I'm not Catholic, but I love this so much. I think this is how people should be in church. Look how happy they are! That's how you truly celebrate god, by preaching to the entire world how much you love him!
True, but unfortunately, Catholics are kind of against this type of music in church, and they don't do this. Catholic church sessions are actually kind of archaic and boring.

When I was a kid this scene gave me legit goosebumps... especially Sister Mary Robert's parts! It still gives me goosebumps to this day...this was a perfect ending to a really feel good movie! :)
There's something very powerful about this movie. And I'm not a religious person, so I don't think it's about that. It's about community and trespassing barriers and about how modernity and tradition can indeed meet and create beautiful things. I think that's why it still resonates with so many people.

When I heard this song for the first time, I left the room, sobbing my heart out. Because I realized that nothing could keep God from loving me. Not my addictions, not my sexuality, nothing. He would love me, when no one else would. And there was nothing i could do to stop that.

Sister Act and Sister Act II are SO ridiculously good! I remember watching both films with my siblings and friends, and we would sing to every song. Such simple, happy memories thanks to these films. They have a special place in my heart.
I'm a really, really lapsed Catholic (for a number of reasons), but I can still watch these movies over and over, haha. (It helps that they're not religious as such - religion is just in them.)
tsukiyuuki I feel ya. I was raised Christian, but became Agnostic at about age 20 for plenty of reasons of my own, but I still really dig these films! One thing about gospel music is even if you don't believe, the music is still undeniably good.

I decided to watch Sister Act with my niece (7 months) cause she already loves music and now this is our go-to quiet song. I put her in "baby sleeper hold" (it's completely safe lol) and start to sing. She immediately quiets and just listens. I think it is so cute! No matter how fussy she is she immediately quiets when I start to sing "I will follow himmmmm...."

I love this movie. When I watched this as a kid, I felt proud because I went to Catholic elementary-middle school, my nuns were the best. They didn't sing or fly, but they liked applesauce and I remember them fondly even though it was twenty years ago.
Me and my church choir once sang this song for a chapel, the crowds went nuts and several are sang together with us. This movie and its soundtrack does bring joy not for Christians and Catholics, but for others whom looking for joy and laugh
