QB’s sliding is getting out of hand. The defense goes to momentum tackle, which cannot be stopped. If that’s the case. QB’s should always slide on every play.
First play is cheap on the QB, and these plays need to end. QB running for the 1st down on 3rd & long, game on the line. 0.4 seconds before impact: "No, I quit!", hit, free penalty, blame the defenders. New rule: QB must signal like a fair catch well in advance of charging defenders. Enough with these late slides. If you give defenders a blink of an eye to guess what you'll do, guess what? Their game is on the line, too. You lose.
Is it different In college for targeting? The one hit he kept talking about how the tackler used his shoulder so it shouldn’t be targeting. The shoulder hit was directed to the head&neck area (targeting) it almost seems like there saying targeting is ONLY when you lead with your helmet. Targeting as I understand it is leading a tackle with the crown of your helmet and/or “targeting” an opponents head/neck area
I was at the fsu vs uf game. That was a huge play in the game so of course the defenders are going to be moving full speed and protecting the first down. The qb slid at the last possible moment and yes the hit was hard but idk how the uf players are supposed to hold back in that situation.
I’m a gators fan, gotta agree with your take. Gonna be a penalty 100/100 times though based on how the rules are set up. Nothing can really be done to avoid this either bc these guys are the ultimate competitors so ofc they’re gonna push everything to the limit. The gators players don’t wanna give up the 1st and the QB obv wants the 1st, becomes a game of chicken and once both sides commit it’s too late, really don’t think it was malicious by the defenders, just the outcome of competitiveness and the desire to win
@@zacharyperez9656It's exactly why football is a joke now. Defense can't do anything anymore in fear getting a penalty. Might as well just make it flag football.

@ryryfizzleevery viewer knows where the first down marker is because it’s shown on tv. The bright yellow line isn’t out in the middle of the field each play. Those defenders had no clue where exactly they were on the field. This is 100% on the QB so slide earlier or pay the consequences. The defenders are taught to hit low due to concussion issues. If the QB slides last second into their low tackle it is on him. The defenders can’t just play soft because the QB might take them on to gain the first down.

You lose.
🤦 fake slide is a penalty
I like this idea
I think they need to take this targeting penalty away. The qb needs to be more responsible and slide earlier. If not, we should just go to flag football because the defense will always lose in these situations. He is not even full down yet before he gets blasted near the sticks.
@ryryfizzleThey don't know where exactly the first down marker is. They are just trying to make a play. You're asking these kids to stop on a dime after they are going full speed. That is absolutely ridiculous. I don't care what team it is. The rules are horrible and actually make it more unsafe. It was not a dirty hit. They hit him with their shoulder pads which is what they've been told to do.
"The play ends when the QB starts his slide".....
Kenny Pickett: "Hold my ketchup"
The Gators went into that game with Florida state with the hope of shattering FSU chances of making the playoffs...... well they didn't beat FSU but they did knock them out of the playoffs....
Should've beat them, but the fact that they were so bad actually hurt FSU strength of schedule so that did help keep them out.
@mizer9510 yeah florida is going backwards under Napier. 6 wins his first year and now 5 wins in his second. If he doesn't get things on track next season it maybe his last.
@@erickquinones1095Most likely will be. Have you seen their schedule? They'll be lucky to win 4 games.
@@mizer9510 yes I did.... its going to be a long season for them. hate that they are starting off against Miami because im a massive fan of both. there are a few 50/50 games [Tennessee, Mississippi state, old miss, but Kentucky the last 4 years has been a problem same with LSU. Texas, Georgia are a problem and FSU [who I despise] has the momentum in the rivalry. so yeah you're probably on it. outside of Samford and UCF.....rough road ahead. Billy need to reach out Jim McElwain to see if he has any boxes left over that he can use to start packing
The fact that the refs missed that UTEP player stomping on the Louisiana tech player’s neck was the most pathetic thing I’ve ever seen in my life. Not only a horrible penalty that should require the dude getting thrown off the team but they fact they didn’t see it was really freaking bad, oh my god
Cheap Shot University being on this list twice is no surprise
Buff fans are still salty lol.
@@BondisBourne78not even a buff fan but the ball is literally rolling outta bounds when he gets hit. Colorado st is a very dog shit football team tho so it checks out
😂salty? They won that game bud😂 I think you’re just salty they still LOST despite playing dirty 😂 and he’s putting your squad on blast for it. That’s tough. I’d be salty too 😂
Needs to be harsher penalties for targeting especially. Suspensions, maybe some kind of point system for bad behavior. In the NBA, if players step on court during an altercation there are consequences. Idk why its not like that in NCAA ball. If players get involved, there should be suspensions.
Funny on the auburn play the receiver gives a little shove before the late hit lmao
2 minutes of hits 10 minutes of replays great video
What can I say, the majority loves watching replays
faking a slide needs to be a 15 yd penalty and loss of down.
Y
Kenny Pickett did that should've got penalized smh
@@jacobconary9608 sliding gives the QB protection from being hit. Defenders will let up if they see a QB start sliding. Fake sliding is basically a QB taking advantage of that protection.
@jcchambers7896 Pretty sure they made a rule against it following the season.
@@jcchambers7896 Yeah he made the rule 😂
Another thing I'm learning about American football if a receiver is going to catch a pass you have to get out of, he's way to let him catch it then Takle him or it's a defenseless receiver Peneltay am I wrong? I love American football I'm just wanting to know I learn it right.
You can only play the ball. So if a receiver is going to catch a pass you can’t hold his arms down or push him before he touches the ball.
The first one... they were already moving into the hit when he started to slide. How the hell do they expect players to STOP or change their momentum?!
I agree we NEED to protect people, but damn.... that happened in literally about 1 second from leaning to hit and leaning to slide and contact.
Great two seconds in and I’m reminded why we didn’t make the playoffs
I've only got one problem with that first call. That's TWO EJECTIONS. 23 and 18 both go for that one.
Videos like this make me realize a lot of players aren’t smart enough or empathetic enough to play.
mostly the offensive players
I mean, he slid SOO late. Its like QBs get a free pass once they cross the line of scrimmage.
Guess you're talking about the first one. Did you see how low those guys had to get to hit him? Nothing "too late" about that. Pretty blatant.
@@MiltonRoe Def the first one. All the others were late. But the first was was very very dicey
He was committed to the slide before contact was made. Both players lowered their helmets. Absolutely dirty play .
Dude jumped into his slide. Defense just supposed to let him get that extra yardage? Game of inches@@travisbracken1260
It's just illegal to play defense these days.
Seeing Florida beat up TN after the game was nice to see Go Gators 👌
That florida QB needs to grow up. What a dive ...
The Florida vs Tennessee they squared up 😂😂
That Florida kneel down penalty on Tennessee was soft as hell. Quarterback deserved to get rocked after running around before he knelt down.
It's almost as I'd he was trying to run more time off the clock, I mean how dare he. 🤦
I mean he didnt even get rocked. IT looked incredibly innocent for how the OL responded
@@barryallen871
Ok, then deal with the consequences
@@barryallen871 If the game's over, just take the knee lmao. Dude was begging to get hit dancing around in the backline with a live ball. Fuck around, find out
I always love how they expect humans to really have air takes after we starts slide
air takes?
I wonder what will happen if the ncaa and the nfl get their collective heads out of that special place where the sun never shines? Three penalties get "offset" by one penalty? Take one from each team and offset, then enforce the other two....seems logical to me....
It is a good rule. Makes teams think on every play not to take a penalty, no matter what.
What was the gators qb doing
That QB vs tennesse needed / deserved to get leveled.
Yeah that’s a dumb game to play, is there a reason they didn’t just kneel?
Oh I didn’t look at the clock/downs, that play calling is shameful, just freaking punt…
3:15 What replay are the commentators watching?
0:06 keep in mind a lot of the discourse abt FSU being out of the playoffs was abt the acc championship that Rodemaker couldn't play in because of this hit & because FSU was down to their third guy. So, UF really did get one over on their rivals here.
That’s not the way you want to get one over somebody though. That’s the pussy way
Football isn’t dangerous, ego’s and lack of discipline is
Tennessee-Florida should have been a penalty on the defense for targeting and another on the offense for the QB's awkward embellishment.
What embellishment? He got right up.
Who cares how he got up? The embellishment was in how he went down like he'd been shot through the heart. He should jump right up; He was barely touched.@@mizer9510
We should be teaching qb’s to slide earlier. Not defensive players to magically avoid hitting the qb when they’re running full speed and “slide” at the last possible second
Given the number of blatant and illegal hits by all teams, I can't help but wonder if coaches at all levels tell the players: I don't care if you get ejected, but if you think you can take them out of the game, or better yet, season take it!
Duh. If you ain’t cheating you ain’t trying. There is to much money involved for everything to be on the up and up.
UF may be the most undisciplined team in football
The uf fsu one was clean. 2 different players didn’t stop yet two referees from 20 yards away say it is.
Part of our game
If you want to risk the big paycheck You best put that body on the line.
CSU vs CU...late, not dirty. There's a huge difference.
Whaddya mean late? The ball was nowhere near the receiver. You can't just hit guys for funsies. And the play was over -- the receiver's guard was down.
“Once they start the slide, the play is over” but they’re allowed to start to slide, fake it, and then take off for more yardage when the defenders give up. I’d hit ‘em too, just to be sure they play is over.
They made that illegal, pretty much as soon as the QB starts to look like he's gonna slide the play is instantly over
That FSU QB literally slid into the ongoing Florida tackle lol
1 million views 🎉😊
@@victorcharles27 👌
The 1st one isn't dirty, they already committed to the tackle before he started to slide. FSU can cry about it but it was definitely not intended to be dirty
What was dirty is that he led with the helmet. The helmet to helmet contact with the lead of the crown is what makes this more of a dirty play.
@@griffin8er845are u dumb😭😭😭
No, they committed to the tackle when he literally hit the ground… they even adjusted the way their level so they would hit him while he was on the ground
