    I have this printer and I love it, but the white is a problem. Thanks for this video.

      This video might help too. Keep white ink cost low by ensuring you have done your preproduction correctly. 95% of the time, I print with Level 5 white.th-cam.com/video/hb6f-Q3NkEg/w-d-xo.html

    where did you get that POW MIA graphic from? I see a few people selling this shirt with the same design. Wondering where I can purchase the file

      From a company called The Wildside. I believe they were purchased by Stahls.

    Hey man I use AS color t shirts … would using level 5 single spray on the pretreat machine work fine? What happens if you use too little or too much pre treat… also what is a good setting for my heat press? Should I use it on 0 pressure ?

      I would start with a lower concentrate pretreat mixture around single pass 4 or 5 and level 5 in GC. Too little pretreat, your colors could be muted, too much pretreat, you will likely see staining. Find the balance for the shirt and color you are using. I like 345 for about 80 seconds, 0 pressure to cure.

    What u think about turning off the 16 min on startup
    it does wast lots of white ink

      The longer you have the printer off the longer it will take to circulate. Circulation does not waste ink. The only ink used on start up is if you have Power On Cleaning on. This will do a default medium head cleaning on white inks only. If you want to manually do cleanings you can turn Power On Cleaning off. If you choose to turn it off, be diligent on your nozzle checks and head cleanings every time you turn it on. You should turn your printer off at the end of every print day but you do not need to turn your printer on for 7-10 days. I generally turn my printer on every 4 days or so when not in continual use. I leave Power On Cleaning on. If I used my printer daily, I would turn it off and choose light head cleanings.

      Some people do but that is limiting. White ink consumption can be reduced dramatically if the proper pre production steps are taken.

    The fallacy with this is you use three times the white than the other colors so your ink cost is severely tilted towards the higher cost ink

    • @MelcoEmbroidery

      That is true, a good quality shirt uses less white.

  • @78eagleboy

    John - would you still do level 5 for a white ink only with a large area? Set white ink level at 50%? or?

    • @MelcoEmbroidery
      @MelcoEmbroidery  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have found that if I am looking for true white ink only. Level 6 + 20% density appears to be max white. Problem is that will puddle if you use a good shirt and certain pretreat. I still like level 5 if I'm using cotton heritage and universal pretreat. So, I guess it's a bit of an experiment and personal preference.
