Even as a "cool" young adult and when I was a teenager, in fact my whole life, I have always respected loved cherished and bend over backwards so far back for my grandmother.
Doesn't matter that I'm the least loved grandchild, didn't matter that I was the only grandchild without a home and the only one whose parents divorced, I never let those difficulties and bullying affect the way I treated my grandma.
She would always nag at me the most, say bad stuff about me in front of me even though I was the nicest of her grandchildren, I think that's because my grandfather passed away when he was very young and when my mom divorced and left me in my grandma's care, I cried and my tears made her feel her own loneliness about my grandfather. I never had a father and very little of my mother for the first ten years of my life.
But even with all this, when my grandma always picked on me, made me always give her a back massage, I would always say yes grandma! And smile my brightest smile. This is because deep down inside, my grandma was the only one who was there for me when i was sick as a child. Didn't matter that I was dirt poor as a child, I had my grandma and even though we didn't communicate that great with the language barrier I would always rush, smile, bending over backwards for anything she wished. Because in those years of my sadness, she gave me my only respite and was my only family. I have never ever ever even looked angrily or even frown not even the slightest bit in all those years, sadly I feel I'm getting on in years and not able to do much more.
In looking at that retrospectively, even then I feel I have failed in my duties. I wonder how this guy would feel when he grows older? The grass isn't always greener on the other side, and memories you cherish might never ever return again-

thanks for the video, it is comforting watching my young daughter who grew up in Switzerland, eagerly look forward to return to Singapore every summer to spend time with gong gong(grandfather) , enjoy Hainanese chicken rice at the hawker centre, even though she still asks for Pizza Hut and Subway at times, which drives me, the hawker food craving mom, absolutely nuts

Cherish the time you still have with the elderly, rather than regret, there's no turning back. It makes me tears when in this situation.

I just saw CNY 2020 ads. Now I just watched National day 2019 ads. One similarity is the younger generation's kids always raised in overseas. Is it common for Singaporeans?

What the fuck... gue org indo juga, tapi org seperti lu buat gua pikir org indo sombong dan showoff. Kalo itu bendera mereka then ok. Lihat singapore, hanya 30 tahun menjadi dunia ke1 dari dunia ke3 lu aja yang goblok. To all non indonesians reading the indonesian comments, most people from the country side are very small minded.
