Your breathold time is insane. I did the math and that’s 2 minutes and 40 seconds. Impressive especially with how deep you dove, the fact that you made sounds, the fact that you swam over to your fish before swimming up. Wow
Dimos, that first dentex looks like a 2.5 minute dive? Is that right? 2. What is your average breath hold? How long are you trying to hit maximum each dive? 3. How long are you down before you feel like you are pushing yourself too hard? 4. What do you do daily to maintain this? Looking forward to your answers. Awesome video!
Thanks Brent! The first dive is about +2min and the second dive that i actually catch the dentex is a 2,5min dive...It greatly varies from dive to dive...in some cases i did over 3min dives and got no fish and in most cases a dive up to 2min should be enough...Usually my dives go from 1:45-2:15...I do no training at all and my only training is he fishing itself once or twice a week if im lucky...But when i haven't dived for let's say 2 weeks....i can hardly do dives over 1:50-2:00....

Great video and finally one that really resembles the title! Really good apnea time and I love how you respect the sea, taking just that single and biggest fish you found. This is something rare among fisherman, hope other people can learn "how it's supposed to be".
I'm a speargun fisherman for over 40 years, Your video is by far one of the best I've seen on TH-cam! Not just video quality but as my diving instructor in Greece told me "Συνείδηση και σεβασμος" I started in Greece I lived Peiraias, then went Southern California, and some speargun-fishing at the Sea of Cortez for the real big game. I appreciate you didn't kill any small fish, good for you and good for the Mediterranean, divers all know it's almost a dead ocean! I know first-hand Mediterranean SPEARGUN-FISHING is very difficult! (1)you have to always be at 20-30 meters DEEP to catch anything worth catching. (2) the fish are just to fast and smart I guess :) and there's barely any left. In Southern California, the fish practically jump on the gun its good that there are laws about the size and weight of the fish you can kill! But as soon as you hit anything you take it out of the water real fast or you may have a bigger fish to worry about especially in the Sea Of Cortez! I do have a few criticisms: (A) never hold any fish by its gills always from the eyes! (B) never ever clean fish underwater even in Greece you may find that a "SMERNA" may be close. (C) NEVER DIVE ALONE! Keep fishing my friend "DIVE SAFE" enjoy it and "kill what you need not what you want" ... "GOD BLESS"

I never catch my fish from the eyes!The gills pierce through the gloves fabric giving the pefrect grip! It was a 3min job...i was out before any could come...but still she would be welcome for a snack... My solo dives are 1 in 1! Sometimes theres noone availiable but still a dive is needed...i stay safe in shallow waters and never give an effort over lets say 50%... The Sea is magical but there's always family waiting back home! Dive safe Tony and thanks for the com!

Λίγες βουτιές, ένα καλό ψάρι, η απόλαυση της θάλασσας και το ψάρι σερβιρισμένο στην πιατέλα φρεσκότατο για να το φάμε με την κοπέλα μας ή την παρέα μας. Μεγαλείο και πλούτος. Και μετά ξανά πάλι για μια παρόμοια φάση. Ουσία, ευχαρίστιση, επιτυχία, μέτρο και ισορροπία , χωρίς επιδειξιομανία με υπερψαριές!

@@unheardfinest613 Τaking a freediving course will surely help you if you havent done one already!But it takes time and many hours underwater for you body to adopt and learn how to use the least possible amount of oxygene.Learning to relax muscles you are not using also saves a lot of O2...
I find it kind of funny at 9:24 when you walk to the restaurant staff and say "Will you put in on the grill for me?" Their reaction is interesting. They look surprised and are speechless. They just smile at you. I guess this doesn't happen every day. Compared to a tourist, you're so out of this world, carrying your own fish you just caught.

Beautiful video and catch, I see that you use buoy when spearfishing, how much nylon do you have before the rope on your buoy line? Do you drop anchor on buoy before dive or do you keep it attached to yourself? Do you find that the line scares fish when you are on bottom, or is there no difference?
I never leave the line connected to me...always drop it down before diving.I have about 15m of nylon so it’s not that visible to the fish but I always remember fish getting scared by the line in shallow waters!

Πολύ ωραίο βίντεο ! Ψάρεμα και κατευθείαν φαγοπότι ! Πραγματικά αυτό είναι το ψαροντούφεκο. Με πήγες 10 χρόνια πίσω όταν κάναμε ελεύθερο κάμπινγκ - το γύρω της Κρήτης και τρώγαμε συνήθως ότι έβγαζα. (Σκάρους και σαργουδάκια.) Είχαμε όμως και γκαζάκι με τηγανάκι. Πλαστικά πηρούνια και πιάτα , τα οποία είχαν λιώσει όταν κάναμε το λάθος να βάλουμε τα ψάρια καυτά πάνω...γέλιο! 1 φορά τα χαμε πάει σε μαγαζί να τα φάμε αλλά δυσκολευτήκαμε να βρούμε κάποιον να τα ψήσει γιατί μου παν ότι θα χαν θέμα αν γινόταν έλεγχος. Καλές αναδύσεις με το δυνατό παρεάκι σου και καλές διακοπές !

Είναι ένα όπλο που βρήκα στη θάλασσα και το έκανα μετατροπή σε ρολερ.η βέργα που φοράει είναι 6,75 με 18αρι λαστιχο.Δυσκολο το μέρος γενικα...τα ψαρια δεν έρχονται!

I've been seeing a lot of them while diving and i tend to avoid them altogether because i know their spikes are venomous... However i was wondering if cleaned properly and filleted are they safe to eat ? Do they taste good ?

Για ερασιτεχνικό ψάρεμα εως 20μ βάθος θα προτείνατε τα Meister Fg pro ή κάποιο από τα Carbon της Meister? Ρωτάω έτοιμος να κάνω αναβάθμηση από πλαστικό πέδιλο σε κάτι παραπάνω και ακούγοντας οτι τα Carbon σπάνε πολύ εύκολα σκέφτομαι μήπως το fibreglass είναι η λύση.
Δεν σπάνε καθολου εύκολα φίλε μου κανεις μεγάλο λάθος! Θα σου έλεγα να σκεφτείς σοβαρά να πας σε καρμπον,ειδικά αν τα ψαρέματα σου έχουν κολύμπι...Νομιζω τα sport θα σε καλύψουν πλήρως αλλά καλό θα ήταν να πάρεις ένα τηλέφωνο ή να πας απ την εταιρεία...θα σε βοηθήσουν αιγουρα τα παιδιά εκει!
Υes you can practice them but always make sure not to go over your limits when in the sea.You will learn to tolerate the need for O2 and your mind will learn your bodies limits wih time.

Τhe muzzle is hand made and not aftermarker.It's based on the Meandros muzzle-roller head.The body of the weapon is the same aluminioum barrel with foam and added dressed with carbon

Cleaning underwater is so good. Small fishes will have a good share from your catch.
Yes they will but even when we clean the fish next to the sea,we always throw everything in anyways :)

Πολύ ωραίο βίντεο ! Ψάρεμα και κατευθείαν φαγοπότι ! Πραγματικά αυτό είναι το ψαροντούφεκο. Με πήγες 10 χρόνια πίσω όταν κάναμε ελεύθερο κάμπινγκ - το γύρω της Κρήτης και τρώγαμε συνήθως ότι έβγαζα. (Σκάρους και σαργουδάκια.) Είχαμε όμως και γκαζάκι με τηγανάκι. Πλαστικά πηρούνια και πιάτα , τα οποία είχαν λιώσει όταν κάναμε το λάθος να βάλουμε τα ψάρια καυτά πάνω...γέλιο! 1 φορά τα χαμε πάει σε μαγαζί να τα φάμε αλλά δυσκολευτήκαμε να βρούμε κάποιον να τα ψήσει γιατί μου παν ότι θα χαν θέμα αν γινόταν έλεγχος. Καλές αναδύσεις με το δυνατό παρεάκι σου και καλές διακοπές !

@@solidowal I only keep the snorkel in my mouth only in shallow dives not more than 5m...but even then most of the times i take it off.

I've been seeing a lot of them while diving and i tend to avoid them altogether because i know their spikes are venomous... However i was wondering if cleaned properly and filleted are they safe to eat ? Do they taste good ?
yes my friend they are very tasty!!!You should get a pole and start killing them as much as you can!They are really bad for the rest of the fish!

You should go for a warm suit for sure and i don't think too large spearguns are needed over there!

Φιλε δεν ασχολουμε με το ψαροντουφεκο κανω μονο τεχνικές spinning κλπ.Εχω να σου πω οτι εισαι αξιος και σου βγαζω το καπελο.Συνείδηση και σεβασμος στη θαλασσα μας!Σε χαρηκα πολυ σε ολο το βιντεο!Αξιος!Συνεχισε ετσι και μετάδωσέ το ολο αυτο αν τα καταφερεις..

Για ερασιτεχνικό ψάρεμα εως 20μ βάθος θα προτείνατε τα Meister Fg pro ή κάποιο από τα Carbon της Meister? Ρωτάω έτοιμος να κάνω αναβάθμηση από πλαστικό πέδιλο σε κάτι παραπάνω και ακούγοντας οτι τα Carbon σπάνε πολύ εύκολα σκέφτομαι μήπως το fibreglass είναι η λύση.
Δεν σπάνε καθολου εύκολα φίλε μου κανεις μεγάλο λάθος!
Θα σου έλεγα να σκεφτείς σοβαρά να πας σε καρμπον,ειδικά αν τα ψαρέματα σου έχουν κολύμπι...Νομιζω τα sport θα σε καλύψουν πλήρως αλλά καλό θα ήταν να πάρεις ένα τηλέφωνο ή να πας απ την εταιρεία...θα σε βοηθήσουν αιγουρα τα παιδιά εκει!
Έτσι πρέπει όντως τρομερό παράδειγμα φίλε. Μπράβο για όλα.

Υes you can practice them but always make sure not to go over your limits when in the sea.You will learn to tolerate the need for O2 and your mind will learn your bodies limits wih time.

Τhe muzzle is hand made and not aftermarker.It's based on the Meandros muzzle-roller head.The body of the weapon is the same aluminioum barrel with foam and added dressed with carbon
