- In this report, Kansei TV takes you to discover the Isthme architecture agency.
Made up of seven partners, four architects and three geographers, this agency takes its name from a reference to Fernand Braudel, evoking the territory of the southwest as an isthmus between the Atlantic and the Mediterranean.
Initially founded in Paraguay about ten years ago, the agency has been established in France for six years, developing an approach combining territorial expertise and architectural design.
In this report, we discover a beautiful project to rehabilitate several buildings of an old farm in Quercy into a residential house and rural lodgings.
First step, the exterior developments!
The project consists of redesigning the entablature of the main farm buildings in order to offer balcony views of the exceptional landscape. The reuse of stones from an in situ ruin makes it possible to build new walls anchored in the place.
We then explore the agency's offices in Toulouse, located on rue L'esquile, where the collaborative approach between architects and geographers is highlighted. The teams combine their skills to analyze and design integrated projects, at the crossroads of urban planning and architecture.
Their work on the rehabilitation of the Regional Council of the Order of Architects demonstrates their ability to meet the technical and functional requirements of a space intended to welcome the public while preserving its heritage identity.
Finally, we visit the interior design of a real estate agency located in the heart of Toulouse, in the Carmes district: Espaces Atypiques.
This project highlights the search for transparency and fluidity of spaces, illustrating Isthme's ability to reconcile aesthetics and functionality, even in commercial environments.
Through this report, Kansei TV highlights the rigorous and sensitive approach of Isthme, which combines craftsmanship and territorial thinking to give birth to projects that are both rooted and innovative.
