Excellent documentation of Wilma's landfall. You guys are exceptionally well prepared, and by deploying remote camera packs into high-risk areas, you definitely have given us an opportunity to view some rare footage. Keep up the great work!
Born in Homestead, raised in Hollywood, had a home in Dania at the time Wilma hit. Worst storm I had ever experienced. Wilma ripped off my two front shutters, 1 became trapped between the house and my truck beating it through the whole storm, the other 1 busted out my bedroom window, my yard was shredded and there was no power for 3 weeks
I remember Wilma. I live in West Boca Raton, I was in the 1st grade, it was the third (actually fourth, counting Katrina which was just barely a hurricane at landfall here in SE FL) I've experienced after moving here from Brooklyn the year before. The winds were INSANE--I remember seeing my parents starting to actually worry which is quite rare. I remember playing out in the local block with a neighbor during the eye. The library parking lot was flooded waist-high with a lot of roof damage. Wow.
Wilma was a wild ride here in Naples, we lost part of our roof and were without power for a couple weeks, we had been through a few near misses and a few good tropical storms before. I still live here, it's part of the price you pay for living in paradise.
Absolutely incredible video and well documented. I was on Marco Island during the 1960 Hurricane Donna. Only 10 years old at the time, I did not understand why all of the adults were so concerned. I thought it was pretty cool having fish swimming in my aunt's house and only wished my mother would let me off the bunk beds to play with them!
every time i watch these vidios makes me think that hurricane irene (2011) could have been much worse and makes me think that a strong hurricane like katrina or rita. could you make more of these vidios on this and any of the hurricane seasons that are to come? you have been helpful to see that any one can get hit with a hurricane and that we should be ready to survive this when it comes.
TWC is a reliable place to get info off of. watch hurricane hunters on TWC and you will see what people at hurricane hunters air base , pilots, radar men and technitions must go through

Wilma strengthened as it crossed the Everglades

I rode out Wilma in Hollywood Fla. I remember after the worst of the storm passed water starting coming in my living room. Damage assessment began

@pietrovaldes You are quite welcome. That's what these videos are for- to show people what hurricanes do and how they affect the areas that they do.
