Tarja's version of Sleeping Sun from this show is incredible. For this reason for me it will always be her song. Floor sings it beautifully, but Tarja did something special with it.
WOW just simply WOW, I am blown away by this version. Amazing! Never heard this version before. So pleased that you reacted to this, again I love your reactions.
There is a story about Henk Poort, who sings as the phantom, singing this with Floor. She wanted to sing it with him. He agreed if they did it in the style of Nightwish.
Personally I love Floor she's amazing, but I grew up with Nightwish and Tarja in the late 90s early 2000s so Nightwish will always be Tarja for me. Good stuff regardless. Glad you have found this incredible finnish heavy metal band that has taken youtube by storm recently.
Just thank you for the variety! All of the singers are wonderful and being something great to the band. And it isn’t just the singers. The band is different and great in every era as well. Explore the entire history, it’s just more fun.
Walking In The Air by Tarja is also great. A great Finnish male vocalist, Jarkko Ahola, does a fantastic version of Walking In The Air. I'm a proud Finn when it comes to Nightwish and Arkko.
Don't forget "Swanheart" when it comes to that specific concert. Actually my most beloved Tarja song. The ending when she sings a duet with Emppus guitar is just so damned good.
More from Marko? Nightwish - High Hopes (live) th-cam.com/video/4oEDnVeYYyM/w-d-xo.html A song by Pink Floyd, sung from Marko alone. It's a tribute and in my opinion even better than the original. David Gilmore himself said at the time it was the best Pink Floyd cover ever made.
The Basist is Marko and he often sings with Floor. The singer is Tarja and the drummer is Jukka. In Finnish the letter J is pronounced Y, so Tar-y-a and Y-ukka 🙂 By the way, I see that you have reacted to Pink Floyd. Nightwish did a fantastic tribute to them by covering their song 'High Hopes'. Perhaps if you put them on your (growing) reaction list for some time in the future you could please both sets of fans, perhaps even with a double reaction, first the original and then the cover? Just something to consider a bit later perhaps...
It may be worth mentioning that the bassist's given name is Marko but he's often known as Marco in English speaking countries because that's usually pronounced closer to correct. And the R should be always rolling in Finnish, pretty close to Spanish rolling R.
Yes. Marko is his real name and Marco is his kind of stage name. But in Finnish they are pronounced exactly the same, so in context of foreigners trying to handle Finnish names it just does not matter which spelling you use. Like check how Americans fare on pronouncing names like Noora Louhimo (Battle Beast) or Jari Mäenpää (Wintersun). Spoiler: they don't.
Marko usually gets to sing the roles of the evil guy of the dark spirit. Tarja is a wonderful operatic vocalist. see you both again very soon! Loved it.
Good choice to hear Tarja. The bassist is Marko Hetala. I do miss him from the band. The original drummer had to step-away for medical reasons BUT he hand - picked the current drummer.
Symphonic metal. Cool. Thanks for the info. I like the way his rock voice balances out her operatic voice. Quite a show. You could tell that there were some super fans in the audience.
Thank you for the reaction! In this song, and quite a few others, Marko sings with growly, gritty voice, but he can sing with mellow, sweet, delicate voice as well. Now you need to hear Floor and Marko together, in unison or in harmony, or taking turns, their voices sound good together, coplementing each other. EVER DREAM, and SONG of MYSELF Wacken 2013 7 DAYS TO THE WOLVES Wembley 2015 WEAK FANTASY Tampere 2015 are good examples to name but a few. Edit: Thank you for appreciating Jukka, the drummer. He had to step down in 2014, because of a severe case of insomnia. No reason no cure has been found. He still works in Nightwish management. He is missed by fans. His friend Kai took his place, a great drummer him too.
I am glad that you have decided to continue exploring this real treasure of diamonds and pearls. In this reaction, you had the opportunity to meet Tarja Turunen, the first female singer of the band, and Marco Hietala, bassist and singer, in the "End Of An Era" concert in 2005. I hope that this strengthened your decision to continue - reason for which I subscribe, so as not to lose anything :) Greetings from Romania!
Welcome to the Nightwish world. I´m glad you decided to follow this path. I´m sure you will enjoy every time when you listen to them. Greets from Finland. Take care.
Original lead singer , Tarja(Tar-ya) Turunen, is the most operatic of the 3 female lead singers. Floor is the 3rd, the 2nd is Anette Olzon, who has more of a pop/rock style. This performance is the 2005 concert in Helsinki. (End of an Era DVD). Tuomas did the arrangement for thisversion. It was Tarja's last Nightwish show. After the concert, the guys gave her the open letter dismissing her from the band. Tarja 1996-2005, Anette 2007-2012, Floor 2012 -present. Yes, bassist Marko Hietala can sing. He sang backing or co-lead on a lot of songs, and lead on a few, including The Islander and their cover/tribute of Pink Floyd's High Hopes. He was lead singer of a band called Tarot before joining Nightwish in 2001. Unfortunately , he decided to leave the band in 2021 for personal reasons. Andrew Lloyd Weber called this his favorite or one of his favorite versions. Btw, the lead female character is named Christine.
Christine Daie the name of the female lead. Tarja ( Taa-rrr-ee-a TUrUnen) was a founding member of Nightwish with Thuomas and Empu. Both Tarja and Marko are classicly trained singers. This concert was recorded on October 29, 2005 in Hartwell arena. Kittos BTW is Finnish for thank you. Good manners very important in Finnish culture. And Tarja is every bit A LADY. The tour was called Once upon a tour.their 5th album which came out in 2004. The drummer is Jakku ( j -aa-k-uu) he no longer drums but is still managing the band behind the scenes. There was a lot of bad blood for how they handled letting Tarja go. It was ugly & hurtful and handled badly. That is the not pointing fingers version everyone can agree with. The letter, the response etc is our there. But enough to know the hatchet has been buried. Marko and Tarja have appeared in public to sing together since. Also note that even back then Tarja and Floor were friends and are to this day. Absoloutley no bad blood there. One of the conditions for joining the band Floor set out is to never sing the 1st single they put out after Tarja had been succeeded by Annette. Bye Bye Beautiful as it was a personal attack on her friend. She is there originally as a guest singer 2010-12 to finish concert dates Annette had to quit as she went into labour over Christmas. 2012 she officially signed on full time. The discrepancy on dates is how you count the 1st two years. Anyway good to know Tarja went on to a hugely succesful solo career. As a matter of fact she has released her 10th studio album as a solo star 2007-2022, Greatest hits as chosen by her. Called Living the Dream out as of December, 04, 2022. Her discography is extensive. She has an autobiography as well Singing in my blood. Giving a deep dive into her solo career you will see she has an amazing variety and style to her music. Please don't let those who don't know her work convince you that she is merely anything. Or can only do one thing. She is as lovely and warm and kind as she appears. Currently doing Christmas together 2022 in Europe. Her and then/current manager and husband Marcello Cabuli will celebrate 20 years this December 31, 2022. Along with their daughter Naomi (10). The title of her album is accurate. She is living the dream. Wife, mother, star, record label owner, TV star. Loved by her fans and that is mutual between our Queen Tarja and the fans. Now I point out here she was 28 at the time of recording and singing through a head cold and throat infection that kept her from singing the sound check. Incredible spirit. She is a trouper. Welcome to the rabbit hole.
@@Ozzy_2014 I think you should edit your copy-paste little bit. Tuomas, not Thuomas Emppu, not Empu Jukka, not Jakku. Pronunciation ( j -aa-k-uu) makes no sense. I think American pronunciation is "YU-kah" Kiitos, not Kittos
You two are adorable! First time watching. Nightwish is an amazing band regardless which singer is in front. Each singer brought their own style to the band and they are were great. Going to watch Ghost Love Score now. Looking forward to watch more of your reactions. Great job.
Hello, greetings here from Brazil. I like your interpretation of the Nightwish performances. Your interaction with your mother is also great. Looking forward to watching you with the videos of Dead Boy's Poem, The Poet And The Pendulum, Euphoria and so many others. The band and Floor are amazing. 👨🏻🎤❤🔥
Hello ladies, greetings from UK 😊 Another great reaction, thank you 😁 A bit of background about Floor's version...It is from a Dutch TV show called Beste Zangers (best singers) Seven of the best singers take turns in singing to each other a song that is special to the person they sing to. This often takes them out of their comfort zone. It is not a competition it is a tribute to the person they are singing to. It is on this show that Floor sang her version of "Shallow" which many people thought was better than Lady GaGa's version! Anyhoo....on the last day of the show people were singing duets. Floor sings with a gentleman called Henk Poort. Henk actually played The Phantom in the Dutch version of the musical and was one of Floor's heroes as she was growing up, so she was delighted to sing with him as you can imagine. They did a slightly Metalic version of the song which has had over 20 MILLION views on this link that I found, and is in a very intimate setting for TV, not in a stadium for a crowd th-cam.com/video/plCScjvDOJM/w-d-xo.html
Nightwish Army Italian Division here. Nightwish have lived through three eras with three different female lead singers and each of the eras has been and is currently epic. Whatever song you, both of you, are going to hear and react to you will never be disappointed, especially if the songs are in live version. Yesterday in Milano, my city, Nightwish did yet another wonderful live show. 🤘🤘🤘
Great job ladies , Tarja Turunen 1996 - 2005 this was her last show with the band she was fired right after this show Marco Hietala bassist & singer joined Nightwish in 2001 - 2021 he retired from the band in jan 2021 . Note there is only fan cams of Floor's performance of this so far it was just done for the 1st time a couple weeks ago . Floor is still recovering from breast cancer . Your going to love love "Storytime"
Gabriel is a legend, when introducing the band to new people & making it easy for them. As others have said the Best Zangers version with Floor & Henk is astounding, definitely worth a check.
Metal head here, long time fan of Nightwish - Thank you for your reaction video, that was nice to watch 😊 Fair review & commentary, with limited pauses. This was in Fall, Helsinki, Finland 2005 & I'll never forget it. "End of an Era" Tour - This was the last time we ever saw The Siren, The Viking, The Pirate, The Vampire & The Zombie perform together 🧡 I'm now 37 & enjoyed this so much. The nostalgia... Oof! Thank you, again!
please explore some more of the Tarja era. Floor is awesome, but Tarja was just as great. What you just showed was from the "End of an Era" concert, which is available on YT in entirety. Also, "From Wishes to Eternity" concert is available. There's even older clips of Nightwish on TV for the songs "Gethsemane" and "Sacrament of the Wilderness".
So nice to see a mother daughter's reaction! Ladies...you don't know the half of what drama was happening at this concert! The band fired original lead Tarja (Tar-Yuh) rt after this concert. The band's future was unknown...so they played like it might be their last concert...if you see other performances from this (End Of An Era 2005) show...watch the guys...its some intense energy! Here you've met the co-lead singer for Nightwish, Marko Hietala (pron: HEE-ah-Tallah), a classically trained guitarist, *bassist, songwriter and fantastic vocalist both solo and in harmony! Marko is a major rock star! There are 2 versions of Phantom sung by current singer, Floor Jansen (YAHN-Sehn)... one version is her and Henk Poort on a TV show. And a brand new performance, live from 11/28/22 in Amsterdam, where Henk comes onstage w the band and sings in the style of Marko (left the band Jan 2021 for health reasons), the same Nightwish version of the song you just saw. I highly recommend this new live version...at the end...Floor has a total Ghost Love Score moment w her final note...its special!!
If you want another cover, exclusively Marko singing, look up "Nightwish - High Hopes" from the very same concert, End of an Era. Marko has a voice that can sing literally anything and everything, and he absolutely nails it with Pink Floyd music.
THANKS for some TARJAWISH !!!!! In love with the divine TARJA'S vast diverse epic brilliant solo career !!!!! Checkout her exquisite Christmas Music tour going on now in Europe !!!!!! 💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘
We love people/reactors that follows Gabriel's list 💞 Metal daughter with a metal mom, nothing could go wrong! Keep going into the magical rabbithole! Much love to you and Ukraine 🌻🌻🌻💙💛💙
Thx for this reaction. Easiest for you will be take the list of Gabriel Bardac - you got in your reaction of Ghost Love Score… all best Links of best songs of Nightwish and that are a lot… 👍🏆
Tarja Turunen was the first singer with a very "operatic" voice which influenced Tuomas's compositions to suit her singing style. When sacked in 2005 she was replaced by Anette Olzon who had a "pop" voice so unable to sing many of Tarja's songs. In late 2012 when Anette left mid-tour, Floor took over after only two days to learn 15 songs. Nightwish was then able to perform songs from the complete catalogue as Floor can sing anything. Please note that Ghost Love Score was written for Tarja but Floor brought more to it.
The interesting bit about kicking Tarja is that this performance (and the whole End of an Era DVD) is from the last night Tarja was with the band. She hasn't spoken with Tuomas since the day this video was recorded!
Hi and thank you for an entertaining video! Nightwish really are special. There are few bands that has this level of stage presence. The version of this song with Floor is from a dutch TV show called Beste Zangers. It’s a stunning performance and I highly recommend watching it and reacting to it even though it isn’t with Nightwish. But there is a version with Nightwish featuring Henk Poort that does the phantom with Floor on the show. They performed that one live in Amsterdam two weeks ago. I had the pleasure of being in the audience that night and it was magical! Because they haven’t done TPOTO since around the time the video you just reacted to was shot. The thing is that the footage that is available now from the show in Amsterdam are shot by fans on their phones. But the whole show was recorded for an upcoming DVD! So if i where you I would steer clear of videos of this performance until the DVD is released.
You mentioned being impressed by Marco's "scary, growly, Viking" voice. And when you meet him in person, he is the kindest, friendliest, most personable chap you could ask for. Not scary at all in real life! 😊 And you've not yet even scratched the surface of his great vocal capabilities!
Fun reaction. When Nightwish did the Century Child (2002) album promo tour, Tuomas (keys, composer, mastermind) was asked about Phantom why they made a version of it and he answered "the song is as if it was made for us. The arrangement was easy to make, just add some heavy edges here and there". Symphonic Metal was an almost non-existent subgenre, there were pioneer bands and a few bands used a little orchestra, but Nightwish made symphonic metal popular and well-known. Nightwish was the first metal band to put "orchestral hits" into their music, and their very Hans Zimmer-like use of strings as rhythm instruments is one of the cornerstones of Nightwish's sound. How everything started is really funny story. Tuomas and Tarja had performed in school music projects. Tarja had, I would say typical young girls voice, nothing special yet. Couple of years later Tuomas started assembling the band. The original idea was to make atmospheric music, but there was an unexpected thing what changed everything, this is from their book: ----- In 1996, Tarja was on her Christmas holiday in Kitee. "I had spent the semester in the church music department of the Sibelius Academy in Kuopio. It was a really cold day in Kitee. Tuomas rang our doorbell, I remember him wearing a green parka and combat boots. He modestly told me he wanted to talk to me about something. He had brought a couple of cassettes with him and asked me if I could maybe listen to them. The music turned out to be really beautiful." Tuomas remembers that Tarja immediately agreed to join the band. Having no clear idea on the vocal melodies, Tuomas basically gave Tarja the task to figure them out herself. "There were three songs on the demo, and one of them was called 'Nightwish'", Tarja recalls. "Tuomas gave me the lyrics and backing tracks and said that he had a certain melody in mind, but I was welcome to come up with my own interpretation." At the time, the goals were not set too high. "The whole thing was supposed to be just an experiment - we'd record a demo and maybe sent it out to some record companies", Tuomas says. "There were no plans whatsoever to play gigs or to aim towards anything more serious. Tarja figured it would take maybe two days for her to sing the songs in the studio." "Tuomas called me and said that we have a vocalist", engineer Tero Kinnunen recalls. "I remember the Saturday morning we sat there waiting for her. A car pulled up to the yard, and out came a woman wearing a fur coat. I thought it was some granny in her thirties, but then I saw her face and noticed that it definitely wasn't the case. I believe Tarja was 17 or 18 at the time. The Huvikeskus studio in Kitee wasn't anything like it is today. The control room was in the theater, so we set up a mic there and started recording." Tarja went through the vocal melodies with the boys, and when the time came for her to start singing, the guys' jaws dropped to the floor. "It was such a shock for us when she first started to sing", Tuomas thinks back with awe. "I thought we were going to hear a clear, young, beautiful, girly voice in the style of Kari Rueslåtten or something - instead, Tarja had a high-pitched, bombastic voice that was already very dramatic and classical. She surprised us completely."
Phantom is how I first heard Nightwish decades. My had their CD. I really liked but didn't follow them much. Rediscovered them a few months ago with Floor...the rest is history. Marko is my favorite male vocalist. Love him!
Hi both hope u ok im steve 51 in uk huge nightwish fan got all cds dvds rareities of the band .yes great band great vocals .the male singer left last year hes marko . So many great songs for you to hear yet .from heavy to slow to emotional songs . Tho to hear more of both singers check out nightwish ever dream live wacken 2013 .ps yes the floor version of phantom of opera beste zangers is amazing to .keep up great reactions
I love this Phantom. The only thing I would want is a solo by Emppu Vuorinen the guitar player. We get a small taste in his Flourish at the end. In every other way awesome. Sadly, I believe Tarja "left" the group the day after this concert. Thank you for reacting to this.
When it comes to Tarja, you really shoudl check out this one : 🎼 Nightwish - Swanheart - From Wishes To Eternity 🎶 Remastered HD 🎶 th-cam.com/video/0sc-VNppXhs/w-d-xo.html very underrated song, but its actually my favorite song with Tarja, and the ending when she sings quasi a duet with Emppus guitar, thats so damned good 😍😍
I'm quite fond of the musical The Fantom of The opara, which I've seen several times at the theater, but this is actually my favorite version of that track 🙂
It is important to note that Tarja & Floor are long time friends. There is some debate among the fans about which is the better singer, but the ladies themselves are close friends . In fact Floor did not take the job as lead singer until after Tarja said it was alright with her. Because Tarja had been fired from Nightwish Floor didn't want it to interfere with their friendship if she took Tarja's old job. About the 3 lead singers, Tarja is magnificent with the voice of a Siren. Annette is cute like a Pixie & she is as good as any pop singer in the world. Floor is majestic, she sounds & looks like a Valkyrie & she has the vocal ability to sing anything she wants & own it.
" In fact Floor did not take the job as lead singer until after Tarja said it was alright with her. Because Tarja had been fired from Nightwish Floor didn't want it to interfere with their friendship if she took Tarja's old job." Link to prove your claim, please? That is a bold statement and I don't believe it's a fact. just fan fiction. Tarja has nothing to do with it. She wouldn't deny any job and Floor wouldn't need her permission anyway. The whole thought is ridiculous. Floor waiting for Tarja's approval?LOL! How would she know the second chance for her after Anette would come after she didn't take the first chance for Tarja's sake? If the thing that you claim would have actually happened, there must be plenty of articles, interviews, videos where somebody would have mention this when describing how Floor ended up with Nightwish. Prove me wrong. Floor took the position right there and then with open arms when she was asked. She didn't wait for anyone's permission.
@@jaanahedemaki6993 "Floor did not take the job as lead singer until after Tarja said it was alright with her. "That is a bold statement and I don't believe it's a fact. just fan fiction. Tarja has nothing to do with it. She wouldn't deny any job and Floor wouldn't need her permission anyway." I was thinking along the same line as you. I did know they were good friends, so often wondered how this affected their friendship, although they did perform (Over the hills) together.
Welcome to the Tarja era of Nightwish. This is when they were true symphonic metal! The combination of Marko's heavy metal vocals and Tarja's dark classical vocals created such magic!!!! Since you like Jukka's drums, try "Planet Hell" from the same End of an Era concert
@@laudatosiadastra1218 As in they were one of the first if not THE first, And no in my opinion they are no longer symphonic metal. Pretty much now they are nothing more than Floor's back up band. I do not care what "the army" thinks of me for saying it. Go ahead and spew your hate
Gabriel's list provides you with great suggestions and really good links, but the list doesn't have to be strictly followed. Checking songs out by most requested and/or ones that just peak your curiosity will keep your Nightwish fans happy. A heavy metal song might be next on the list and you're longing for something more Celtic - check out the Celtic one. Many reactors don't want to know anything about the song they're doing beforehand, but there are two songs that you'll be able to appreciate much better if you know what they're about - The Poet and the Pendulum and The Greatest Show on Earth. If you can get versions with subtitles, especially for the second one, that will really help as well. I've really enjoyed both of your reactions and am happily anticipating the next one.
And Floor did it with the original singer of the phantom character in the dutch version of the musical henk poort the show is called beste zangers where great singers sing for each other. They did the nightwish version but sang henk and floor style with a bit of a surprise (got more than a million views) pls do not say which is better but you have to watch that one as well.
Really great reaction I did like seeing you rocking out to it. 🤘 Since it is December and you loved Marko Hiatola's voice, I would love to see you take a look at Kaksi Kynttilää which he did with Raskasta Joulua. 🎅
Marco is a beautiful human being, but can come off as a viking warrior. He actually won the Finnish version of The Masked Singer, as he is a well-trained singer and musician, and is very versatile. Bring the holiday season, you might like to give a listen to Marco and Floor sing "Ava Maria." It shows how very well they work together, which if you stay on the Nightwish journey (which I highly recommend), you will learn from other songs. This is the version I recommend: th-cam.com/video/ut6ufu2CPNg/w-d-xo.html At the end you will see the relationship they have, and his "softer" side, and without embarrassment, I will admit I cry every single time I see it. Love your enthusiasm and reactions to Nightwish ... you will not believe what's ahead. I'm an old guy, entering my seventh decade next year, and I've been a drummer and music lover since I was a child. I have never found a band that touches my soul like Nightwish. No two songs are alike, and Tuomas Holopainen is the greatest composer of my lifetime, in my opinion. Enjoy the journey, I'll tag along with you if you do. New subscriber!!
To see some great Floor and Marko (the bassist male vocalist) combos - check out Ever Dream, Song of Myself and Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean!!! He was on Finland's Masked Singer btw. Also definitely work checking our Floor's Phantom with Hank Poort on Beste Zangers. Enjoy your Nightwish journey.
I believe that Marco was the winner of that Finnish Masked Singer contest. He is in no way just a screamer. Nightwish fans universally miss the Viking.
And Tarja was a coach on The Senior Voice Finland where contestants over 40 compete to win. This was her 2nd season and her student won. Tarja has not been idle. Her best of album #10 since 2007 Living the Dream came out Friday. That LADY does not believe in resting on her laurels.
Same concert, they do a cover/tribute to Pink Floyd's High Hopes from the Division Bell, it features Marko's voice while Tarja has a break costume change Marko also sings some of his own songs with more of a folk vibe in Kiss While Your Lips Are Still Red, and the Islander. Who else can say they had the worlds most amazing female vocalist as their backup singer? Unfortunately Marko left the band last year. Seems to be related to more label/management issues, we all hope he one day returns. Some of my favorites with Tarja were Nemo and Wish I Had an Angel, she has gone on to a successful independent singing career after leaving the band.... immediately following this show...
Great reaction! Always nice to see Tarja getting some love too when most of the focus is on Floor, for good reason, I get it. Tarja might not be a powerhouse like Floor but there are songs I will always prefer by Tarja rather than Floor. The album version of Sleeping sun for example.
Also checkout Phantom of the Opera with Floor and Henk on the Beste Zangers ( Best Singers ) show. If you want more of an original version I do love the differences in this version but it's heavier depending on your preference. Tarja has this beautiful Classical/Opera sounding vocals. And she has some colorful clothes at times with matching microphones.
Jukka Nevalainen (the drummer at that time) is my the most favorite drummer and Nightwish musician (after Tuomas Holopainen, keyboards) 🤘🥁 I love Jukka's drumming and his style, his bandana. I wear bandana many times 😊
So this was the Nightwish's original lead female vocalist. Much more Operatic than Floor Jansen(Not Jsansen, but more like Yansen pronouncing wise). Tarja Turunen was the original and NW raised to fame with this singer. Also Tarja is either Tarya from English speaking ppl. But correct way to say is Tarja ,R letter is a rolling R and Ja is Ya. Easiest thing to know about Finnish names that we don't have silent letters, we say every letter. So guitarist Emppu is pronounced just like it looks. Emppu.
Marco is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING his singing voice is just wow. should check songs out with him. Pink Floyd's High Hopes with Nightwish he sings that solo. Romanticide, I want my tears back and yours is an empty hope are 4
Thanks for the upload and comments. Really like your channel and approach! Haven't seen this version before. Personally, I like the version with Floor a lot more. Knowing all the versions with Floor (and heard it live in Amsterdam in November) it is actually even hard to listen to. I will try again a few times 🤣. But I can imagine people like this more rough kind of a version.
This is my third reaction from your channel and I'm obsessed with you two!! What a cool version I'm going to show my music teacher this!! I know you like the drummer I will take the keyboard pirate dude! Love you mom and sexy daughter! Erica 😈❤️💋
There are now 4 versions on YT of Floor singing Phantom of the Opera with the Dutch 'Phantom' Henk Poort. The best version to watch is from the Beste Zangers show where Floor and Henk sing together. 2 other versions are on stage, one is during Floor's solo 'concert' just after COVID which is a good version, then there is a version at PinkPop again during her solo act (She did two shows in one day, a solo one and a Nightwish one). The other is live with Nightwish backing Floor and Henk at a recent Nightwish concert but that one is a fan video so quality is low.
If you like Marko's voice, suggest you listen to Floor and Marko singing "Ave Maria" (ideal time for this leading up to Christmas) - there are a couple of live versions of this - and also a live version of Nightwish singing "The Islander" (preferably live at Wembley or live at Tampere), as Marko wrote and takes the lead in that.
Tarja is amazing 🔥😍
Tarja is the One and only. Greetings from Finland. 🇫🇮❤
Tarja was the best singer they will ever have. 🙏❤️
@@Mr.Greeeeeen 100 percent on that. The music isn't even the same anymore without Tarja.. I love floor also but there's no comparison
INDEED
You will love this band
Marko and Tarja are just incredible in this... they all are :D
peak nightwish
Tarja is a goddess. That is all.
Tarja is the best
My fav is Swan Heart with Tarja.
Tarja's version of Sleeping Sun from this show is incredible. For this reason for me it will always be her song. Floor sings it beautifully, but Tarja did something special with it.
Jukka is so awesome ....right on!
Tarja❤❤ & Marco yeah!!!!!
Tarja Forever❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
WOW just simply WOW, I am blown away by this version. Amazing! Never heard this version before. So pleased that you reacted to this, again I love your reactions.
New to Nightwish, I take it? Buckle up!
😂🤘
this was their last show with Tarja, back in 2005. check out also their pink floyd - high hopes tribute from same night
They have a 26yr treasure trove of music awaiting you. They are incredible and can´t recommend them enough.
@@laudatosiadastra1218 This. I LOVE your handle, btw.
There is a story about Henk Poort, who sings as the phantom, singing this with Floor. She wanted to sing it with him. He agreed if they did it in the style of Nightwish.
The point is Tarja & Floor, not Tarja "OR" Floor. Great reaction, amazing analysis. Greetings from Argentina😉🤘🇦🇷
All NW singers have had great contributions to NW’s music.
Women like Tarja and Floor put pop singers to shame.
Personally I love Floor she's amazing, but I grew up with Nightwish and Tarja in the late 90s early 2000s so Nightwish will always be Tarja for me. Good stuff regardless. Glad you have found this incredible finnish heavy metal band that has taken youtube by storm recently.
Love Tarja, the voice of an angel.
tarja es única una voz inigualable...! saludos desde Perú
YOU are now official members of the NIGHTWISH ARMY, welcome and enjoy
Nightwish - High Hopes (live)
th-cam.com/video/4oEDnVeYYyM/w-d-xo.html
A song by Pink Floyd, sung from Marko alone. It's a tribute and in my opinion even better than the original. David Gilmore himself said at the time it was the best Pink Floyd cover ever made.
I CONCUR. I got to get at least 10 bucks for every i concur i reply from Eric lol
Hear, hear!
I 2nd previously stated "I Concur "
Best Phantom on the web. Soooo good.
The Basist is Marko and he often sings with Floor. The singer is Tarja and the drummer is Jukka. In Finnish the letter J is pronounced Y, so Tar-y-a and Y-ukka 🙂
By the way, I see that you have reacted to Pink Floyd.
I concur...
It may be worth mentioning that the bassist's given name is Marko but he's often known as Marco in English speaking countries because that's usually pronounced closer to correct. And the R should be always rolling in Finnish, pretty close to Spanish rolling R.
Thank you Mark! What a great idea! 😃
i concur
Loved it.
Nobody sings the phantom like Marko
EVER DREAM, and SONG of MYSELF Wacken 2013
7 DAYS TO THE WOLVES Wembley 2015
WEAK FANTASY Tampere 2015
are good examples to name but a few.
I hope that this strengthened your decision to continue - reason for which I subscribe, so as not to lose anything :)
Greetings from Romania!
All rise for Nightwish
Welcome to the Nightwish world. I´m glad you decided to follow this path.
I´m sure you will enjoy every time when you listen to them.
Greets from Finland. Take care.
Thank you for diving deep and discovering all eras of this band!
Tuomas, not Thuomas
Emppu, not Empu

There's a Video out there o of Floor and Tarja singing together
@@jerrydavison1176 Yes, they sang Over the Hills and Far Away at a solo Tarja show.
You two are adorable! First time watching. Nightwish is an amazing band regardless which singer is in front. Each singer brought their own style to the band and they are were great. Going to watch Ghost Love Score now. Looking forward to watch more of your reactions. Great job.
Thank you! We’ll have another Nightwish tomorrow. 😃

Hello ladies, greetings from UK 😊
Another great reaction, thank you 😁
A bit of background about Floor's version...It is from a Dutch TV show called Beste Zangers (best singers)
Seven of the best singers take turns in singing to each other a song that is special to the person they sing to.
They did a slightly Metalic version of the song which has had over 20 MILLION views on this link that I found, and is in a very intimate setting for TV, not in a stadium for a crowd

Yes Please!
I was working in that gig. Tarja’s last concert. Emotional rollercoaster 🔥🤘🇫🇮
My fav Nightwish era 🥰🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
Love watching you girls react to this great song !! Loved it !!
Nightwish one of the most loved bands in whole Europe
This is the last Nightwish concert I've been in this far and it was glorious.
And now you must check out Floor and Henk Poort doing this on Beste Zangers.
The next Symph Metal band you need to checkout is Epica!
Tarja is a good singer for sure, here Marco kills it.
I concur! There's so much energy of youth in those performances and most of the old songs like Gethsemane sound best with Tarja.
One prime example is Poet and the Pendulum. Marko goes from extremely raspy and rough to ultra soft within the same song.
THANKS for some TARJAWISH !!!!!
In love with the divine TARJA'S vast diverse epic brilliant solo career !!!!!

Thx for this reaction. Easiest for you will be take the list of Gabriel Bardac - you got in your reaction of Ghost Love Score… all best Links of best songs of Nightwish and that are a lot… 👍🏆
Another good dramatic nightwish song is with tarja (First singer) walking in the air.
We have all been deigned sufficient to receive this performance.
I highly suggest reacting to the siren or slaying the dreamer from end of an era with Tarja! ✨
Anette does Amaranthe very well
@@jerrydavison1176 compared with whom ? Please suggest a live version where she stays on key.
The band does adjust the songs to fit Floors voice too, she sings most Tarja era songs in lower key than originally written.
@@annarantanen3813 which might be why they sound more pleasant to the ear. I don't like "whistling " sopranos.
Just be prepered for joyful moments with Nightwish
Walking in the Air and The Greatest Show on Earth are my recommendations by Nightwish. Hope they are on the list =)
The original idea was to make atmospheric music, but there was an unexpected thing what changed everything, this is from their book:
-----
In 1996, Tarja was on her Christmas holiday in Kitee. The music turned out to be really beautiful."
Tuomas remembers that Tarja immediately agreed to join the band. Having no clear idea on the vocal melodies, Tuomas basically gave Tarja the task to figure them out herself. "There were three songs on the demo, and one of them was called 'Nightwish'", Tarja recalls. "Tuomas gave me the lyrics and backing tracks and said that he had a certain melody in mind, but I was welcome to come up with my own interpretation."
At the time, the goals were not set too high. "The whole thing was supposed to be just an experiment - we'd record a demo and maybe sent it out to some record companies", Tuomas says. "There were no plans whatsoever to play gigs or to aim towards anything more serious. Tarja figured it would take maybe two days for her to sing the songs in the studio."
"Tuomas called me and said that we have a vocalist", engineer Tero Kinnunen recalls. The control room was in the theater, so we set up a mic there and started recording."
Tarja went through the vocal melodies with the boys, and when the time came for her to start singing, the guys' jaws dropped to the floor.
And Marko is the man, he can, and does, everything he wants
Phantom is how I first heard Nightwish decades. My had their CD. I really liked but didn't follow them much. Rediscovered them a few months ago with Floor...the rest is history.
Marko is my favorite male vocalist. Love him!

I love this Phantom. The only thing I would want is a solo by Emppu Vuorinen the guitar player. We get a small taste in his Flourish at the end. In every other way awesome. Sadly, I believe Tarja "left" the group the day after this concert. Thank you for reacting to this.

Tarja ❤ our OG metal goddess
Tarja is awesome and so is Marko but Marko stood out. Tarja and Floor are friends.
Tarja es lo maximo :D
Because Tarja had been fired from Nightwish Floor didn't want it to interfere with their friendship if she took Tarja's old job."
Link to prove your claim, please?

Since it is December and you loved Marko Hiatola's voice, I would love to see you take a look at Kaksi Kynttilää which he did with Raskasta Joulua.

@@moonbeam4447 yes- Marko was awesome with NW!
And Tarja was a coach on The Senior Voice Finland where contestants over 40 compete to win. This was her 2nd season and her student won. Tarja has not been idle. Her best of album #10 since 2007 Living the Dream came out Friday. That LADY does not believe in resting on her laurels.
Same concert, they do a cover/tribute to Pink Floyd's High Hopes from the Division Bell, it features Marko's voice while Tarja has a break costume change
Marko also sings some of his own songs with more of a folk vibe in Kiss While Your Lips Are Still Red, and the Islander.
Love seeing more Nightwish reactions, here for every one! Love Tarja, but Floor owns my heart! Great reaction, great performace!
I love Nightwish. Have you heard While Your Lips Are Still Red or Sleeping Sun. Also Tuomas Holopainen, A Lifetime of Adventure?
Also checkout Phantom of the Opera with Floor and Henk on the Beste Zangers ( Best Singers ) show. If you want more of an original version I do love the differences in this version but it's heavier depending on your preference. Tarja has this beautiful Classical/Opera sounding vocals. And she has some colorful clothes at times with matching microphones.
Tarja is amazing. Check out Floors too. Love the channel

I did try to link the videos but YT wouldn't allow me to.

This. Now that you’ve seen the original Nightwish version of this, take a brief detour to hear Floor tackle this song. Impressive!
