The Bay Area World Series saved probably hundreds of lives... everyone at home getting ready to watch it and 60,000 plus inside the stadium cleared up the roads...

This is my earliest memory. I was 3, eating dinner in the living room watching Sesame Street while my mum cooked for my then infant brother. My mum just moved from England 4 years prior. My dad worked in the city in the evenings as a server at a 5 star restaurant in Nob Hill. He was ALWAYS on time, but he was running late for some reason that evening. If he was on time, he likely would have met his fate on the bridge, but it was not his time to go, clearly. There were no cell phones. I simply remember my mum grabbing me with my brother on her hip and took us outside. Out neighbours were all there for support (we were in Hercules, CA in the east bay). They helped us shut off the electricity and energy. They let us stay with them while we watched what news we could, praying that Dad was okay. He was stuck on the bridge for nearly 8 hours and missed work, but nobody was dining that night anyway. I remember when he came home that night. Everything was okay. Angels we’re assisting.

I was 24 at the time, living in Nevada City, California (about 3 hours east on Hwy. 80) watching the Bay Area World Series with my dad on KCRA (Sacramento NBC) when the Loma Prieta quake happened. Although I didn't feel it, my sister in Grass Valley (the town next to us) did. Nearly 40 years and I remember it like yesterday!

Like her or not, the real hero of that story is Dianne Feinstein, who authorized a huge earthquake retrofit to Candlestick Park not too long before that quake. 50,000 people were just having a nervous laugh, instead of triaging survivors. Don't get me started on that freeway, I used to drive it and saw the crappy rusted rebar sticking out of the cracked concrete and wondered when It would happen.

@@southphillyexplorer It's very rare for politicians to have any ideas on their own(and I don't even say that in a mean way).
The ideas come from experts, people closer to the problems or through polling, etc. The ideas are then given to the politician and they push for it.
A politician's job is to represent their people's wants/needs, not to make up stuff on their own.

The earthquake was staged by Tesla technology. Nikola Tesla died 184 before his birthday in the "New Yorker Hotel." Count the alphabet backwards and "New Yorker Hotel" equals 184. The 1906 San Francisco Earthquake blatantly attributed to Tesla technology in a few fictional novels happened on a date 18/4 or April 4. The Tunguska Event, which is suspected to have been caused by Tesla technology, happened on a day leaving 184 days in the year. There's a span of 184 days between the Loma Prieta quake and the 84th anniversary in 1990 of the 1906 quake. Jose Canseco, who is seen running in the field here when the quake cuts transmission, was born on the 184th day of a leap year, 1964. The 1906 quake took place on the 108th day of the year. Canseco was in his 108th day of his age when the Loma Prieta quake happened. Or you could say 107 days after his birthday. "Earthquake" equals 107 in alphabetic order when the letters are added as numbers and "baseball" equals 54, like the 5:04 earthquake time. These are not coincidences. This is what the people who rule this world do.

Amazing how one sporting event - World Series in this case - may have saved a lot of lives with people either being at the stadium already or had already left work early as the video said to watch the game. It would’ve been more disastrous and devastating if people had been where they normally were (work, traffic, etc).
