I saw them in 1990 in Springfield Ohio when it was just them on a college auditorium stage. They were amazing! Met them in person at Carousel Music Lounge in Celina Ohio. Great people! Got a shirt autographed by entire band in Virgina Beach 4th of July music festival before Gary passed. Thanks guys.👍🏻
Wow, the comments from people who haven't done any research on these guys. They've been performing since 1984 and many of the rotating members have been in Beatlemania and other groups that people talk about being better. Yeah, they look old because they are but name any other Beatles tribute band that has been together this long and performed at as many sell out locations. I've followed them for 22 of their 30 years and they are some of the best and nicest entertainers I've ever had the honor of seeing!
They are the best trib band, period....Better yet, you couldn't meet a nicer bunch off stage than them. Gary Grimes, who played Paul was just the best....Sadly we lost him a few years back. RIP, my friend... A very talented group, they nail it performance after performance!
Saw them twice in 1986. So glad that I did. I knew they were good back then, but this footage shows the talent of these men. Think about how hard it is to play the instruments, be able to sing in key, have the mannerisms down, be charismatic on and offstage, and go on tour repeating the same show night after night.
That's about when I saw them too. Without my glasses on it was as close to what I'd imagine a Beatles show would have been. As they used all original instruments and amps, you could feel the vibrations of their wall of sound too. Just great!
years ago I emailed Gary Grimes (bass player) he answered me. we exchanged Several emails ...one day to my surprise he sent me a CD and a 1964 The Tribute 8 page magazine .. unreal that he took the time to do that for me. Gary was very cool. I've seen them at least 5 times. 2 times at centennial terrace in sylvania ohio ..once in kississme Florida ,once at sunrise theater in Ft Pierce in Florida and at the Florida state fair in Tampa ....my 27 year old son said "geeeez these guys have too much time on their hands, they're unbelievable"
Absolutely , without a shadow of a doubt , the best Beatles tribute band out there.... I've seen them ALL & 1964 are the closest one will ever get to being at the actual concert... Had the best pleasure of seeing them at CARNEGIE HALL in NYC around 05 or 06... Sid Bernstein was on stage telling the audience that what we all were about to witness was going to be truly memorable... He certainly wasn't trying to falsely hype the band..... He was so sincere with his words & we all soon realized that what he had to say was a HUGE understatement..... What a tremendous performance... 4 world class musicians who were each able to sing individually as well as harmonise incredibly well.... It was one of the best concerts I've ever attended , & I've been to at least 55 or 57 in my life , just about all of them being Rock & Roll.... Congrats to the band & hopefully once things get back to some semblance of normalcy , they will begin touring once again so that all the folks who haven't had the pleasure , will have that chance..............
To 1964 The Tribute: It’s Sad That Gary Grimes Was The Best Paul McCartney Impersonator Ever, Sadly Gary Died So Sudden, Rest In Peace Gary, 1964 The Tribute Are The Best Beatles Tribute Ever, They Pay Tribute To The Beatles.“Be Rest In Heaven My Old Friend” - Fighting Patriot
I think (unfortunately) that 1964 has had it these days. They don't sound as good and just look old! They never recovered from losing Gary Grimes. The Fab Four are the top dog nowadays. Even they are looking old! They have taken to using younger players as of late. I saw the "new kids" last month and they were good except the guy who played George.
I have seen 1964 many time in person infact I am good friends with Mark Benson AKA John Lennon & I was special friends with their former & late Sir Paul AKA Gary Grimes. 1964 are the best Beatles's Tribute Band around o I also know Greg George their former drummer. Fab & gear video thanks for sharing it. Cheers: Luvey1950
Love it. What a great job Gary Grimes did. Actually, all the guys did great. I would have loved to have been at this show with the horns and strings. Great job on the video. Excellence is in your blood.
I use to think the fab four was the only tribute band that the best and were the best, but after hearing this band I'm really impressed , they are doing she loves you. Spot on
Saw them three times. First time they were The Beatles Tribute, but had to change their name. All three times I saw them was before Gary died (RIP Gary). It was the closest thing possible to being at a Beatles concert.
First time I went to see them I knew I would be able to find their mistakes and imperfections in trying to be The Beatles. There were none. Saw them 9 times while Gary was still alive. Not since, because now when they are in the Nashville area they always play at larger venues downtown. Don't want any part of that.
THis is the first time I've seen this particular video of 1964TT. I've seen the Beatles many times live and worked with and experienced many tribute bands (Liverpool Legends, FabFour and many more - but to me the original 1964 The Tribute was THE best of the best for sound and musicianship. Their lead player was by far the most accurate and best musician to duplicate George's style and playing (esp the best And Your Bird...). But Gary really made that band tight - he may not of had the look totally but by far he was as close in style and accuracy to Paul than even Ardy of TFF who is consider one of the best). and Gary';s vocalsare spot on perfect. Their look (for older guys - sorry men) was excellent and they are as tight in vocals and muscianship as you can be. They simply amaze me and I've played for almost 60 years now performing many Beatles copy. Sad about Gary - what a loss and the band was never quite the same afterwards.
Oh, I just love these guys. I live in CO. Springs. I wish they'd come here! I saw them twice in the 90s. I don't know how the band could find any one to replace this Paul though. Sorry I can't remember his name. I just know he passed away.
Different tribute bands have their stronger songs of the boys that they do...This group has the vocals nailed on "She LovesYou." you guys were 'fab', 'gear.'
These guys are good. They are playing just like the Beatles. The drums aren’t miced up. I can’t see any mics on the amps. I can’t see foldback. Just like the 60s. Very true to the sound.
They were....this was quite a while ago when Gary Grimes was still alive...they aren't as good nowadays....the amps are just empty cabinets just for show as they used modelers that go right into the PA...this is what most of these bands do
I am so sorry to hear about Gary passing away, a true Beatle performer. I saw the band last year at Meadow Brook Theatre and was blown away. Their coming back this July and have tickets, can't wait!
1964 The Tribute and The Eternal Beatles (Live 2008 Keswick Theater) The Ed Suillivan Show Era and The Hamburg Era performing together With The Two Drummers! Ringo Starr and Pete Best
Going to see them at Red Rocks, Denver, Colorado in a few days. Just listened to The Beatles remastered (all 13 albums) on a road trip Minnesota to Colorado. We'll see how they compare. That closing chord they just sang in She Loves You sounds spot on.
Day Tripper was one of the first songs, and the first Beatles song, that brought a transition to rock from "dancing" music to "jamming". That transition from what we now call "oldies" to classic rock. Where the oldies and their "Mersey Beat" emphasized the off-beat (1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and) to the down beat (1-2-3-4). This is when you quit dancing with a girl and started nodding your head on your own!
Gonna good reason... Today tripper... Show long... She's a big teezer... She was today tripper... Show long... Their American accents are shining through.
my previous comment was alittle ambiguous What I was saying is they might be better live than the Beatles were live. They have played together much longer than the Beatles did.
Are these guys playing for sure? I saw "Rain" from the front row and I think the Lennon guy was faking it. The George guy was the only one I thought was playing.
These guys were actually the second best. the first tribute band ever known on the charts was the bootleg beatles, these guys have been around since the 80s, the fab four i think the 90s?? i know rain made appearances in the 70s but i hear they were terrible at first, i saw rain and i loved them, im going to see 1964 the tribute in march. im in the second row.
He doesn't look like me! :) They do a great job here. They have the movements and mannersisms correct but more importantly they sound great, with good harmonies. I will look for more from this band
These guys are freaking awesome !! The music the singing was amazing and spot on !!
Just saw them at the Lexington Theater. They were amazing. Happy that they only covered that era of the Beatles that I loved.
Saw them in Tulsa last night! What a great time!

A lot of stupid people out there😂

Gary was so good he learned to play left handed for this tribute. Another example of why cancer sucks so much.
Amen, they are the best. They never have been able to find a replacement for Gary that was any where heard as good as he was though.
Very true, Gary who plays Paul was very nice to me and my mother.he always remembered my name. Sadly he passed away in 2011.
Would love to see all of the tribute bands. Have seen Beatlemania afew times. They are also very nice to meet and talk to.
Gary sounded incredible on Helllter Skelter !!!!

Gary is by far the Paul! (sounds just like him!)
saw them about 5 years ago and was blown away . they absolutely nailed every aspect of the Beatles performances .

1964 is one of my top 5 Beatles Tribute Bands in the world. God bless Gary. RIP bro.
+jacomacca Top five!?!?! Damning with faint praise......
Paul
@@Snowcrest289 reo brothers is way more better. no disrespect
But they're not a tribute "act".
This is the best Beatles Tribute in the entire world. I saw them live once and I'd definitely do it again. Gary Grimes RIP.
Gary was an amazing Paul, both in singing and between song banter!
Very good performance! A lota thanks!

I saw these guys very early in their careers, probably 85 or 86 and they were great.
I'm 43 years old and i'm in a beatles tribute band, i can only think in retire before turning myself into a zombie! my god!!
my condolences hahaha your work is commendable, after all, it's about the beatles!!
Seen these guys twice when I was a kid in the early 90s . they blew my mind ! Sheer greatness !
These were the best ... miss you, Gary!

Seems like yesterday, beautifully done. ❤️
They nailed "She Loves You" - Great.

Muy buenos. She loves You impecable interpretación. 👏 🇨🇱
These guys are good! I especially like their harmonizing on songs like Day Tripper and Paperback Writer,

I miss Gary. What a nice guy
The Harmonies Voices are Impeccable !!!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I saw them twice and just incredible harmonies
Great job! I know how hard it is to pull off Beatles songs, let alone mimic them exactly.
I saw these guys last night, April 19, in Nashville, TN, and they were GREAT. I was more impressed with them in person, than on video.
Beautiful sound, balance, homage and tribute!

They would have sounded better if you were not tone deaf.
fantastic!

Awesome!
Excellent
Nice foot work Tom--I mean George.
Gary is the best. Better than ardy sarraf of the fab four. Rest in peace Gary.
By far the very best Beatles tribute band. The others are ok but nothing compares to these guys.
+singingscotty2001 By far? nah..The Return are pretty good too..

Do you suppose the old grey haired gent with the orchestra could scowl any more than he did throughout this performance?

Mango Flambé this is a stupid comment✔
Is that Tom playing George? He's cute,
my previous comment was alittle ambiguous What I was saying is they might be better live than the Beatles were live. They have played together much longer than the Beatles did.
The original's in E but they play it in Eb.
Do you think they are tuned down a half step?
Yes, i played along with the song on my bass and it sounded off because i was playing in the original key. I found out that tuned it half a step down.
*****
half step down tune, sir.
Are these guys playing for sure? I saw "Rain" from the front row and I think the Lennon guy was faking it. The George guy was the only one I thought was playing.
Yeah, these guys were playing it and singing it. That's what made this particular lineup so good.

Gary played Paul.
The guy playing George looks like a Davies

Is Paul Mitch Weisman?
David Wilder Gary Grimes played Paul in this concert.
DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THESE GYS ARE STILL TOGETHER ?
