I agree, the fin is definitely a tad too big. Also, people forget how great the original Kenner version was! Even had the fin which could separate into two fins like on the movie 😎
I took the bite. I’m gonna try to change the bulb to blue if possible and maybe even consider turning it into a two seater…. I’ve seen it done with the 89 Batmobile. This one seems a little thinner though so might not be practiced.
I have this version, I like the Batmobile, it reminds me of the xenomorph look. This is probably the most expensive piece in my collection, with the light bulb still working. If it were a little bigger I could fit my 7-inch scale Batmans into it
Preordered!!! Dont care about the imperfections they are always gonna be there unless you buy the REAL THING. Batman fan as a kid and as a grown ass man! 🤣
I pre-ordered it. The green light is annoying but I will display it without lights. Always wanted this batmobile and never imagined they would ever release it. Love how the hub caps dont move like the movie. This is the only option as the other forever batmobiles are either too small or too expensive.
That's a good compare...can you use some drawing apps to find the ratio of height to length for both cars, McF one and the real one. I feel, McF one is squeezed horizontally which makes it bit tall and hence the fin looks big. On the other hand the lights should come as default at the 60+ price point. The 1:18 Elite version of Hot Wheels are a different generation and different size vehicles which focused more on details, accuracy and paint. For the light colors, it could be fixed by using different color leds. I think they went with that color because Todd has a reputation to make something wrong 🤣
Yeah there's something about the main body of the car, minus he canopy, that appears a but chunky. It's not a deal breaker but the fin is distracting though. The leds being replaceable depends on how easy it is to disassemble the vehicle. The 89 Batmobile had some easily replaceable parts but others where soldered/fused together.
@@androidweasel6931 I am guessing the led will be a bit tedious to replace but let's wait for actual vehicle. There are always screws at the bottom so it will be easy to open it up. What parts of 89 are you looking to update?
@@Mr767267 I gave the 89 Batmobile a clear matte coat with spray to protect it from scuffs and scratches. Before spraying I tried to disassemble as much as possible so I didn't have to worry about using masking tape on some areas. Anyways parts like the turbine front and the tail lights were glued/fused on to the main body of the car so I ended up having to use masking tape in the end
@@androidweasel6931 great.. hope you have a video of before and after. I think must know it already, that Ramen Toy made the correct canopy and guns for 89.
The great light is a huge reason why im picking this up. It reminds of the Batmobile from Batman Forever The Arcade game, that one in the attract screen is the Batmobile with the green lights.
I have pre-ordered this, been waiting for a good Kenner like Forever Batmobile since I was a kid, I never got to own one back then. This is awesome, I don't mind the green light, there is actually a scene right in the beginning of the movie where batman repels/glides down from what seems to be a bridge to meet Gordon and Chase, the Batmobile can be seen behind Batman as he is coming down and the light looks very green in that scene. The problem that your images pointed out though is that the shape of the car body is a bit off, the body isn't curved the way it should be and the wings are a bit disappointing, the side wings should be on the edge of the frame over the back wheels and all 3 wings are way too thin and lack alot of detail. 😢
From the thumbnail I thought you were comparing the two McFarlane cars. I am curious if they are the same size and dimension and if the glow in the dark version canopy opens and fits a character as well.
Ah I see - well it's a good bet that both versions will share the same mold, which means that the dimensions will be the same. The McFarlane Toys site confirms that the Glow in The Dark version also has an opening canopy and can fit a driver figure.
Yup, and the first 89 Batmobile … I mean, how stupid can McFarlane be… Making the canopy to get in it gray and the rest of the car black… His brain must’ve just not been working 🙄 and before anybody says it…..no that was not done on purpose so they could bring out the all black one and make more money
I agree, the fin is definitely a tad too big. Also, people forget how great the original Kenner version was! Even had the fin which could separate into two fins like on the movie 😎
Agree!

Yeah this is the only option... as of now. No one can predict the future. But yeah this is a cool Batmobile release despite the color issue
About the lights being green, I thought it would be like The Riddler had hacked the Batmobile
I was excited to preorder this vehicle but, i do not like the rear booster thrust design. Looks completely different from the movie design.

@@Mr767267 oh yeah, it's that canopy from Ramen Toys that made me grab the Batmobile in the first place. Thanks for the video idea!

That game is absolutely insane!
Really? In my memory its blue.
Yeah the PSX version of the batmobile is blue but the Sega Saturn version is green you are right.
Big fin is supposed to split into two fins, it does in the film.
Yup, though I'm OK not including the feature to keep the price down
a stealth vtol kinda like a submersible carboat makes much more sense bc it wouldnt get stuck in traffic or need a parking space
If you put in a blue light bulb will that change the car from green to more blueish color? Or will it not matter?
I'd like to know this as well. The wheels light up as well, so that may mean that there's more than one bulb to change.

So the lights are the same color as the original toy from the 90s
And it's actually not green it's teal.
Can you clarify? I see twobfor preprder. The one with glow and the one with Alfred figure. Does that mean the ine with Alfred figure don't light up?
The one with Alfred lights up via electronics. The one without Alfred glows in the dark (no electronics)
@androidweasel6931 Thanks! I just placed an order at gamestop :) Alfred next to batmobile would be sick!

I preorder mines
What about its width? Do you know it??
Afraid not. I imagine it will be similar to the 89 Batmobile
No spliting end tail, green light, no panther suit figure, one seater.. meh hard pass for me
Kenner toy is much better.believe it or not you can put different lights.
BV
I'd much rather have no lights and a cheaper price.
In that case the Glow in the Dark edition would be perfect
Blueeeeee.....not green! McFarlane didnt watch the movie!!!
Mc farlane is not accurate in several releases, making silly mistakes with proportions. In the case of the tumbler, we have a good example of it.
Yes, its a funny thing. But, without McFarlane, we probably wouldve never had any of these in the coming 10 years
You're right

I agree with you. I think the 1989 Batmobile did look a little bit off with the proportions. So I know where you’re coming from.
The second worst Batmobile behind the Batman and Robin one.
We all have our preferences
