Ive had the distinct honor of spending a week there back in the early 90s. Just phenomenal beauty throughout. I knew there was rehabing ongoing since 2013s...covid must have interferred if not open yet. Getting money now must be a nightmare. New Hampshire needs to make sure this stays open even if just as museum...historical. Truly magnificent setting. Thanks Ken for the views. Inspiring!
Another great video, Ken! I stayed here three times in the early seventies on skiing trips with my family. I remember going into the underground tunnels, the grand furniture and the spectacular dining and service. Motorcycle rides during foliage season in later years to the hotel and in the surrounding area was magical. Staying here started my lifelong love of the grand hotels! What a delight to hear it is being renovated!
beautiful country;;;lookin forward to the next one;;;cheapest way to see the beauty of the eastern country;;;;lol;;;cost to much to travel from Texas to see;;;;keep em comin;
Absolutely stunning Ken. If we lived in the USA, Vermont or New Hampshire would be my home. Wow, it is just beautiful, stunning, awesome 👍👍👍👍👍👍 Greetings from Queensland Australia 🤗🤗🤗
And another beautiful grand hotel. Ken I want to thank you for allowing me to see parts of America that I'd never get to see or visit. Awesome stuff my friend!!
People fly all over the world to visit beautiful places, but it would probably take them a hundred years just to see the beauty in their own country! 🙏🥰
Beautiful scenery Ken, the view of the rocks was breathtaking along with the mountains it’s gorgeous, I especially loved the way you flew your drone across the lake towards the hotel that was awesome!
Hi Ken. Amazing and absolutely stunning video of Dicksville Notch. Definitely going on my "to do" list. That area looks beautiful. Thank you for the areal shots.
Awesome video Ken. Foliage season is upon us and with your talent of drone footage it will all be spectacular. Thanks for another great video. When snowmobiling thru the balsams it smells just like Christmas. If that’s what Christmas is suppose to smell like.
Nice shots, cool to see the notch from that angle. I go through there several times a year. As was noted, been closed since 2011 with very little sign of it ever opening again. A little creative thinking by investors could make this into quite the getaway for the piles of side by side and snowmobile money pouring into the state and that area in particular.
Oh wow, that broght back some great memories! I hiked up to that high point in 1987. Had a fabulous dinner in that hotel ballroom and enjoyed some big bad music. Sad that it is closed but so glad you chose that spot to film! I know the views are of 3 states plus Canada. I always like it when you identify how far we are seeing as you have in other videos. Keep it up!
Thanks for sharing your time and enjoying your videos from East Texas Ken. I had the pleasure of traveling through upstate New York last month picking up some farm equipment. Very pretty scenery up your way and great drone shots . I know fall is knocking on the door and you’ll do do some drone work for the leaves changing colors right around the corner!!
What a shame I haven't been up there in years used to be so beautiful and pristine grounds and parking lots look horrible. I hope the can return it's beauty.
I recall the name “Tillotson” that may have association with the property. There was a manufacturing building on site that produced latex gloves many years ago. The concrete slab could have been the plant. On a personal note, I am overcome with the sadness of the demise of this Grand Resort. Humans try very hard to improve these magnificent locations for the enjoyment of others. However, the powerful forces of nature and the fleckness of the economy will never diminish the majesty of God’s creations.
Having been closed for over eleven years does not bode well for the hotel,a building needs constant maintenance for it to survive, especially in the harsh climate of the states, what do you think,as a builder?
The "renovation" sign has been there for well over a decade. The investor(s) ran into money problems long before the the pandemic. It's really too bad for such a iconic location and hotel. It also had or has a ski mountain tied to it. It needs so much work that I think investors are avoiding it because they will not make their money back.
I’m on a mailing list the developers have. Apparently they received or got approved for significant funding this past spring. It was odd though-some non-profit funding group with unique terms. It’s exciting as I’d love to see it reopened and returned to its former glory however, my interpretation is they’re selling rooms as “timeshares”. I’ve seen nothing that states there will be the traditional room rentals you’d expect. I imagine they’ll offer them but for now the focus is on selling these timeshares to keep cash flowing. There’s a lot of info on their website that explains what they’re trying to do.
Beautiful....greetings from the Netherlands.
Thanks you have beautiful scenery over there as well
Great fishing in that area too.
And their are people that say this just happened the beauty is outstanding and God looked and saw that it was good
Its like I could hear the Thunder rolling through the hills. Seeing the snow blanket the cragy rocks. Such beauty.
Yes
The wonders of our Mother Earth!! We really need to protect her bounty & beauty. Hope it’s not too late.

Yes that would be nice
Ken what was behind the Hotel where the big foundation was at?
Hmmm I don’t know

I agree. I noticed some of the structures were showing deterioration. Sad
Been closed for renovations for years. Probably will never reopen at this point or sure feels like it.
Was your dad a jack of all trades? From dam builder to carpet layer. It's to bad that this one will end up an abandoned property
He was in his 20s at that point so I think he was trying to figure out what he was going to do for a living
beautiful also no donut break whats up
Haha

Just seeing the tennis courts and pool not being maintained shows the state of disrepair. Sad to see....
Yes it does
