Glen hansard is as wonderful a human as good an artist. Had the chance to meet and talk to him this summer in Ireland. What a man
like 10 years ago I switched on the TV just to see the credits of a random movie followed along by a nice song. that song was so nice I had to google it and it turned out the movie was "once". that's when i started listening to glen hansards music. I often think that I would never have known about him if I had turned the tv on just 1 minute later. I'm truly grateful for that.
This is perfect. This is the song I've been waiting for my whole life.
For me, these irish sing-a-longs are the stuff. Joy - or craic - is to be found.

Saw him at Kings Theater in Brooklyn, NY last night .... the man gets better with age and time has done nothing but perfect his craft and showmanship. If you close your eyes at a live show you can almost believe your at a Van Morrison show circa 1975 ... but without the Van grumpiness :-) .... Killer show, I hope to see this man perform live many more times.

Of all of my favorite videos here on TH-cam...And there are many (over 300)...I return to this very often, and each time I find joy and a piece of gorgeous filmmaking and what is also clearly a great expression of Irish pride...Just excellent in every way.

Myles O'Reilly's incredible sense of flow and visual story telling combined with Glen Hansard's outstanding songwriting and such a breathtaking performance by John Sheahan, Sarah Lynch, and, of course, Glen himself! And how the pub's atmosphere is captured brilliantly in vibrant images and sounds... I wish I could find more superlatives to describe this masterpiece of art! :)

Well, if you are over , say, forty years old, you'd probably be a Catholic who suffers perpetual guilt because the church gets into the marrow of your bones from the age of 0.... Ireland is a great country if you can put aside the misery that Catholicism instills.
