I build hard counter and always lose, game IMBA!!! Astrea won't be winning tournaments like that any time soon, but is fun to watch anyway.

Agreed, it’s (mostly) not a loss because of the units chosen, it was the fact that DRG was able to build a massive economy that went completely unchecked. Not saying I would have won in Astrea’s place though!!!
The first game, I really thought Astrea had DRG bagged when the artillery appeared. "Lurkers don't shoot up!" - me
Tempest just suck and vipers love to instakill them.
And the problem is, protoss is the only race without proactive spellcasters.
High templer are reactive spellcasters who have a weaker version of emp(since it's no longer kills the enemy caster & is single target)
And oracle & sentry are energy based suppert units like queen & medivac.
I thought so too. Winter was like he's going Carriers, and I was like I think Tempests would be good... Shows what I know.
This actually makes sense. If you're gonna go mass lings you don't need to build a baneling nest because protoss will automatically go archon + templar with storms. Better use those gas to make lurkers. Well played DRG

Your casts are great Winter! As a casual player who watch a lot of your casts in phases and then not so much for a while, I appreciate commenting on the cookie cutter normal moves. If the meta had changed 5 times since I last watched I’d have no clue.
But you most often do that very well. I’m just commenting because you mentioned going off on a bit of a tangent in the first game.
I like the tangents too, of course. You can’t really go wrong here ^_^

I got confused for a second because I was thinking about pre expansion StarCraft. But yes they did sneak in the lurkers there towards the end.
People sure are nostalgic about certain aspects of wings of liberty. I rarely see people nostalgic about pre brood war StarCraft though.
Ladder was a scary place I rarely went to back in SCI but I hear it was the age of moota.

Good to see DRG learned from his recent match with her0 and found his Hydralisk keybind! That war of attrition Game-1 makes up for the lackluster her0 v DRG Game-3. I think DRG would be well-served by practicing with Dark before his Military-Leave. DRG feels like a less-refined Dark now, but I think he could shake the rust off and keep the "sledgehammer to the knee-caps"-style of Zerg going strong in Dark's absence. ... I just worry about the Dark-shaped void that will soon be leaving an empty chasm in my soul...
How can any human not be addicted to Zerglings. Especially the carbot zerglings.

As an expert Dia3 player:), I will spill a bit of my wisdom here : i think in a way Astrea was to fancy. If your opponent has so many zerglings, runbyes have little chance of doing anything. Imho if he had assembled a archon/chargelot + maybe1 /2 stroms and just pushed, I think he had a window before lurkers. Sitting back doing nothing against Zerg never seems to work, you end up going against ocean waves, and one of the waves will finally drown you. Even Stats does stuff, its never just sitting back like Astrea.

Who could remember the Protoss: the dark voice hated the Xel’Naga as they had disrupted natural order within the Milky Way (it had no affiliation with them besides that they “invaded” both the galaxy and universe it had inhabited) and what they did was made Zerg, Protoss, then went and slept. Amon and his followers happened to the Zerg and Protoss
Eventually, terrans just kinda showed up so
Given enough time, life could reenter the Milky Way whether by Doran Routhe 2.0, on purpose, or just natural like the terrans and dark voice
Alien Doran Routhe on a galactic scale, or just intergalactic aliens
There IS a reason they make an archive that could be easily deciphered by anything in that mission
If Amon gets his way and all life disappears, life will pull a Terran/Dark Voice and reappear, possibly with space manatee Xel’Naga 2.0

Really wish the cannon-rusher in the bonus game had had any kind of follow up. It was looking like a fun game but he didn't seem to have a plan after Dark cancelled his nat. 99% chance Dark wins in the end, but he could at least have made it more entertaining.
That last game was the worst executed cheese 🧀 ever.. it was more like a half assed contain than a cheese.. he never at any point put Dark's main base in danger and didn't even back build while cheesing. If anything he literally just put himself behind from the start. Dark beat him with one hand texting 🤣😂

PvZ is really just the best. The beautiful and noble strength of toss, making miracles happen with minimal numbers... then when it goes the way I like to see, just so satisfying to watch the swarm overrun their valiant last warriors. Dying fearlessly, with honor. Unlike the filthy stinking Terran cowards.
