Swamiji's illumines us that a Guru is not to be searched based on externals but is determined by God Himself based on the level of our internal elevation! God automatically leads us to a true Guru when we have a sincere thirst for God and have prepared our vessel. We then develop deep faith, devotion and surrender towards him. A true Guru is simply the Grace of God and cannot be searched by us!!!

Swamiji answers an important question most people come across on their spiritual journey. On this journey of self-realization and God-realization, we need guidance from a true God-realized saint, namely a Guru. How can we find a true Guru? As Swamiji explains, we do not need to go in search of a Guru. When we develop inner faith (given by God), sincere thirst for God, humbleness to surrender to a Guru and selfless devotion, God will bestow his grace and lead us to a true Guru. The Guru will guide us on the spiritual journey by helping us gain the spiritual knowledge and understanding necessary to become self-realized and God-realized. The Guru is a divine entity. By the grace of God one finds a Guru and is inspired with faith within to surrender to the Guru.

Swamiji so beautifully says that a true Guru has a divine personality which cannot be deciphered by our material mind. This is the reason that we may not even be able to recognize him even if we come face-to-face. Discriminating a true Guru from all the fake ones requires inner faith, intellectual surrender and devotion. This faith is gifted by God when the soul is truly hungry for God. Thank you, Swamiji!

Beautifully explained. That is exactly what happened to me. When I was ready to surender, my Guru found me. It's unexplainable to the intellectual mind.
Very well explained by Swamiji. Of all the spiritual activities the most difficult one is finding the right Guru. Once you find the guru, one just needs to surrender to him and rest he will take care. But till you get the Guru pray to the God to show right Guru and he will show the path.

We eventually figure out that it is not really the God that we need to figure out, but figuring out ourselves is the real quest. God is given as this entire creation is seated in God. Rather than searching for a Guru we prepare our own vessel, develop the sincere thirst for God and selfless devotion. Then by God’s grace we are with the Guru who will help us to progress further on our spiritual path.
