Coosa River lakes specifically Weiss and Neely Henry haven’t been good the past 2-3 years. I’m on Weiss every weekend. I blame it on a surge in gar and carp as well as the flooding the past 3 years just prior to the spawn.

Flooded creeks might been good, move fish up looking in creeks for more food, I do really good catching walleye and small mouth like that, creeks full of small bait fish and crawfish like a buffet.

This spring has been super weird and tough in the southeast. You can pull up on one spot on neely Henry and win a tournament but it's really hard to find.

Man , I sympathize with you with the headache. I love fishing and have done it all my life and love tournament fishing, but that stress level when you know you have to cut a check, that's why I found a place with full time a 401K and insurance.
Yes those sand bass are good to eat. They are running here in Oklahoma.caught about 35 - 40 the other night for small fish fry.
