Title: 2024 TOPPS UPDATE ODDS REVEALED! THIS WILL SHOCK YOU…
By: Grip n Rip Sports Cards
I laughed when you were questioning the order of the odds checklist, then you said you'll be buying a hobby. That's exactly how they out the order of them, by order of which people are more likely to buy. Hobbys always have been and always will be the middle ground and most sought after, and hangers/other retail people just won't be looking up odds as much for I don't think, so they put it after hobby and jumbo. I bought a jumbo pre-order, so we will see how it goes, but since Skenes, Merril, Langford, and Holliday are all going to have a base, and debut card in this set, or at least expected to or else there will be riots, I was going to buy some regardless of the odds, and price, and I think Topps knows that so they priced it higher and made Print runs higher
Favorite moment this year: Ohtani going 40/40. My family and I were.
Snagged a jumbo after looking at the odds. Price is lower than I expected actually. Figured I’d gamble on an auto and get most of the base cards
i bought the bundle but doubt i get more just chasing a skenes
I definitely think the hobby boxes are to expensive. However, I'm perfectly fine w the odds of the gold's (across all of the configurations). It's about time they keep the "chase cards" harder to get. These cards aren't intended to be the main reason to buy the product. They're called inserts because they're supposed to be randomly "inserted" into the product.
Forrest wall steals was my favorite moment from this season
I think they greatly reduced the number of hobby boxes produced (and jumbos for that matter). Look at the odds for the clear parallels /10 and a couple of the other hobby/jumbo exclusive parallels. The odds have significantly improved compared to Series 2 (for clear, they are 1:412 packs in Update versus 1:720 in Series 2). This likely means they put more of the higher numbered parallels in retail products. This would make all formats (retail and hobby) more appealing IMO. I did preorder both hobby and jumbo.
Checklist has a few new surprises and some missing players.
Where are you seeing a checklist?
Got myself a Hobby case for Paul Skenes cards and depending on the outcome I'll buy a blaster here and there
I pre-ordered a hobby box. I'll get a few blasters at retail later or a companion box or two at Costco when those come out and maybe a pack or two of jumbo at my LCS.
Another great video....can't wait for the actual release. Got my hobby box coming so I hope I get lucky
I’ll probably just buy into some breaks so I can try to hit some Guardians cards for my PC. I can probably get into 2 case breaks for the cost of a hobby box
Cosmic Chrome pre order tomorrow for 582 Club members only.
I suspect the bundle was meant to get people over the $100 threshold, so customers could get free shipping and not run away.
It was $102 with shipping and tax for just the hobby for me...The tax with the combo puts you around $115-120 probably depending on your area.
I ordered 2 hobby boxes
Too many inserts, outrageous print run, should be less than series 2. Fanatics is killing the trading card industry.
Ill just play power ball
I feel bamboozled.
Greed, simple greed.
Mark my words skenes will not be in base set. May have a short print but will not have a base rc
I think I'am going to buy the hangers I might buy a hobby
U mean a cheap low end product that now has worse odds of pulling anything good.
@fliplife67 Base Topps (series 1 series 2 & update) are INDEED INTENDED to be "a cheap low end product". The regular "inserts" aren't supposed / intended to be super hard to get. The serial #'d cards should ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY be hard(er) to get. When you practically have every card in 20 different versions/ variations it detracts from the collectabilities of the product. Sometimes simpler is better.
@@KenFreeman-oc1jr It’s crazy!!! there’s are printed to the moon U would think a avg person would only spend maybe 40 to 50 dollars a box but Topps is trying to sell it for 100 plus.
@fliplife67 I agree that the price point is way to high. I had a shop for 15 yrs. I closed up in June of '15 partially because of the chaos that was happening with the main companies putting the squeeze on the LCS in order to get the decent products we had to order cases of products that were selling below our cost within 2 weeks of being released .
Jumbo is by far the best format, multiple numbered card's, guaranteed autograph and 2 silver packs.
Not buying
hogwash
Jumbo has pretty decent odds honestly
