The Devil and Maggie Chascarillo (solo acoustic)

Hendrix College alumnus Ben Nichols of Lucero performs an exclusive solo acoustic version of "The Devil & Maggie Chascarillo" from the band's latest album 1372 Overton Park. Nichols graduated from Hendrix in 1996 with a degree in history. He recently visited his alma mater in Conway, Ark. and is featured in the college's fall alumni magazine.
The video was recorded by Josh Daugherty and Corey Nesbit in July 2010.

@ForeverWinter686: I asked the guy who loaned ben the guitar for this video and this is what he told me...
"Based on the fact that it is my guitar (a Taylor DN4, no electronics), it is in standard guitar tuning. Unless he re-tuned and tuned it back, which I don’t think he did. I believe (and I’m a novice too) that he’s essentially playing a I-IV-V blues in the key of A. His fingerings are probably more like you’d see someone using on an electric geetar."

just curious, but does anybody know if the tuning on his guitar is standard? ive been trying to figure these chords out for three days and im not getting very far in any direction... (im pretty novice, just saying) Can anybody give me some pointers? BTW, i love this version of the song! this guy has so much soul when he plays :)

I just spent 20 minutes figuring the chord progressions out, And here's what I've come up with: Standard tuning, Key of A Major; AM6(A6)-DM-EM for the Verse. DM-AM6 For the bridge. DM-AM-EM-Gbm DM-AM-EM For the Chorus. DM-AM for "Long Way From Home" bit. AM-EM-Gbm-DM AM-EM for "Maggie's Song". I think that's it. Hope it helps :D
