Alhamdu Lillah. I have completed first part then revised it and after that completed second part. Feel comfort with the third part. Thanks for having an opportunity to learn Quranic Arabic in my retired life. May Allah SWT reward the brother with thy infinite mercy .

Alhamdu lillah completed first part and revised it, completed second par and revised it, completed third part . Completed first part and second part of Lisanul Quran by Amir Sohail, now in Sha Allah will revise this third part of Ustad Zaheeruddin Fayeez. But still long way to go for proper understanding of the Quranic Arabic . May Allah SWT help us to learn. I am now 66 years old, started the journey 3 years ago. Comment posted for the doa and encouraging the participants.

@Gut Alhamdu lillah possible, but may be sometimes 2 or 3 times revision of the same lesson required. But it seems knowing grammar is not enough to learn Quranic Arabic to the level of clearly understanding Quranic verses.Vocabulary buildup and continuous practice to construct sentences and translation from Arabic to mother tongue
      necessary.

    اَلسَلامُ عَلَيْكُم وَرَحْمَةُ اَللهِ وَبَرَكاتُهُ‎
i have a doubt in اسم زمان
    زمان which inditicates the time
    مکان which indicates the place
اسم زمان which is in the form of
    مَفعَلُ
ملعب is a place to play
why it is coming under اسم زمان

    As-Salamu Alaikum,
The confusion that happens to many learners of Arabic when trying to understand this topic occurs because some presenters (e.g. teachers) mix up grammar (نحو) and morphology (صرف) when they first introduce this topic and I have seen this in many videos on youtube unfortunately.
When you talk about masdar, active participle, passive participle etc, you are talking here about morphology not grammar. In other words, you are dealing with a word on its own, as opposed to discussing a word within a context of a sentence. You are talking about the pattern of a word and how this affects its meaning, rather than its relationship with other words in the sentence.
So when you explain the active participle, for example, you should NOT talk about its i3rab in a sentence (parsing). Rather, talk about the word in isolation from other words.
The word is اسم فاعل from a morphology point of view, but this does not mean that it is necessarily فاعل (subject of a verbal sentence) from a grammar point of view.
For example, the word كاتب , which is an active participle (in morphology), can act as a subject of a nominal sentence, predicate of a nominal sentence, subject of a verbal sentence or object of a verbal sentence (in grammar) as in the following three examples respectively:
    الكاتبُ مشهورٌ
    محمدٌ كاتبٌ
    ذهب الكاتبُ إلى معرض الكتاب
    رأيتُ كاتبًا باكستانيًا في المكتبة
Hence, the active particle does not have to be the subject in every sentence.
My advice to all teachers when explaining a morphology concept for the first time to a group of students or in a youtube video is to avoid talking about grammar so as to not confuse students especially when the terms used seem similar (e.g. اسم فاعل and فاعل).
