I met Gary and the boys backstage after one of the shows. He and I talked one on one for a long time. Gary was one of the friendliest most generous people I've ever met. I miss him not being around. What a sad loss.
Gary (Paul) is no longer with us.. Very saddening.. Super nice guy & never forgotten.. Had the pleasure of meeting all of the guys in Fort Worth Tx at the Bass Hall a few years back.. I had told Gary (thru email) that I had a video Vhs of them from a Dallas show, at the Eastfield College, that was broadcast-ed on Cable Tv.. He ask if I'd make him a copy so I did, as at that time, they had no video of the band.. He in turned sent me a Live CD 2disc of 1964 The Tribute.. AND his Solo CD also.. Met them that same year.. (2004 I believe).. Then the next year (in 2005), I converted/transferred the concert to DVD for all 4 of the guys & gave that to them all.. Super Guys all around.. Fantastic group!! Gary, you're missed but not forgotten.. O:)
We've seen seven Beatles tribute groups over the years and have loved the all. But I like 64 the best partly because of their repertoire (I'm a fan of early Beatles' music) and partly because they make you feel like you're watching how the Beatles were when playing a dance, not a concert. Marvelous musicians.
1:13 Ouch!!!! That poor Grestch... =***( I hope it was OK. Great Video Once again Lancefrei!!!! Keep them coming I enjoy every minute of them. -Stephen james
Wow, I just saw a video by the same group in 1984¡¡¡¡ They became older but the music remains the same (beautiful). I wonder how and where they got the instruments (just like the ones used by the real Beatles, even John's Rickenban 325). Thanks for giving to the world some of the dream (As the real ones would stayed together or reunited). SORRY ABOUT MY ENGLISH, trying my best.
The Rickenbacker 325 was made by Mark Benson in the early 80's as at the time you'd have been lucky to have found a surviving one from the 60's and that was years before the manufacturer (or any manufacturer) started making reproductions. Mark is a skilled luthier but admitted that he made it in maple because he didn't know that the original was in alder. The other instruments here are commercially available. I'd say that's a 360/12v63.
Was Gary sick with the cancer when this video was made in 2008? He was my favorite member of 1964 The Tribute. Simply because he looked and sounded like my favorite Beatle Sir Paul. I met Gary & he was truly a very sweet & special man and a dear friend of mine. RIP Gary! Critty200
So sorry about Gary's passing (Paul) what year he has died? I'm sure it was on Dec 13th. But forgot the year. 2008? Is this band still playing? Thank you in advance.
When did Gary leave the band due to his brain cancer? I hope someone can answer this question for me. Fab and gear video love it. Thanks for sharing the video. 1964 The Tribute you rock love you guys. I miss Gary so RIP my special and dear friend. I will see you in Heaven one day. Christine Klinger
@RSMRecordingInc Saw you comment and knew what was coming. Looks like it was fine. That's the second time I've seen that Gretsch faceplant like that. Saw it happen once in 2003 or so. I love how nobody even noticed it but Terry! LOL and John comes out doing his job as he normally does armed with his duct tape and he walks up the drum riser like "What seems to be the problem?" Good catch Terry! That would've been an awkward moment on stage for Tom when making the guitar switch
+TRICK-OR TREAT Must've been John & George trying to blow em off stage LOL. These guys are OK but just don't quite cut it INMO......based on this performance anyway.
A poco no? Me llamó la atención el power de los amplos. Parece que son de bulbos ( antes de que ataquen, aclaro, dije...parecen) Deberian de formar una banda.

I saw these guys 3 years ago
The music of my youth.
Damn! This is so good! Makes me chill xD
@MrTrainboy1 Gary is playing Paul in this video.
THE GRETSCH.... NOOOOOO

Très bien joué ♥️ même le bassiste, gaucher comme McCartney 10/10
nice band, you don't hear me complaining!!
thanks - check out or version at a take on "Things we said today" (Beatles acoustic cover arrangement)
DAMN GOLD!
R.i.p Gary grimes
What did he die from?
Ila Hilda Sissac brain 🧠 cancer
1:17 I am worrying about the guitar collapsed into the floor on that stage...
Crazy thing is that in a help live music video(actual Beatles). Paul’s acoustic fell in the same part of the stage
Shows that they studied over 1000 hours of film. Or more.
week done ! to u and the beatles !
WOW ! LOOKS LIKE QUITE A BREEZE BLOWIN THROUGH THEATER THAT DAY !
Blew that guitar over.
+TRICK-OR TREAT Must've been John & George trying to blow em off stage LOL. These guys are OK but just don't quite cut it INMO......based on this performance anyway.
Gary is death? :'c
Things We Said Today
I Should Have Known Better 2:53
that must be mal evans picking up the guitar then!!!!
Muito bom.
They should have gotten The Fab Four to perform there because they're more detail oriented and sound way more like The Beatles.
Billy Ray has the best Paul voice ever.
things we said today is paul mccartney and george harrison and no john lennon
Paul is dead miss him miss him

Просто охуенная песня!
Big nono, cups on the amps.
"I'-'Thought' It-Was FOON In-The 60s so-to-Speak!!!??? Ha-Har
Rest in peace.
Probably an Elvis impersonator, because Beatles tribute groups are awesome!
omg that gretsch at 1:14 got wrecked :( not cool!
that poor gretsch... y wouldnt they have sandbags on the guitar stands!
It is not english ...
"Things we said today" was,for me,the weakest song from the album. "When I get home"was a good rocker!
Lol, if this were the real Beatles they would never have made it big.
Of course not. Not the same time. And not the same people. Still doesn't take away from them and their performance. They have the 1964 Beatles down.
Not pretty enough for you or you just don't like bands that sound like the Beatles?
I don't know what's worse A Beatles tribute band or an Elvis impersonator.
Don't know what you are talking about. These guys are awesome. I've seen them about 4 times now.
@TheColts99 no they don't. they're dressed like them, but look, or sound like them. they disgrace The Beatles, they sound terrible.
You're an idiot and obviously tone deaf. They are renowned around the world as the greatest Beatles tribute band.
how about your a disgrace :)
i agree with u 27scat
Thank goodness a musicologist is weighing in.
