Straben is the best, perfect blend of robotic and human, lethal, precise, and most important, loyal. Used him as my main from the beginning, for the tides of death that break upon his shield and shot, will continue to be so for that and his personality. A run well done.

Almost everything in the game is meh at best compared to the heavy plasma incinerator. That weapon along with the grenade launcher and multi melta are all in a tier of their own. They all simply make the game easy. I’d be insane to argue that the heavy bolter is better than the heavy plasma, but it’s still very good. It cuts through swarms very well and kills majoris enemies very quickly. Sure melee warriors can block your shots but if your teammates are distracting them than that’s not an issue. Even if you’re alone with a group of them you can still use it effectively when they drop their guard to attack. Because you can parry out of heavy stance, you can sneak in quick bursts of headshots while fighting in melee, allowing you to dispose of warriors very quickly up close. And the cherry on top is that neurothropes and zoanthropes are hard countered by the heavy bolter. Those enemies can be pretty tough to hit with the heavy plasma, but the bolter just shreds them to pieces with little issue.
@@petercook438 hopefully we get the long awaited bolter buff with this week balance patch. It isn’t just the heavy bolter that is suffering but all bolter in general are underpowered. Having no stagger and needing to put between 30 to 40 rounds in the head of a majoris to execute them is ridiculous and the ammo economy isn’t great either but that’s directly linked to their lack of damage
I agree that bolter weapons in general need some love apart from a couple of exceptions. But I haven’t had much issue with ammo on the heavy bolter even on lethal. If the heavy bolter were to be buffed, I hope it would be very minor. I just don’t want it and the other bolter weapons to be made as game breaking as the meltas and all the other busted weapons. For me personally, I don’t enjoy having a game be trivialized so much do to poor balancing rather than my own skill. Heavy bolt rifle and the auto bolt rifle do desperately need some buffs though. Those things suck.
If I'm solo, I think I want a heavy bolter more than melta to be honest. Melta makes double sword warrior/lichtor encounters far easier, but also puts you in long distance doom scenarios the heavy bolter can clean up while keeping you alive. Heavy plasma still king though
Just tried with Raven Guard bro and we got to end and almost got em 25% health left on Titan and we survived multiple 3 raveners at once, Lethal is so tough especially when you have a raged Majoris and does double call reinforcements and when your teammates are stuck fighting and it’s far from us and in a corner around another corner can’t interrupt em in time and they have a lot of damage but wicked fun though can’t wait to get my first lethal done
My buddies and I cleared mission 6 on our second try, it’s probably the easiest one. Took the all melta party, which excels on that map due to the short sight lines for most of the arenas.

I find that usually my shield doesn't actually wind up breaking in the first place and it's better for stopping smaller chip damage. I still swap them out every now and then since I don't think either option is strictly better in my experience.
an EXTREMELY lucky run judging by amount of mistakes. to be more specific - the amount of horde spawns he get's is near absolute minimum, never in all my many runs of solo lethal i seen so few enemies. even after difficulty nerfs heavy with bolter remain one of the weakest for solo play.
Is it me, is the cranifex ai acting dumb lately? Because I came across one that got stuck on a pole and refuse to move. And the cranifex at the beginning of the video just stood there till its was at a quarter of its health. Have anybody noticed this or is it just my imagination?
It's really dumb when it spawns in on a map with ANY elevation. I got a Carnifex that spawned in the Generator area of this map with the infested power cores. It spawned on the bottom of the power core on the right with the stiars, it could not climb it and kept shooting it's thorns instead.
..... what's a little shocking to me is, I've seen similar enemy comp and numbers on average. I'm really beginning to wonder if there's something wrong with my game or....something? I mean, just earlier... running Ballistic Engine on average, 1 carnifex, 3 zonathrope pairs, 1 neurothrope.... and at least 2 lictors. Did the devs really botch things that badly with the last update? 😮
. I like a challenge too.... and having harder modes for that. But I also appreciate easier modes for times when I want to kick back. I think Saber has done pretty good overall... but I do think they borked the difficultly scaling with 4.0. And I'll be honest.... am I good enough for "lethal"? I dunno. I only play like one operation a day and am not leveled up. But damn do I love this game, and look forward to lethal someday

I pair heavy plasma with the bolt pistol for ammo management. Use heavy plasma for high-priority majoris threats and very large blobs of minoris, bolt pistol for smaller isolated minors or low-threat majoris (e.g. the entire squad is taking on only 2 lone warriors). Don't have ammo issues this way and never have to melee Edit: you do need to make use of your parries though, so in that case you are meleeing. But as far as raw meleeing goes, shouldn't have to be doing that

His "strike/parry into stomp" is game-changing and essential in keeping the Heavy both frenetic and very dynamic. With "charged-plasma" and "halo" strategically mixed-in... this permits for a "connect-the-dots" type-of-playstyle between elites that no-other class has. The Heavy can become absolutely unstoppable.

Carnifex has been getting Hive mind wifi errors since launch, it doesn't really know what to do vs ranged classes at distance

FINALLY! The Heavy is actually shooting. You don’t know how sad it is that you have to melee when you’re using the Plasma since you had to save ammo.
