because she’s a strong woman who doesn’t need anyone, she already has all the love anyone can have with her companions and her sister, Aloy’s personality just clashes with intimacy and the way she acted towards others made me think she was already aroace. Also it just feels straight up weird to have her dating someone, especially when she’s constantly trying to save the world. Maybe once she’s actually done with that it would make more sense for her to decide to settle down with someone
Hell yeah, I did 100% on HZD, and I can say clearly: Aloy would'nt date no one, maybe Varl, but she would'nt have a partner by any means, if not combat, this to me is just rushed and stupid.

why don't we get a choice anymore? everything is always bi, or gay or lesbian. I am all for inclusion but straight still exists too,. There is nothing wrong with other preferences but it would be nice to have an option .
Aloy is not a RPG type blank slate character. You do not get to choose her sexuality. It is what it is. And of course, straight still exists, it never went anywhere. Straight people have the vast majority of representation.

This actually makes no scene, even story wise. Note that aloy character from zero dawn through all of the fobidden West was still doing her character development, so putting a protagonist who doesn't even trust 99% people in a relationship doesn't work. ( i know the character development can work with a love interest, just not this type of character development).let aloy first know how to trust more people and let her finish her character development rather than put her in love. They give you an option. Though like I saw somebody say, she'll most likely be with Seyka in the 3rd game. If you don't like lgbtq, just don't play it. I don't mind it, and I'm not an entitled homophobic like lots of the people commenting on here. They gave her plenty of time for her character to change and become more used to working with people. So it makes sense. Yeah, they've only known each other for a couple days but Aloy only knew Alva for a few hours when she allowed her at the base. They're branching out the series and the character development is actually really good imo. If you don't like it then don't play it.

You know, for the interaction between the two it was really hinted at Aloy's attraction to Seyka. Where as the interaction between everyone else didn't scream romance to me when I played. Well maybe for Varl but he got his girl knocked up.
I was rooting for Talanah and Aloy Romance. Then again Petra such a flirt. Then Alva was adorable in a dork kink of way.
Talanah would've been a way better fit for this, not gonna lie. Or maybe let players decide all though I dont think this is that type of game, it worked for the witcher tho xD

Yet Aloy never showed any interest in any of them. Unless I missed the cues and hints. I know that Avad wanted to be with Aloy. He pretty much asked her to stay as his queen basically. Kotello's a workaholic, Varl was too in the friendzone, Erend was too much of a comic relief, Petra flirts like a sailor who came back in land after a year long at sea.

Although I would have appreciated I'd we got to choose who we romance. Although I'm pretty sure at this point Aloy pissed off all of her friends by acting like they're children who will get themselves killed until the story proved her right by killing Varl but not before having sex with a woman he barely knew too.
I don't really get it. Could have just saved it for the next main game where some time passed between them. Although I have the feeling this will not matter even if you turn her down. This seems a way too important of a choice for it to be left with the player base.
that's the thing. aloy isn't a self-insert protagonist. she has a fixed look, fixed personality, fixed development, and fixed relationships. it wouldn't make sense to let the player choose who she romances, when the player has NEVER been able to make choices for her - the dialogue options that pop up occasionally almost never have any ramifications for the actual plot, and even when they do (like if Aloy chose to kill Nil in ZD), it will be retconned in the next game if the plot requires it (Nil being alive in FW). this is the game, this is how the devs have been making it, it follows every expectation set previously.
i do think the dlc could've benefited from a longer playtime, but i think that's on the game design not giving them enough screentime to work with, not the writing of how they meet and bond. watching the playthrough, i thought they did a pretty good job using the time they had to bond aloy and seyka.
it's also nice to see that aloy actually internalized the things she learned in the first game about bonding with people, it's annoying when a character keeps making the same mistakes. she had an entire basegame to get over her issues and she's officially a different aloy by the end, and that means she'll make different choices than she would have at the start of FW, for example.
like, i'm gonna be honest, seyka isn't my first choice for whom to ship aloy with either (was actually hardcore rooting for avad and petra), but it's far from the worst thing that could've happened.

I felt like they did this right. We knew Aloy was probably gonna be lesbian or bi bc Elizabet was (as FW made very clear). I liked that they included the option for romance, but didn’t force you into it. Overall felt like Seyka was a good match for Aloy too personality-wise. It’s a bit quick for them to be in a relationship outright, but it’s not like they were getting married or anything so it didn’t feel too rushed to me; we spent an entire expansion getting to know Seyka. No matter the outcome it seems like the romance won’t be a big part of the story in the 3rd game, bc even if you chose the romance ending Aloy makes it pretty clear that the mission still comes first and that she’s not a person with the time to just sit around.

there is nothing wrong with having two lesbian characters. HOWEVER there is something wrong with the way aloy and seyka’s relationship was done.
it was obviously very rushed and doesn’t make a lot of sense. the entirety of the base game and zero dawn made it obvious that aloy had no interest in anyone, and was most likely aroace. then, in burning shores she spends a little bit of time with some random girl and then immediately develops feelings for her after knowing her for only a couple days or so. no buildup, no foreshadowing, nothing. just instant.

It's insane, these comments are scary. I can't stand Aloy as a character personally but I actually for once enjoyed the fact she has some vulnerability as she was apprehensive and not so sure of herself around her love interest.
For two games I've had to listen to her moan and groan about saving another person, village, or planet. She never makes mistakes, is always a paragon of virtue she's the best at everything, gets special treatment everywhere she goes, never has to make a lesser of two evils choice, nobody she tries to help dies (not literally everyone) she's perfect at everything, has no moral scruples, doesn't need help because she's Mrs capable but finally she wasn't a self righteous pompous self assured Mary Sue that showed some mortality.
It turns out she's human after all she's falling for someone and this is a step in the right direction weather is a girl she kissed or not who cares. She wasn't insufferable for the whole of the DLC.
